Naruto:Immortality and the Eight Inner Gates[Double agent]

Chapter 257: Naruto:Immortality-Chapter 8: Sir, Care to Buy Some Medicine?

Without a second thought, Gamabunta puffed up his belly and spewed out a torrent of toad oil.

At the same time, Jiraiya's flames arrived.

"Fire Release: Toad Oil Flame Bullet!"

In an instant, flames engulfed half the battlefield, raging uncontrollably once again.

However, on the opposite side, Hanzō of the Salamander didn't even bother forming hand seals. Beneath him, his salamander Ibuse dove headfirst into the lake below without hesitation.

The blazing fire evaporated a significant portion of the water on the battlefield in mere moments, causing thick mist to rise everywhere.

But instead of improving the situation, things took a far more horrifying turn.

Because this mist... was freaking purple!

This was no ordinary mist. Forget about the shinobi from the Land of Fire, Wind, or Earth—this was something even the seasoned ninja of Kirigakure, experts in mist combat, couldn't handle!

Previously, it had just been a drizzle of purple rain, which could be avoided by shielding oneself. But now, it had transformed into a dense purple fog, with deadly poison seeping into every corner.

Under such circumstances, Gamabunta was the first to succumb.

With his massive size, large nostrils, wide mouth, and enormous lung capacity, he inhaled far more of the toxic mist than anyone else.

With a loud "poof," a cloud of white smoke erupted, and Gamabunta disappeared, retreating to Mount Myōboku to detoxify.

As Gamabunta departed, it was as if a signal had been given on the battlefield. Regardless of allegiance, shinobi began collapsing like dominoes, one after another.

The poison spread rapidly, wreaking havoc.

The remaining forces of Sunagakure, realizing they were no match for this, were the first to retreat, using Wind Release to clear a path.

"This battle is unwinnable!"

Previously, in the Land of Rain, everyone fought on water.

Now, in the Land of Grass, everyone was fighting in poison gas.

"How the hell are we supposed to fight like this?!"

"Forget it! Let's all just go home. The farther we stay from this plague god Hanzō, the better for everyone."

Sunagakure was fortunate to have Chiyo, a master of antidotes, so they were in a state of both urgency and calm.

But Iwagakure wasn't so lucky.

Without a Chiyo or a Tsunade, all they had were heads as stubborn as rocks. Yet even these rock-headed shinobi were helpless against the poison. Coupled with the invasion from Kumogakure, Iwagakure's commanders decided to throw in the towel.

"Everyone, back to your villages and families!"

At the rear of Konoha's formation, Shikazuna Nara, covering his nose and mouth, scratched his head in exasperation as he watched allies collapse one by one and enemy shinobi retreat in droves.

He wanted to summon Jiraiya and give him a good scolding.

But upon further thought, poisoning everyone into submission actually aligned with Konoha's strategic goal of ending large-scale conflicts on the western front.

Rolling his eyes in disbelief, Shikazuna waved to the ANBU behind him, speaking in a muffled voice through his covered mouth:

"Hey, you! Distribute the antidote Princess Tsunade developed to everyone and organize a retreat for all units.

Oh, and don't forget to send out patrol squads! Also, get Jiraiya to cover the rear for the main force!"

As Konoha began its orderly retreat, Rinjin quietly slipped away from their ranks and reappeared at Iwagakure's camp, where shinobi were hastily packing up for their own retreat.

"Hey there, brother! Care to buy some medicine? Men swear by it, and women can't stop raving about it!"

Disguised as an ordinary man, Rinjin rubbed his hands together with a sly grin, his face full of cunning.

Hearing an unfamiliar voice nearby, the Iwagakure commander, his face already turning purple from the poison, was startled and shouted:

"Who the hell are you?! Guards! Someone get over here!"

At his outburst, the nearby guards, also with purplish complexions, sluggishly approached and grabbed Rinjin by the shoulders.

Feigning urgency, Rinjin put on a pleading expression and eagerly shouted:

"Sir, I can tell from your face that you're not going to make it through the night. My medicine can save you!"

The commander felt a surge of anger at these words.

"Save me?! Anyone with eyes can see my face is purple, you idiot!"

Clutching his dizzy head, the commander impatiently waved at the guards.

"Drag him out and execute him!"

Hearing this, Rinjin began to struggle, causing the weak guards to stumble. He shouted even louder:

"Sir! Listen to me! Just try my medicine! You're already on the verge of death—what do you have to lose?"

"Drag him out! Now! His shouting is giving me a headache!"

"Sir! Sir! Let's talk this out! The first pill is free—FREE, I tell you!"

At the word "free," the commander's eyes lit up. He raised his hand, halting the guards, and looked at Rinjin.

"Free, you say?"

"Absolutely free!"

"Alright then, hand it over."

Rinjin hurriedly wriggled free from the guards' feeble grip, carefully pulling out an exquisite wooden box from his robe. He presented it to the commander with great care.

"Here it is."

Opening the box, Rinjin revealed a golden cloth and, nestled in the center, a single earthy-yellow pill.

"This is it?"

"This is it! My lord, give it a try!"

The commander shot Rinjin a sharp glare but snatched the wooden box from his hands, examining it closely.

"White Earth, Clay Earth—split it between the two of you!" he ordered, gesturing to the guards.

Despite their purple faces, the two guards, disciplined as ever, stepped forward, broke the pill in half, and swallowed their portions without hesitation.

Watching the pair, Rinjin's lips twitched slightly.

"Seriously? Earth-themed names for shinobi from the Land of Earth? What is this, the Thames River?"

Moments after consuming the pill, the purple hue on the guards' faces miraculously began to fade.

Seeing this, the commander was overjoyed. He gave the guards a knowing look, and they immediately understood. They marched forward and grabbed Rinjin again, one on each side.

"Kid, got more of that medicine? Hand it over!"

Rinjin's face broke into a wry smile as he replied hesitantly:

"My lord, I do have more, but... you'll need to pay for it."

At the mention of payment, the commander's face darkened.

Iwagakure's economy was already in shambles. Some fool had recently tampered with the price of pig iron, dragging the commander's clan into financial ruin.

What made it worse was that, aside from Iwagakure, none of the other Great Shinobi Villages had suffered any losses.

Kirigakure was too isolated to even know what had happened!

Sunagakure had Rasa, the Third Kazekage, with his Magnet Release, and not only avoided losses but even made a small profit!

Konoha and Kumogakure? They were the culprits!

It seemed like Iwagakure was the only one left with its pants down, utterly humiliated.

Thinking of this, the commander's eyes burned with fury as he glared at Rinjin.

"Pay you?! Do you even know who I am?!"

Rinjin innocently shook his head.

"Drag him out and execute him!"

Hah! Let's see if you dare mess with me again! I'll scare you to death!

At his command, the loyal guards immediately dragged Rinjin toward the exit.

But after only a few steps, Rinjin suddenly dissolved into a puddle of water, splashing onto the ground.

"A Water Clone?!"

As the commander and his guards stared dumbfounded at each other, a familiar loud voice echoed from outside the camp:

"Sir! Care to buy some medicine?"
