Naruto: Uchiha Plunder System

They were walking through the bustling streets of Konoha.

Watching Mirai Uchiha walk silently ahead, Anko Mitarashi couldn't help herself and finally spoke up.

"Hey! Where exactly are you taking me?"

Mirai Uchiha didn't even turn his head. "First off, my name isn't 'hey.'"

"I've already told you," he continued, "I'm taking you to meet some teammates right now."

Anko frowned slightly. "Why would I need teammates? I don't need those false bonds at all."

At this, Mirai Uchiha stopped walking and said softly, "Because I don't have time to look after brats like you."

"And besides… those guys have pretty good personalities. You could try getting along with them."

"Can you stop calling me a brat? You're not that much older than me anyway!" Anko complained unhappily before asking, "Did that snake bastard really ask you to take care of me?"

Mirai Uchiha replied calmly, "Then why do you think you'd have the chance to meet me?"

Anko Mitarashi stood there stunned.

Now that she thought about it, he was right. Mirai Uchiha was a hero from The Third Great Ninja War and had recently become the captain of Konoha's Military Police Force.

While she was merely a newly graduated Genin who had just left the Ninja Academy, and her teacher was none other than Konoha's S-class Rogue Ninja—Orochimaru.

Without Orochimaru's request, someone like Mirai Uchiha wouldn't be within her reach at all.

Thinking about this, Anko asked in confusion, "Since you and Orochimaru were close, why didn't Anbu investigate you after his defection?"

After Orochimaru defected, everyone connected to him was investigated by Anbu.

Arrested or even killed.

The only reason she'd been released so quickly was because she was young and hadn't followed Orochimaru for very long.

Someone like Mirai Uchiha should've been a top suspect—how did he come out of that mess untouched?

And why was he boldly bringing her around openly...

Seeing Anko's puzzled expression, Mirai Uchiha simply raised his fist and said, "The reason is very simple."

"It's because I'm strong enough."

Hearing this explanation, Anko was momentarily taken aback.

So it was really just for such a reason?

But although it sounded ridiculous, it strangely made perfect sense.

Clenching her fists tightly, Anko murmured, "If I were strong enough, would that snake bastard still have chosen to abandon me?"

[Smack!]

Mirai Uchiha's palm landed heavily on Anko's head.

"Let me tell you again. One last time—Orochimaru didn't abandon you. He entrusted you to me."

"From now on, you're under my responsibility. Don't make that face just because I called you out."

Anko Mitarashi flinched slightly at his words.

Arriving at the dessert shop, Anko called out, "One order of two Three Coloured Pills!"

Mirai Uchiha immediately jumped in enthusiastically, "Make it ten."

Anko's smile vanished instantly. "Mirai, ten orders is way too much, right?"

Mirai shook his head. "Not at all. I've got a good appetite."

"But—"

Before Anko could say anything else, the dessert shop owner had already packed up the ten sticks of Three Coloured Pills.

"That'll be fifty coins."

Seeing that Mirai showed absolutely no intention of paying, Anko had no choice but to take out her wallet and reluctantly pulled out several coins.

"Come again!"

With the Three Coloured Pills in hand, Mirai strode straight out the door.

Anko followed him with her head hanging low.

Today's expenses are way over budget!

Still, knowing she'd get to eat more Three Coloured Pills made her feel a little better.

Walking and eating together, Anko finished her stick of Three Coloured Pills very quickly.

"Mirai, can I have another one?"

Seeing this, Mirai Uchiha and Anko Mitarashi stepped forward.

"Again? A few drunken ninjas causing trouble… Hmph, those rotten apples really make me sick."

"Exactly. Such a nice shop, and they went and smashed it up without hesitation."

"Lucky I ran like hell—I almost got caught in the crossfire."

"Why did those guys start a fight anyway?"

"Seems like they didn't bring enough cash. The owner wanted them to write an IOU, so they flipped out."

"And they dared cause trouble right in broad daylight… Isn't there anyone who can control them?"

"I saw some police squad members go inside earlier, but they seemed powerless against those guys."

"What? They must've been someone high-up. This time, the restaurant owner's done for."

Hearing the murmurs from the crowd, Anko looked furious: "So despicable! How could such wicked people exist?"

"If she's got so much guts, why not go kill a few enemies on the battlefield?"

But saying that was one thing—she had no intention of getting involved herself.

Ever since becoming Orochimaru's disciple, the first piece of advice he gave her had been—"Don't meddle in unnecessary affairs."

So when incidents like this occurred, her usual choice was simply to leave quickly.

Out of their way, out of her mind.

"Mirai-senpai, let's head off first…"

Anko Mitarashi was just about to pull Mirai Uchiha away when she realized Mirai had already started walking toward the crowd.
