Chapter 17: Chapter 17 – Evidence and Alliances

Sal knew that dealing with Danzo's schemes required caution. Although he was strong, his ability was still on par with Kakashi at the start of the storyline—perhaps a bit more versatile due to his unique jutsus. Facing Danzo directly would be suicide. He needed to be smart, not powerful.

"First, the evidence."

Without wasting time, Sal grabbed Captain Jack Sparrow's Compass. As always, the artifact pointed toward what he desired most at the moment. The needle slowly spun until it locked in a clear direction.

"The evidence of Danzo's schemes… It's really leading me to them?"

A wry smile appeared on his face.

"This compass is ridiculously broken."

Following the indicated path, he moved through Konoha's more isolated streets, avoiding curious eyes and patrols. Each step brought him closer to the truth. When he finally reached the destination, he stopped in front of a small, discreet building, without flags or visible markings.

"The ROOT base… Of course. Danzo is too confident to have the nerve to keep this in Konoha."

Sal took a deep breath, activating the Texture Surprise. With the jutsu, he altered the appearance of his clothes, mimicking the standard ROOT uniform. His eyes were hidden behind a common mask. With calculated steps, he entered the building as if he belonged there.

No one questioned him.

Inside, he followed the compass, which pulsed as if alive. Dark corridors, locked doors, silent guards—nothing stopped him. Using Shunpō, he traversed monitored areas in fractions of a second, while Paper Painting allowed his body to flow through cracks in closed doors.

"This combo is simply unfair."

Finally, he reached a sealed room with advanced seals. Sal frowned. Any attempt to force entry would draw attention.

"I need to be smarter."

Activating Texture Surprise, he transformed a blank scroll into an official document signed by Danzo, ordering the vault's opening for inspection. The guard outside, trained for blind obedience, didn't even hesitate.

— "Yes, sir." — The guard activated the seals, unlocking the access.

Inside the vault, Sal found exactly what he expected: falsified mission reports, tampered command seals, and even direct orders to sabotage the White Fang's mission. The evidence needed to destroy Danzo.

"I got it. Sometimes I wonder how Danzo can be so stupid. He really makes things easy for me. Now, the next step."

With the documents in hand, Sal knew he couldn't act alone. Sarutobi and Danzo were like lovers, always covering each other's mistakes. Without external pressure, the Hokage would never truly punish Danzo.

"I'll need a strong pulse."

That's when Sal revealed another trump card gained in the last two years: Hado #77 – Tenteikūra. Originally a technique from Bleach, the system had modified it to work with chakra, requiring hand seals and precise recall of the chakra signature the user wanted to contact. With his current chakra level, Sal could only connect with people within the Land of Fire—but that was enough.

He quickly formed the seals, releasing thin chakra strands that spread through the air like invisible threads.

The first targets were Kaito Dan and Tsunade, who were still traveling together.

— "Kaito, Tsunade, I need you. Danzo sabotaged Sakamoto's mission, and I have the evidence. But without support, Sarutobi will cover for him as always."

On the other side, the silence lasted a moment before Kaito's incredulous voice emerged:

— "What the hell?! Sal, how are you speaking directly into my mind?"

Tsunade interrupted, her tone serious.

— "Is this telepathy? What kind of jutsu is this, Sal? I've never seen anything like it."

Sal didn't waste time explaining the details.

— "It's something I developed. It doesn't matter now. Can you return to Konoha? If we don't pressure Sarutobi together, Danzo will get away with it again."

Tsunade, visibly irritated, responded firmly:

— "Danzo again? We're on our way. Hold tight, Sal."

"Two allies secured."

Next, Sal focused on Orochimaru's chakra signature. Convincing him wouldn't be as simple, but Sal had an extra ace up his sleeve.

While outside the village, he had found the Kusanagi Sword—another find guided by the compass. He looked at the silver blade, feeling the power emanating from it.

"This sword… in the original story, it ends up in Orochimaru's hands. Coincidence or fate?"

He smiled. No need to reveal its origin. He just had to use it as bait.

When the connection was established, Sal went straight to the point:

— "Orochimaru, I found something interesting while outside the village. A unique sword. Given your reputation, I thought it might interest you."

On the other side, there was a brief silence. Then Orochimaru's soft, cold voice echoed:

— "Sal… telepathy? You're full of surprises. And a sword, you say? Hmm… interesting."

Sal kept his tone neutral:

— "I'm serious. If you help me take down Danzo, it's yours."

Orochimaru chuckled softly, as if weighing his options.

— "Hmm… that sword has piqued my curiosity. Very well. I'll help—if only to see how this story ends."

"Three allies. Even better."

Finally, Sal contacted Nawaki Senju, now a 15-year-old prodigy and the Senju clan's patriarch. Unlike Kakashi, who was rushed to jonin due to the war, Nawaki's powerful talent had already earned him the title through merit. With his lineage, the path to Kage level was practically guaranteed.

— "Nawaki, it's Sal. I have evidence against Danzo. I need the Senju clan's support to ensure Sarutobi doesn't protect him. Are you with me?"

On the other end, Nawaki was silent for a few seconds, surprised by the sudden communication.

— "Sal?! How… how are you speaking to me? Is this a new jutsu?!"

— "No time for explanations. Danzo needs to fall, and I need strong political backing to ensure Sarutobi doesn't shield him. Are you with me?"

Nawaki didn't hesitate:

— "Danzo conspiring against Konoha? Count me in."

"Four allies. Three Kage-level fighters, including Sakamoto, two elite jonin, and the patriarch of the most reputable and influential clan in Konoha. Danzo won't escape, and this will earn me plenty of points."

As Sal deactivated Hado #77, now dubbed the Tenteikūra jutsu, he realized the impact it had caused. It had been a while since he gained this jutsu, but this was the first time he used it.

"If my physical strength is still not enough to change the ninja world, then I'll use my cunning."
