Naruto: Tobirama Reborn, Invincible in the Ninja World

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Danzō’s Atrocities

The figure with that shock of white hair was none other than the one Danzō both deeply feared and respected—the teacher he had once idolized—Senju Tobirama.

Had his plan failed?

Danzō couldn't bring himself to meet Tobirama's gaze. His once-straight posture crumpled, his shoulders sinking under the weight of his shame and terror.

Tobirama strode purposefully into the room, his voice cold and cutting:

"Danzō, are you disappointed to see your teacher alive?"

The atmosphere in the room grew stifling, as if a blade had been drawn and held against everyone's neck. Behind Tobirama, Fū Yamanaka and Torune Aburame stood frozen, their eyes wide with disbelief. They couldn't comprehend it. The person who had plotted to assassinate the Hokage was none other than Danzō?

After a long, suffocating silence, Danzō forced himself to suppress his fear. He mustered a weak smile and asked, his voice shaky but defiant:

"Teacher, why would you say something so baseless? I've been here in the village the entire time, unaware of anything going on outside. Surely, you must explain."

Tobirama wasn't surprised by Danzō's refusal to admit guilt. "The Four-Symbols Seal," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "An impressive technique. I wonder when you managed to train such a group to carry out your dirty work."

"I have no idea what you're talking about, teacher." Danzō's denial was swift, his tone sharpening as he doubled down. He couldn't admit to attempting to assassinate his own teacher—no matter the cost. If he confessed, it wouldn't just mean his death. It would mean the total collapse of his legacy. His contributions to Konoha would be erased, and he'd be branded as nothing more than a traitor.

Tobirama saw through Danzō's façade. He let out a quiet, humorless laugh.

"Danzō, you've disappointed me beyond measure. I once believed you were only half a step behind Hiruzen, that you still had the heart of a Hokage. But now I see—you're not even half the man Sarutobi was. You are unworthy of becoming Hokage."

"No! I'm not inferior to Hiruzen!" Danzō snapped, his composure shattering. He roared, his voice desperate and raw.

"Do you think I haven't been watching all these years?" Tobirama said, his voice calm but scathing.

"You founded Root, turning Konoha into your personal recruitment ground, brainwashing gifted shinobi to eliminate your enemies. You colluded with Orochimaru, abducting villagers for his human experiments.

"When Hatake Sakumo, the White Fang, garnered the village's love and admiration, you drove him to suicide out of fear he would overshadow your ambitions.

"You coveted the Sharingan, murdering my student—your own comrade—Uchiha Kagami, and even manipulating Kagami's descendants, Shisui and Itachi, to eradicate the entire Uchiha clan.

"During the Nine-Tails' rampage, you stood by and did nothing. After Minato's death, you spread malicious rumors about the 'demon child' to seize control of the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki for your schemes.

"Danzō, you claim to act for Konoha, but tell me—was it truly for the village? Or for your own twisted ambitions?"

With every accusation, Danzō's face grew darker. He clenched his fists so tightly that his nails drew blood. How could Tobirama—a dead man—know all this? Danzō had covered his tracks meticulously.

"You're wondering how I know, aren't you?" Tobirama's gaze bore into Danzō. "Did you forget? I am dead. The spirits of those you've wronged have told me everything in the afterlife. I've been merciful by not dealing with you sooner. But no longer, Danzō."

The truth about the afterlife was far less dramatic than Tobirama's words. The dead did not retain memories of the living world. But he needed no divine intervention to expose Danzō's crimes—his sins were written all over Konoha's bloodstained history.

"No! It's all lies!" Danzō shouted, his voice cracking as he lost all semblance of control. "I did what I had to for Konoha! They deserved it! You're not my teacher! The real Tobirama would understand! You're an imposter!"

The weight of Tobirama's revelations pushed Danzō over the edge. He began muttering to himself, his words incoherent as his mind unraveled.

"Danzō-sama… has lost his mind," one of the shinobi muttered.

"But… the Hokage's words… they must be true," the other said, his voice heavy with realization. Both ignored Danzō's outburst, too caught up in the horror of the truth.

The man they had revered as a steadfast elder of Konoha had been its greatest threat.

"Danzō," Tobirama's voice rang out, cold and final. "This farce ends now. As the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, I hereby declare Shimura Danzō a traitor to Konoha. Your crimes are unforgivable. I will execute you myself."

Danzō froze, his worst fear realized. He had been branded a traitor. His ambitions, his legacy—everything he had sacrificed for—would be reduced to ashes.

But before Tobirama could make his move, Danzō snapped. He roared, his voice full of rage and desperation.

"You're not my teacher! You're just a thief wearing his face! Die!"

"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere!"

With a sudden surge of chakra, Danzō launched his attack.
