Chapter 9:- Two Years

-----------------------------

As time flowed on, the years passed swiftly.

Three Years After Natsuki Came to this world. Currently, it is the early days of summer. The weather was warm but not yet stifling—a day with a solemn weight.Today was a significant day in the village.

Today was the day when "heroes" returned home.

The war wasn't over; the Ninja's who were hailed as Heroes coming back weren't victors, but those wounded on the frontlines, people who couldn't continue fighting. They'd been a burden to their comrades at war and were brought back to live out the rest of their lives within Konoha's borders.

Also returning were the remains of those who had sacrificed everything. These ninja would never walk again; they would rest forever, buried in Konoha's soil.People crowded the streets, some silent, others in quiet tears. A few wept openly but not from joy—war's losses always lingered.

Without orders, the people of Konoha and the shinobi clans had arranged a solemn welcome home for their wounded and fallen heroes. The adults stood in stoic silence, while the usually lively children, though too young to understand fully, could sense something heavy in the air and remained quiet.

War was never a beautiful thing.

Natsuki's Home

Natsuki Matao wasn't too interested in this grand show of ceremony for Konoha's "heroes."

With his knowledge of the Naruto world, he knew full well how the shinobi system operated, with each ninja seen as little more than a tool for the village. And though he didn't hate Konoha, he certainly didn't trust it blindly.

Of course, he knew that Ruri would be there today. As a member of the Uchiha clan, she had a responsibility to honor those of her kin who returned from the frontlines. She wouldn't come to training today until much later, so he stayed at home, absorbed in his work for a couple of hours. He had plenty of projects and training to focus on.

Two years had passed since he'd started on his path of self-study in medical ninjutsu, and he'd mastered everything he could get his hands on. Not only that, he had gained a thorough understanding of those skills.

To put it simply, Natsuki was confident in his medical ninjutsu.

Aside from his medical skills, his overall abilities had also advanced significantly. According to Ruri, his strength almost reached Chunin. Ruri herself had earned the title a year ago after passing a rigorous selection test held by the Uchiha clan, and Natsuki could now spar with her with difficulty.

In these two years, she became much stronger than Natsuki expected. jutsu's like the Great Fireball jutsu, Shuriken jutsu and even Genjutsu. Due to her clan's help, she is growing faster than anyone he knows. All he can do right now is play catch up, the difference between a Clan Kid and an Civilian Kid on Full display.

But, he'd learned much more than just the basics. Besides the standard techniques like the Transformation, Substitution, and Clone jutsu, he'd mastered several medical techniques essential for a skilled medical ninja, including the Palm Healing jutsu, Healing jutsu, Blood Clotting jutsu, and Chakra Scalpel.

The principles behind these jutsu were simple for him to grasp, given his maturity and his drive. His intense focus allowed him to train many times more than his peers, dedicating all his spare time beyond classes to improvement.

Through patience and relentless effort, he had reached his current level. But he was careful not to reveal his true abilities to others. To the village and his peers, he remained a quiet, ordinary academy student.

In his small, private workspace, Natsuki had a lab set up with various equipment—flasks, test tubes, and burners flickering with blue and red flames. Glass jars filled with clear liquids contained samples he'd collected, such as plant extracts and preserved animal specimens, including organs like eyes and livers.

With practiced hands, he mixed different substances, carefully observing the results and recording his findings on a computer.

Having read fanfiction stories before transmigrating, he'd been surprised to see even this world's less advanced technological state included computers, though their capabilities were basic by his standards.

His strength lay in chemistry, biology, and pharmacology. He understood electronics and mechanics to a degree, but building a computer himself was out of the question. Specialized equipment had to be purchased, and he'd already spent a small fortune assembling his current setup. Research wasn't cheap, and his funds were running low; rare equipment and certain precious materials still required money.

He was mentally calculating his remaining funds, getting annoyed by the lack of resources. He decided to leave and train for a bit to cool off, as he has been doing Research For Hours. he has adapted to this world's training and it has become some sort of a relaxation for him.

when he reaches HIS training ground, he started doing Taijutsu, hitting the Wooden Log in a Calculated and fierce Punches and kicks. after a couple of minutes, he took his Kunai and jumped back. still in air, he threw his Kunai, hitting right in the center.

when he touches ground, he hears Rustling of trees, and turns to See Ruri coming out of the jungle, hiding his surprise. he has pretty good control over is emotions, as it is one of the key aspects he focused on Mastering.

Now Nine, she'd grown taller over the past two years. Though young, her gaze had become sharper and more intense, Ruri was somewhat of a lone wolf.

She didn't know how to compromise or navigate social nuances well, but she had a fiery drive to grow stronger—a trait typical of the Uchiha clan, Natsuki noted. Her passion for fighting was unmistakable. If it weren't for her respect for his strength and capabilities, Natsuki doubted they'd be speaking to each other at all.

He knew Ruri understood his capabilities, just as he understood hers. It was one of the reasons they worked well together.

"Is the welcoming ceremony already over?" Natsuki asked, casually waving his hands. He had expected Ruri to spend the entire day with her clan to honor the Uchiha who had returned from the war.

"No. I left early. A lot of people didn't come back, and some of those who did won't be able to live as shinobi anymore," Ruri said, her tone subdued.

"War does that," Natsuki replied, offering quiet sympathy. To lose people to war was tragic, but he wasn't surprised.

"Why didn't you go?" Ruri asked.

"I have no family returning from this war." He shows a grim face to her. Ruri remembered then that Natsuki's parents had died in a mission years ago.

"Sorry."

"It's fine; I don't mind it. It's a bit easier to focus on training without any attachments," Natsuki said with a reassuring smile before heading back to getting in his stance.

Ruri came to the middle of the training ground, Getting into her stance as well.Natsuki knew her well enough to know the ONLY reason she hangs out with him is to spar against him. He also Knew that She doesn't care much about him other than his Fighting Strength.

Over the past two years, they'd developed a respect for each other.

Ruri knew his true strength but had never considered exposing him, and Natsuki never questioned her silence. He didn't pry into her business, and she didn't pry into his. HE wasn't an Idiot, since he hid many things from her, especially his secret project- Blood Research.

Their Companionship was founded on this mutual respect and shared understanding—forming a trust that didn't need to be spoken aloud.
