Chapter 262: | 262 | Plans for Expansion
Within the depths of the Citadel was the command assembly room of the United Military, it was the conference board of the top officials, generals, and admirals of the United World Government. Standing before the expansive rectangular table where the highest echelons of the country seated was none other than the Authority, and beside him was the Dragon of Liberation.
"It has been a while since I have commanded the United World Government and the United Military as a whole. The only time I had reigned over these organizations were during their moments of creation. I would have love to continue the autonomy of the country as I dislike governing people who could rule themselves."
"However, times have changed since the creation of our country. The United World Government has become a renowned country throughout the seas. Whether it'd be the humanity of Europa, our colonial neighbors, and the ancient kingdoms of the Frontier. They have heard of us and learned what we stand for."
"No matter how much we side with peace. It is only a matter of time before war is declared." Abraham sighed and stated. "Read the recent reports that our intelligence agencies have discovered. These are confidential reports. I expect that no knowledge of these papers, escape the command assembly."
Hearing his words, the highest echelons of the United Military and the United World Government slowly opened the folders where the confidential reports were kept. As they read through the file, they had finally become aware of the intricate political nature of the world.
Understanding that they have become informed, Abraham continued his discussion.
"The Colonial Dominion of Mavors are gathering their naval fleets and armies with the reinforcement of nearby colonial dominions of Europa. Since the advent of this country, they have been secretly preparing for an invasion to reclaim what was supposed to be theirs, which was the sea region of Terra."
"Our spies in the colonial dominion has reported a gathering of armed force ranging from 2 to 5 million military personnel. Even with our superior firepower, the moment that war is declared between the two of us. It will cripple even our military and will take a year to recover."
"But that isn't the most pressing concern at the moment. Open the next file." Abraham ordered, to which the highest echelons calmly followed. They opened the second page of the confidential report, and inside was troublesome problem that required even the attention of the Authority and the Dragon of Liberation.
"The ancient kingdoms of the Frontier are controlled by the Revolting Tide, whose leaders are the three bestial deities considered to be mythical figures of the Ferus Sea. If humanity has the Sovereigns, then the Frontier would have the Bestial Deities."
"Although much more weaker than the Sovereigns, these beings aren't chained by the intricate politics of this world. They remained as warlords of a pond that is the Frontier. Under their authority, the ancient kingdoms are infiltrating the country through migration."
"While we have manage to mitigate the effects of their influence, a mere follower of theirs had brought about the disaster of Dawn City. I believe that they shouldn't be underestimated and can be considered a greater threat than the Magus Tower and its Sovereigns."
"Anyhow, these threats must be taken care of to ensure the prosperity and security of the country. We must expand onward, and the first one in the grinder shall be the Colonial Dominion of Mavors. Afterward, the Frontier will be open for us to influence and let us see the reactions of the ancient kingdoms before further discussions of our expansion into the region."
"The United Military must be mobilize as a whole with a three months deadline to complete the mobilization efforts. We will be fighting against a power that commands a force of millions. The United World Government must remain cautious and determine."
"But make no mistake, the United World Government shall be the victory of this clash. It is not a matter of if, but when. I hope you will be ready by then, and I believe that you won't disappoint." Abraham concluded as the highest echelons of the World Government stood up from their chairs, straightening their backs and saluted to the Authority of the Country.
"For the World Government!!!" Their voices resounded throughout the command assembly room beneath the Citadel. Observing them with intrigue, Abraham smirked since there was no doubt that even without interacting the organizations he had built. They remained steadfast and strong against any obstacles or challenges of the World Government.
He hoped that they would maintain such morale until the very end of their lifespan. After all, the loyalty of the people was of utmost importance within the World Government. Ensuring that they had good lives and could fight for the country that was their home was amongst the priorities of the middle-aged man.
As the highest echelons of the United World Government made their leave from the command assembly room, silence consumed the interior as Laplace nudged the shoulders of her husband. Abraham slowly turned his eyes at her as she gave him a teasing smile.
"My husband has become an excellent ruler."
"But I'm far from a perfect one." He sighed after hearing her words, only to hear her calm and soothing response. "Since there is no such thing as a perfect ruler, my love. Just like there is no perfect country, perfect citizens, and perfect government."
"Being an excellent ruler is enough for the United World Government. Though, you could always strive to be better and maybe, there'll be a time when perfection is simply one unattainable step away." Laplace continued, pinching the cheeks of her husband.
"I guess you're right. Though, I do wonder about what we should do with our other neighbors." Abraham muttered to himself, questioning the paths they could take when dealing with their remaining neighbors. After all, these neighbors of theirs weren't directly hostile to them like the Colonial Dominions of Mavors.
Some were neutral, while a few were even friendly.
"The answer for that question is fairly simple. Perform what has worked since the ancient times. Make more friends than your enemies, then you shall be invincible." Laplace winked at her husband, who could only chuckle at her antics. Before Abraham could utter a single word, two gorgeous ladies entered the command assembly room.
"Abraham... Laplace... It has been a while." The ones who had recently entered were Charlotte and Mercedes. Charlotte was the one who spoke, gazing at the two with intrigue. On the other hand, Mercedes glanced at them with a tired expression. The Atlas Corporation has been riddled with reports since the rebellion of Minos.
Foreign companies and merchant groups who had managed to smuggle themselves into the country were being stomped by the Atlas Corporation one after another. These bastards would always bring with them the plague of the black market and illicit services. They were nothing more but the parasites of the world.
And the United World Government was akin to a roasted pig for them. A country that was too tempting to resist. Even with increase and advancement of immigration policies along with the improvement of border security through the United Navy and the United Coast Guard. Some cockroaches always puncture through.
Since the disaster of Dawn City and the rebellion of the State of Minos, the Atlas Corporation has been working tireless to ensure that the market was untouched by foreign adversaries and a black market wasn't formed within the immature underground of the country.
"Charlotte, Mercedes, the two of us have been waiting for you." Abraham smiled at the two, remembering the time they spent together. The two of them were much more closer than a friend, extending to even the status of a family for him.
"Yeah, I was wondering when the four of us could go for a foursome?" Laplace gave the three a smug smile, only for Abraham to grind her forehead. "No! no! Please, it actually hurts!" With his current strength, he was no capable of causing pain to the dragoness.
"Anyway, the United World Government will be official declaring war against the Colonial Dominion of Mavors in three months. I want the two of you to expand our foreign relations with neighboring countries such as the Principality of Nox and the Kingdom of Vesta. I believe that with some discussion, they could become important allies of the World Government."
"Does anyone of the two of you differ?" Abraham asked, wanting to know their opinions regarding his plan. Charlotte and Mercedes calmly thought about it, with the Prime Minister answering first.
"Although I would like further details with the plan you have in mind, it isn't an inadequate one. I already considered them potential allies when one maintained their neutrality while the other support friendly relations." Find your next adventure on empire
After Charlotte was Mercedes as she was the Director of the Atlas Corporation, when speaking of the economy. It was difficult for her to stay out of it.
"I'd like to expand our trading policies with them since I consider them as benign nations. I believe that the population of these two countries are a potential market for the World Government. Their goods might also bring benefits to our citizens."
Hearing their opinions, Abraham nodded in understanding and uttered. "It seems that the two of you are onboard. We'll talk about these subjects in greater detail later. For now, we will finalize our following steps into the year since it will be no doubt, a hectic one."
"So, do the three of you agree to my-"
"No,"
"No!
"No-"
