Naruto: The Senju Patriarch

Soon, both sides lined up, each represented by their 2 massive armies of thousands of Shinobi. And with that, they charged at each other, with no intent of holding back. This battle would decide the course of the rest of the war. 

Immediately, Katsuro surged across the Konoha army, looking across to see where the Kazekage, One Tails or any other leading Suna ninja were located. As the fighting began, the Shinobi slowly dispersed into each other's ranks and formed one giant body of weapons, puppets, blood and aggression. 

While Katsuro couldn't directly see them, Ebizo and Chiyo, as directed by the Kazekage, quickly identified and tore through the Leaf Shinobi, followed by a number of tall, lethal puppets, to get to Sakumo. The White Fang was a main target of the Sand. But Katsuro made no attempt to go help him. Just as we suspected.

Sakumo, seeing the famously ruthless sibling duo, instantly diverted them towards a more open space with less Shinobi, to reduce as many casualties on the Leaf side as possible. Without a moment to lose, Chiyo and Ebizo pursued after the White Fang, and launched numerous series of complex, relentless, deadly puppet attacks at him. The machines clicked and hurdled across the ground and flew through the air at such terrifying speed, even Sakumo had trouble dodging all of them. One small cut from any of the puppets would be able to bring down an entire elephant, due the the various fatal poisons Lady Chiyo had concocted and smothered on all the blades of all her puppets. Fortunately, the one person able to rival Chiyo's genius in medicines and poisons was Tsunade, who was still either at the camp or at the back of the army with the rest of the medical ninja. 

Sakumo could only avoid and dodge all the incoming attacks from all of the puppets controlled by Chiyo and Ebizo, whose hands were intensely flying around in a blur, throttling their puppets in various movements to pierce the White Fang. The fight continued, with no end in sight. 

Eventually, Sakumo, being the exceptional Jonin he was, remembered Thunder Clap Impulse - a Lightning technique which his student, Katsuro, taught him. Combining this with his Shunpo, the White Fang disappeared into thin air, avoiding the next attack. Chiyo and Ebizo momentarily blinked, unable to catch sight of their target. However, Sakumo, who immediately saw an opening in one of the puppets, dove in, and drove his blade through the puppets' vulnerable spot, shattering the machine into hundreds of individual pieces, with his lightning chakra wreaking havoc inside it.

"That's one down." he sighed in relief. Chiyo and Ebizo laughed - he had only managed to get rid of one puppet, out of the many others.

"This was just the start of our routine, Shiroi Kiba-me! (damn White Fang!)" Chiyo yelled, with a murderous look in her eyes, temporarily stopping her hands. Ebizo also stared at him with malice. They would never forgive him for killing Chiyo's son, and his wife. 

Sakumo frowned at the insult, but didn't let it distract him. He had to focus on defeating the two. Even being the White Fang, it was an extremely difficult feat to accomplish - not because of their strength, but due to the number of their puppets and their teamwork. He was up against two of Suna's most skillful puppeteers who happened to just be siblings. A single scratch from any of the weapons would inflict him with Chiyo's latest in a long line of deadly poisons, forcing him to prioritise dodging. 

The sharp increase in malice and hatred for Sakumo behind their attacks, made it harder for him to dodge their attacks, even with his lightning Shunpo. Making direct attacks from afar at the duo also seemed impossible, as the puppets could simply dive in front of them, taking the hit, or redirect any kunai or shuriken close by. 

The siblings seemed to want to make this battle into one of attrition, a battle of who would run out of chakra first, and in such a battle the side with 2 fighters to 1 would obviously win. But their opponent was Hatake Sakumo, the White Fang of the Leaf. He was in his prime and before Katsuro became renowned, he was seen as Konoha's strongest force, even with the Hokage still in the village. His Kenjutsu and Shunpo almost seemed built to destroy puppets, his speed was almost impossible and his experience allowed him to sustain little damage while ensuring he destroyed all the parts so that they could no longer move. He knew from the time he had spent commanding this front, that experienced puppeteers could still move the smaller parts and land sneak attacks even after the main pupper had been destroyed. 

Occasionally he would use different Ninjutsu, like the Lightning Style: Lightning Beast Tracking Fang to create a dog made of lightning to attack the sibling from range which bought him time to escape their entrapment, or used the Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu to destroy the puppets completely. The only reason the siblings were able to hold on was their sheer number of puppets, strategic thinking allowing them to predict his movements somewhat and poison which cut down the number of options he had.

Seeing Sakumo steadily reducing the puppets of the siblings even without using the Jutsu he shared with his disciple, Rasa made his move. 

"Magnet Style: Golden Tsunami!"

Seeing the large wave of Gold Dust threatening to render him as nutrition for the ground, Sakumo smiled, it is as Katsuro predicted, they are investing to hold me back here. With this thought, Sakumo finally used the Jutsu the very disciple he was thinking of had taught him, Lightning style: Thunderclap Impulse. Sakumo had rarely used this Jutsu during the war, he kept it as a trump card not only because it was heavily chakra draining but because it boosted his abilities significantly. It acted almost as a multiplier, meaning it had an even greater effect on Sakumo in his prime than it did on Katsuro who was still young. Even without it Sakumo was feared by all the Suna Shinobi, but with it? He became a demon.

The combination of his Shunpo and the S Class Jutsu made him look like a spirit of Lightning, with his immense speed he easily dodged the wave of Gold Dust, instantly counter attacking with his signature short sword. 

With barely any time to react, and with Sakumo already on him, Rasa barely managed to use the Magnet Style: Gold Dust Armour, which created an armour over his skin. But it did little to stop the blade from piercing through. Sakumo's sword cut through the armour like a knife through butter melting the gold dust as it cut with the Lightning, leaving a deep gash through Rasa's chest as he backed off. 

Sakumo clicked his tongue, disappointed he had not managed to take the opportunity to finish him off when he saw the puppets react to surround him. They had adapted, giving him more space and themselves more time to react seeing his sharp increase in speed. The look on the face of the puppet siblings became dire, the nature of the battle could be read from it. The battle had changed, from one of revenge to one in which they hoped to just hold Sakumo off. 

As he landed after evading yet another puppet attack, a swarm of kunai flew towards him. Two other squads composed completely of elite Suna Jonin had decided to help to deal with the one Shinobi who was even stronger than they had expected. Sakumo, with his new level of speed and reaction time easily dodged, but grew worried, 8 more elite Jonin? Are they not scared of their Shinobi being devastated? It seems they have some kind of plan if they are so desperate to hold me here. But what? If they are willing to sacrifice so many resources, it must be something that would completely change the course of this battle. 

AN: I have now edited Chapter 1 which pretty much removes the dreams/glimpses which were alluding to Katsuro remembering the Naruto series. After feedback and my own decision, the story was no longer moving in the direction I had initially intended. Sorry for any confusion but thanks for sticking with me!
