Necromancer Academy Genius Summoner

vol. 1 chapter 9 - Summoning 101: Three Reasons NOT to Major in Summoning

Bro Novel: **Necromancer Academy’s Genius Summoner**
Chapter 9 – **“Summoning 101: Three Reasons NOT to Major in Summoning”**
---
**Second & Third Period – Continuous Hell**

Period 2: **Sacred Defense Studies**
Period 3: **Hemomancy**
Every professor followed the same ritual: call the “Special Admission No.1” to the front and test him in front of the class.
At Keyzen, professors fought for students as fiercely as students fought for grades. Poor performers could be fired mid-semester; star pupils translated directly into funding and influence.
So Simon was dragged up twice more.
Both times his sparring partner was **Mayrin Villeneuve**, the undisputed top of Class A and near-perfect entrance-exam scorer.
A complete beginner versus a prodigy produced the obvious result. After the third class, word had spread: “Special No.1 is a total novice.”

---
**Short Break – Empty Snack Bar**
Simon collapsed alone at a table.

*Classes are fun… but brutal.*
A voice floated over.
“Hey.”
A short, blond boy in sunglasses propped on his forehead slid into the opposite seat.

“I’m in Class A too—Dick Hayward.”
“…Simon Polentia.”
They shook hands.
“You’re already famous. Other sections are gossiping about you.”

Simon shrugged.
“Let me guess—‘Special No.1 bubble bursting’?”
Dick laughed.
“Honestly, you’re the normal one here. First day and everyone’s acting like lunatics.”
Dick leaned in.
“Know what? Hector’s already forming a faction.”

“…Faction?”
“After that flashy duel, nobles are flocking to him. If Class A goes full Hector, anyone he dislikes is finished—group projects, supplies, everything.”
Simon straightened.
“Then why aren’t you with him?”
Dick scratched his cheek.
“I’m a commoner—merchant family. Hector’s crowd… smells blood.”

He executed an exaggerated bow.
“If I’ve offended, forgive me, my lord.”
“Cut it out. We’re all first-years.”
Dick grinned.
“Exactly. Look, forget factions. Join *my* crew.” He thrust out his hand.

Simon grasped it—not for alliance, but simply.
“How about… just friends?”
Dick burst out laughing.
“Cheesy—but I like it.”

---
**Fourth Period – Summoning Studies**
Class mood had loosened; cliques chattered.
Hector sat ringed by four laughing nobles who sneered as Simon passed.
“Here comes the bubble.”
“History’s biggest scam.”

Simon ignored them, eyes sparkling as he pulled out the Summoning textbook.
*Can’t wait.*

**Enter Professor Aaron Deia**
The door creaked open—and in shuffled **a neighborhood uncle**.
Unkempt hair, stubbly beard, wrinkled shirt, shorts, and worn slippers.
Students blinked. Was this the janitor?

Dragging his slippers, the man stopped at the lectern.
“I’m **Aaron Deia**, your Summoning professor for the semester.”
In lazy strokes he wrote **SUMMONING** on the board, one hand still in his pocket.

“Summoning is the **root** of necromancy—some say our history begins with grave-robbers and corpse-lovers. Scholars hate the idea, but… hard to deny.”
He turned with a dark smile.
“You’ve heard rumors: outdated, under-funded, too many handicaps. Today I’ll give you the **honest** pitch—**three reasons NOT to choose Summoning.**”

Students froze, pens hovering.
**Disadvantage 1: It’s Expensive**
“Whatever number you’re imagining, double it.
Skeleton sets, pre-treated zombie corpses—none are reusable.
Often the mission reward *won’t* cover the material cost.”
The room went still. Commoners looked sick.

**Disadvantage 2: Over-dependence**
“Your undead dies? Your combat power drops 80 %.
Modern trend is semi-permanent custom undead.
Lose your ace and you’re left sucking your thumb while classmates plan tactics.”
He drew a circle around “dependence” and linked it to “expensive.”
“Lose your main summon? «N.o.v.e.l.i.g.h.t» Financial and power knockout. Months to rebuild.”
Silence deepened.

**Disadvantage 3: …**
Aaron grinned, chalk poised.
“This one’s **the most important.**”
