Naruto: The Prophetic Shinobi

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Return of Princess

[Konoha Main Gate — Afternoon]

The sun hung high over the wide gates of Konoha.

Beyond them, three figures approached.

At their head — Tsunade Senju. Her green haori caught the light with every step, the kanji of gamble (賭, kake) stamped proudly across her back.

Beside her walked Shizune, steady and composed, TonTon clutched gently in her arms. She'd followed Tsunade through exile, loss, and bitterness — now back through these gates again.

Trailing slightly behind them: Naruto Uzumaki. His cloak hung dark as ash, footsteps silent. The chokutō sealed in his arm. His eyes — cold, wary, unreadable — drew more than a few stares from the gathered crowd.

"That's the fox brat...""The Uzumaki boy...""Why is he with Tsunade-sama?"

The whispers were already rising as the trio passed under the gates.

Tsunade ignored them.

"First stop's the tower," she said to Shizune. Her voice was calm, but her stride remained purposeful. "But the boy needs to settle first."

She glanced back at Naruto, who met her gaze without flinching.

"You'll stay at the Senju compound this month — closer for training. Go home now. Pack what you need. I'll send someone to guide you there."

Naruto gave a short nod."Understood."

Without another word, he turned away — melting into the flow of villagers and shinobi alike. The crowd parted for him instinctively. He didn't bother to acknowledge them.

"He's different," Shizune murmured as they resumed walking. "Harder. Colder. So unlike—"

"He's surviving," Tsunade said softly. "Better that than being soft and blind."

[Hokage Tower — Briefing Room]

They met in the council chamber atop the tower.

Hiruzen Sarutobi sat behind the long desk — his face weathered and tired beneath the shadow of his Hokage hat. Beside him stood Homura and Koharu — ever the cautious, conservative presence in any room of power.

An ANBU watched silently from the corner.

The door opened.Tsunade entered — haori stirring behind her, shoulders squared.

Hiruzen's eyes lit faintly at the sight of her.

"Tsunade," he said, voice warm despite its weariness. "You've returned at last. The village—"

"Needs stability," Tsunade cut in. "And a leader with a backbone."

Her tone left no room for argument.

"I will take the position."

A pause.The council exchanged glances.

"But on conditions," Tsunade continued, gaze hard as steel. "First — the announcement will wait until after the Chūnin Exam finals. The village doesn't need more distractions. Let them focus on their teams and this spectacle of strength."

Homura frowned. "But the council—"

"Can hold its breath," Tsunade said flatly. "They'll have their Hokage soon enough."

"And your second condition?" Hiruzen asked quietly, though a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"Naruto Uzumaki will be my personal apprentice. Officially."

That silenced the room.

"I will train him as I see fit. No interference from this council. No oversight. No 'special supervision' . I teach him — alone. He will also live with me during this month."

"He is the jinchūriki," Koharu began carefully.

"And I am a Senju," Tsunade snapped. "His mother lived in my grandmother's house. His father entrusted him to this village. And you fools have left the boy to rot in cold rooms and colder stares."

She leaned forward.

"If you want a weapon to protect this village — then it needs a teacher, not a leash."

The words rang through the chamber.

For a long moment, no one spoke.

Then — slowly — Hiruzen smiled and gave a single nod.

"Done," he said. "You have my word as Hokage."

Homura and Koharu looked ready to protest — but Hiruzen silenced them with a glance.

"You will have full authority over his training, Tsunade. And I will personally ensure the council remembers it."

"Good."

Tsunade straightened.

"Then prepare your announcement to council. I'll take the hat when the time is right — after the exams. Until then — I have a student to teach."

Without waiting for dismissal, she turned and strode from the room — green haori billowing behind her.

"She hasn't changed," Hiruzen murmured, watching her go. "But perhaps this time… she'll change something that matters."

[Senju Compound — Evening]

Naruto stood alone in the wide stone courtyard of the Senju compound.

The place felt older than the rest of the village — untouched by the rebuilding after the Nine-Tails. Its long halls bore faded banners and heavy wooden doors. There was silence here, and something more.

Tsunade entered quietly behind him.

"You'll stay here until the finals," she said. "Training starts before sunrise."

Naruto glanced toward her.

"You'll become Hokage after the exams?"

"Yes," Tsunade answered. "Not because they begged. Because I chose to."

Naruto nodded once."Then I'll be ready."

Tsunade studied him — the boy cold and self-contained, walking a path far different from most children his age.

"Don't expect easy days," she warned. "You'll earn what I teach you."

Naruto nodded accepting the warning.

For a moment, their gazes held — a silent agreement passing between them.

Not a teacher and a child. Not a Hokage and a jinchūriki.

A master and an apprentice.

"Rest," Tsunade said. "Tomorrow… your real lessons begin."

Naruto watched her go, then turned to the old house behind him. The moonlight caught the edge of faded wood, old stone, distant stars.

He said nothing.

But in the heart of the Senju compound, the first true step on a new path had already begun.
