Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Tsunade's Surprise
Extra Chapter~
In less than two hours, they gathered.
In the Land of Hot Water, thanks to the combination of the "Peacock Technique" and the "Super-Lightweight Rock Technique," Karin, with astonishing speed, finally caught up to Kiyoshi.
"Here already?"
Kiyoshi, who had been waiting for some time, stood in mid-air with his arms crossed, his wings shimmering in their familiar vibrant blue, the greenish aura around him having faded away.
"Alright, I lost fair and square. I'll call you Senpai as I promised."
Seeing Kiyoshi smiling back at her, Karin sighed, removing her wind-protection mask to reveal her face.
She shouldn't have bet with this guy who never plays by the rules. She'd lost miserably.
"Hmph, fine, I'll say it."
The next moment, Karin took a deep breath, her cheeks slightly red, and with a voice laced with a coy sweetness, she threw a wink at Kiyoshi.
"Kiyoshi-senpai."
"Stop, stop, where did you pick up that nonsense?" Kiyoshi's face twitched with discomfort.
"But aren't men supposed to like this sort of thing?" Karin tilted her head, confusion evident on her face.
She bit her lip shyly, continuing, "The women outside those places in the village all do this to attract men."
In recent days, Kiyoshi's various girlfriends had surfaced one after the other, which sparked a strong sense of insecurity in Karin.
She began wondering if she lacked charm, and, fearing she wouldn't stand a chance, decided to observe and learn from the women she'd seen in the village's entertainment areas.
But she quickly found herself overwhelmed and embarrassed, running out before learning much.
Kiyoshi's expression tightened. "Don't lump me in with Jiraiya—he's the kind who'll take whatever he can get.
Sure, I like women, but I have some taste, alright?" Rolling his eyes, he added, "Think about it, have you ever seen me go to those kinds of places?"
"Fine." Karin looked down, feeling deflated.
In all the time she'd known him, Kiyoshi really hadn't been one to frequent such places, even when the women there would openly ogle his face, tossing him flirtatious glances, which he ignored entirely.
"Alright, let's head out then." Kiyoshi shrugged, spreading his wings and soaring ahead.
After about ten days away, he found himself missing Tsunade's warm embrace… and that delicate "necklace".
"Oh, and Shizune too." A grin tugged at the corner of his mouth.
His normally reserved senpai, with her subtle charm, had legs that were both long and well-toned.
If he hadn't mastered Spirit Transformation Jutsu and taken control of her body once, he might not have noticed. He resolved to help her fulfill her dreams soon.
---
Soon enough—
In the town of Hot Springs, at the entrance of an inn, two figures stood, just about to leave.
"Kiyoshi—."
"Karin."
Seeing Kiyoshi and Karin descend from the sky with chakra-infused wings, Shizune, who had just lost to Tsunade in a quick game of dice, looked up, eyes wide with surprise and joy.
Even Tsunade raised an eyebrow, equally astonished.
"Lady Tsunade."
Karin greeted Tsunade with a respectful bow before happily throwing herself into Shizune's embrace, clinging to her in a way that radiated joy and affection.
"Shizune-senpai."
"You're back?"
Tsunade looked Kiyoshi over, her stern face softening, though she tried to keep a dignified front.
"Hehe." Kiyoshi hugged her warmly, grinning. "Missed me, Tsunade-nee?"
"You brat," Tsunade flicked his forehead playfully. "Wait... where's your forehead mark?"
She paused, a flash of surprise crossing her face as she stared at him. Shizune, still holding Karin, looked over, intrigued.
She'd been working hard on perfecting her own Yin Seal and Strength of a Hundred Seal, though she hadn't yet managed to fully master it.
"I completed the Yin Seal, and while I was at it, modified the technique to make the mark disappear," Kiyoshi explained with a smile.
As he spoke, he let the mark on his forehead shimmer briefly.
"Well, well... Looks like that trip was fruitful," Tsunade said, satisfied.
"'Fruitful' is an understatement," Karin huffed, still holding onto Shizune as she began complaining to Tsunade.
"Kiyoshi is a shameless flirt."
With a huff, she recounted all of Kiyoshi's antics back in Konoha.
"What?" Shizune's eyes widened as she looked at Kiyoshi in disbelief. "You destroyed the Third Hokage's monument on Hokage Rock?"
Kiyoshi shrugged. "What's the big deal? It's not like it can't be fixed. If I didn't have some respect for him, I'd have knocked down the whole Hokage building."
"Serves that old man right for a little wake-up call." Tsunade chuckled approvingly, pleased with her disciple's boldness.
Reunited, Tsunade decided to skip the casino and instead they all entered the inn, exchanging laughter and stories.
"Wait, where's Jiraiya?"
Kiyoshi looked around, noting Jiraiya's absence.
"The moment he was able to move, he ran off," Shizune said, her tone both amused and exasperated.
In the past, Jiraiya would have clung to Tsunade, eager to stay close. But it seemed Kiyoshi's earlier deadly warning had given him a reason to reconsider.
The idea of getting caught spying on Tsunade in the hot springs was enough to scare him off, knowing Kiyoshi wouldn't hesitate to hunt him down if he overstepped.
Not to mention, being one of the Sannin and the Toad Sage, he couldn't bear the thought of being easily overpowered by a brat, leaving him no choice but to leave in a hurry.
"Wait, and my fee?" Kiyoshi demanded, eyes narrowing. If Jiraiya dared to skip out on his bill, he'd teach him a lesson he wouldn't forget.
"Don't worry, he was too scared you'd come after him. He left the payment before he left," Tsunade reassured him with a smile.
Thirty million ryo—a hefty amount indeed, one that must've hurt Jiraiya's pocket.
"What kind of Sannin is so spineless?" Kiyoshi grumbled, looking dissatisfied.
"He must've saved up a fortune over the years, I was hoping to squeeze a bit more out of him."
Had Jiraiya skipped out, Kiyoshi would've hit him with late fees, collecting it all with interest. There's no way he'd let Jiraiya get off with anything less than several billion if he had his way.
If Jiraiya had been present, he'd be sweating bullets, grateful he'd left without stirring up trouble.
He knew full well that Kiyoshi would've tracked him down and drained his entire life savings if he'd dared avoid payment.
At Kiyoshi's words, Tsunade, Shizune, and Karin all exchanged silent glances, feeling a mixture of sympathy and relief for Jiraiya, secretly wishing him well in his travels—just far from Kiyoshi's reach.
"Forget about him." Kiyoshi grinned, changing the subject. "Tsunade-nee, Shizune, guess what—I brought you both a bunch of gifts."
"Really? I can't wait." Tsunade's and Shizune's faces lit up with anticipation.
"Me too." Karin chimed in, raising her hand enthusiastically. "I brought gifts for you as well, Lady Tsunade, Shizune-senpai."
"Well, thank you, Karin."
