Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Naruto Returns to the Village

After returning to Konoha, Jiraiya and Kirito headed straight to Hokage's office to report to Tsunade.

After listening to Jiraiya's account, Tsunade sighed in relief. "It's a blessing that you both returned safely. I didn't expect the enemy's abilities to be so bizarre."

"But we anticipate that Pain will strike again soon," Jiraiya added, summarizing the analysis he and Kirito had discussed on their way back.

Tsunade leaned against her desk, frowning in thought. She remained silent, contemplating the implications of the report.

Jiraiya stood by the large window behind her, gazing out at the peaceful streets of Konoha. Meanwhile, Kirito, growing restless in the heavy atmosphere, finally broke the silence. "Lady Hokage, my report is done. May I leave to rest?"

"…Ah, yes. Thank you for your efforts. Take some time to recover. If there are new developments, I'll inform you."

With a nod, Kirito exited the office, closing the door behind him.

Once alone with Jiraiya, Tsunade leaned back in her chair and muttered, "The Akatsuki are such a troublesome bunch."

Jiraiya nodded. "Based on Kirito's observations, the enemy likely has someone capable of time-space ninjutsu. Otherwise, they couldn't have evacuated Nagato so cleanly."

"Time-space ninjutsu…" Tsunade murmured, rubbing her chin. "Something like the Flying Thunder God technique?"

Jiraiya shook his head. "Unlikely. Kirito searched the area thoroughly and found no signs of a Flying Thunder God seal."

"Perhaps a reverse summoning technique, then?" Tsunade speculated, frustration evident in her voice. "We finally tracked down their base, only for them to slip away again."

The Akatsuki's retreat plunged Konoha back into uncertainty. The organization's time-space capabilities meant that an attack could come from anywhere, at any time. While constant vigilance was an option, it would strain the village's resources and morale.

Tsunade sighed, realizing the difficulty of the situation. "In hindsight, taking Naruto to Mount Myoboku seems like the safest choice."

At least there, Naruto, as a Jinchuriki, would be protected from the Akatsuki, ensuring their plans couldn't succeed.

"It's a sound plan, but it leaves the village vulnerable," Jiraiya replied. Then he asked, "Where is Naruto now? Is he still in the village?"

"He's out on a mission with Kakashi and the others," Tsunade explained, "monitoring the aftermath of Sasuke's battle with Itachi and ensuring Sasuke's safety." She paused, frowning. "But it's too dangerous to leave him out there now. We need to bring him back immediately."

She called out to the door, "Shizune!"

The door opened as Shizune entered. "Yes, Lady Tsunade?"

"Send word to Kakashi's team. Naruto must return to the village immediately, and they must ensure his safety at all costs."

"Yes!" Shizune replied and hurried off.

As the door closed, Tsunade sighed. "Let's hope we're not too late… But do you really think Naruto can master Sage Mode? That's not something you can learn through sheer determination alone."

Jiraiya smiled reassuringly. "Have faith in Naruto. I believe he's even better suited for Sage Mode than I was."

Tsunade turned to him, softening. "How about we celebrate your safe return tonight? A drink, perhaps?"

"Really? That's great!" Jiraiya beamed. "How about a hot spring inn? A perfect place to relax—"

Crash!

Before he could finish, Tsunade punched him out of the window, sending him flying into the courtyard below.

"You can forget it!" she shouted, veins bulging on her forehead.

Clutching his bruised cheek, Jiraiya muttered from below, "Why even ask if you're going to throw me out…"

Naruto was supposed to return within days, but two weeks passed before he finally arrived.

That day, Kirito was summoned to the Hokage's office. When he entered, he saw Tsunade, Jiraiya, Kakashi, and several others surrounding a distraught Naruto.

Kirito scanned the room, noting everyone's serious expressions. However, Sasuke was nowhere to be seen.

Before Kirito could ask, Tsunade turned to him. "Kirito, you're here just in time.

"When Jiraiya takes Naruto to Mount Myoboku for training, we'll need you and Kakashi to prepare tactical strategies against Pain and work on how best to respond to his attacks."

Before Kirito could reply, Naruto interrupted, his voice filled with emotion. "Grandma Tsunade! I'm not going to Mount Myoboku! The priority is bringing Sasuke back! He just returned to the village—"

"Enough, Naruto!" Tsunade cut him off firmly. "Right now, you can't even protect yourself, let alone bring Sasuke back to the village."

Naruto clenched his fists, frustration and worry written all over his face.

Jiraiya stepped forward, resting a hand on Naruto's head. "Naruto, your current strength isn't enough. That's why I plan to teach you new ninjutsu."

Naruto's eyes lit up at his words but quickly dimmed. "But… last time, training took two years…"

Jiraiya chuckled. "What are you worrying about? This isn't about time. It's about belief and perseverance. Remember your determination and hold onto it. This training could take as little as one or two months."

Naruto's eyes sparkled with hope. "Really? Just like when I learned the Rasengan?"

"Exactly," Jiraiya said with a smile. "With your willpower, you can do it."

With renewed resolve, Naruto declared, "Alright! Let's go, Pervy Sage! I'll finish this training and bring Sasuke back myself!"

Watching Naruto's spirits rise, Kakashi sighed in relief. "Only Jiraiya-sama could get through to him…"

As the tension in the room eased, Kirito quietly approached Kakashi. "Sensei," he whispered, "what happened to Sasuke? Where is he?"
