Naruto: The Puppeteer in Konoha

Chapter 11: Chapter 10: Why does everyone keep hitting the back of my neck?!

After being startled by the rock ninja, Obito stood frozen in place, staring blankly as the kunai sped toward him. At that moment, a figure descended from the sky, landing on the rock ninja's body, driving a short blade into the ninja's neck and killing him instantly.

Kakashi then swiftly threw his short blade, narrowly missing Obito's head and hitting the rock ninja in front of them. Kakashi, with his sharp tongue, remarked, "Hey, scaredy-cat, if you're so afraid you can't even move, you can always hide with Rin. You're really dragging me down here."

Obito snapped back to reality, clenching his fists, his mind echoing Kakashi's insult. "I'm not a coward! I'm Uchiha!"

With that, Obito suddenly went on the offensive, drawing a kunai and charging at the sand and rock ninjas.

Meanwhile, Shindai, who had been helplessly tied up, watched in stunned silence. The white-haired man with the mask, who exuded confidence, and the spiky-haired man with goggles, who seemed a bit foolish, both looked so familiar. Could it be... Kakashi Hatake and Obito Uchiha?

If that was true...

Oh no! The Yellow Flash, Minato Namikaze, could also be here!

This is too dangerous! I need to get out of here fast!

With no one guarding him, this might be his only chance to escape.

"Damn it! How do I untie these ropes?"

Struggling against the ropes, Shindai found that the more he fought, the tighter they became. He could only squirm his body, slowly inching away from the scene.

Back at the battle, Kakashi and Obito were surrounded. There were ten sand and rock ninjas combined, with Kakashi having already killed four. The remaining six stood their ground. As for Obito... he was more of a hindrance than help.

Kakashi and Obito were back to back, eyes fixed on their enemies.

Obito, sweating nervously, asked, "Kakashi, what should we do?"

Kakashi didn't respond, charging forward, trying to break free from the encirclement. However, three sand ninjas immediately forced him back.

"Kill these brats quickly, the other Konoha ninjas might be on their way!" one of the sand ninjas ordered.

Just as the sand and rock ninjas were about to attack, a uniquely shaped kunai fell from the sky, landing right in front of Kakashi and Obito.

The next moment, Minato Namikaze appeared beside the kunai, and the faces of the six ninjas froze in fear as they recognized him.

"Minato Namikaze? Weren't you fighting the Cloud ninjas in the Land of Soup?" a rock ninja stammered, his voice cracking with terror.

Minato smiled warmly, "As you can see, I'm currently in the Land of Rivers. A ninja also needs to take a break sometimes."

To the sand and rock ninjas, Minato's smile felt like a death sentence.

Despite not being in the same country or village, they all made the same decision: run!

Minato's reputation as the "Yellow Flash" was feared throughout the ninja world. They stood no chance against him.

Within seconds, the six ninjas scattered, but one rock ninja tried to grab Shindai. However, Shindai had already wriggled into the grass, evading detection. The rock ninja, unable to find him, fled in haste.

But their escape speed couldn't match Minato's.

Minato took out six kunai, throwing them all at the sand and rock ninjas, and then performed the Flying Thunder God technique.

A flash of yellow light marked Minato's rapid movements as he returned to Kakashi and Obito's side. In the next moment, the six ninjas fell dead, blood spurting from their necks.

The fight was over in an instant after Minato's intervention.

Minato turned to Kakashi first, praising him, "Kakashi, your actions were excellent. You fought swiftly, making the right calls at the right moments."

Kakashi remained indifferent, as if saying, "Just basic training, nothing special."

Minato then turned to Obito, who was eagerly awaiting feedback.

However, Minato's expression grew serious as he addressed Obito, "Obito, your mental state during the fight was lacking. When two enemy ninjas charged at you and blocked your technique, leaving only one to attack, you should have noticed the change. If you weren't sure where the missing ninja went, you should've retreated instead of standing there, especially after Rin warned you. If Kakashi hadn't saved you, you would have died."

Obito, feeling embarrassed, lowered his head. Hearing this made him realize how much he had failed compared to Kakashi.

Minato suddenly lightened the mood with a smile, "But, Obito, I admire your courage. You didn't lose your will to fight. The purpose of this mission was to help you grow. As long as you improve, this mission will have been worth it."

Obito's spirits lifted, surprised to receive praise after all.

Minato patted Obito's shoulder, "Now, go find Rin and get that shoulder treated."

Obito looked at his shoulder and noticed a deep cut, blood trickling down. He immediately shouted toward Rin, "Rin, the fight's over! I'm hurt! Come treat me, it hurts!"

Rin rushed over to tend to his wound.

Minato turned to Kakashi, "Kakashi, search the bodies. I'll take care of him."

"Understood, sensei!" Kakashi responded.

Meanwhile, Shindai lay hidden in the grass, holding his breath and praying not to be discovered. However, when that familiar flash of yellow appeared before his eyes, his heart skipped a beat.

Shindai forced a smile, "Uh... Hello, I'm just a passing civilian. Do you believe me?"

Minato raised an eyebrow at Shindai's words.

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through Shindai's neck. As he fainted, he cursed in his mind:

Why does everyone keep hitting the back of my neck?!
