Darkness.
My only advantage, the control room happened to also be where the base's power was, so I shut it off, turning the base completely dark. As we were underground, no trace of light could be seen, meaning we all were effectively blind.
Then, I locked my team into the control room before leaving it. As I did, I heard several surprised voices as the jailers torturing in other rooms came out. I killed them all without exception, and with ease.
I then hid the keys into one of the cells, as they made too much damn noise, before moving out of the interrogation area.
I continued sticking to the ceiling as I closed my eyes, focusing on my hearing. Soon, I heard several footsteps coming in this direction, as well as a light source. A lamp.
I stuck to the ceiling, and saw the guards from the entrance pass below me, complaining about the guy in the control room. With a simple move, I impaled the one holding the lamp, thrusting my sword through his skull and twisted it, before moving.
The other Chunin only saw a shadow move before the lamp fell and broke. The blood from the dead Chunin put off the fire, plunging us into darkness once again.
"W-Who are you!" He was scared. Good.
Knowing where he was thanks to the sound he made, I opened my eyes and projected my killing intent onto him, before swinging my blade. I bisected him at the waist. He cried in pain, so I stomped on his head, crushing it as I jumped back onto the ceiling.
My next target was alone, it was a woman, and she wasn't moving, but she was talking to herself. This time, I chose to project my killing intent first, but as I jumped onto her I heard her say, "Who might you be?"
The moment I heard her relaxed voice, I hastily kicked a nearby wall, stopping my attack as I heard something attack right where I was. Had I not moved, I would have been stabbed by a sharp weapon.
I quickly stopped projecting my killing intent, and the woman said, "I can't detect you… very strange. How did you end here? And how did you reach the control room?"
I ran toward her, slashing at her neck, and despite not making a sound, she jumped just in time to not get beheaded. However, because of her late reaction, she was still cut on the thigh. At least, it felt like her thigh.
She cursed, "You fight in the dark… Let's light up then!"
I heard the sound of her hands quickly slamming each other, and a stream of fire was shot out of her mouth. I clenched my teeth and decided not to dodge as I instead ran through the fire.
The woman, clearly not expecting it, failed to react in time as my sword slide past her throat. As for me, I couldn't help but whimper in pain as I felt my body being burned.
However, the pain was much lesser than I expected it to be. Looking at my coat, I saw that it was mostly fine, and it had protected me from the flames. It was still painful, but not deadly.
Since there was still some flames burning, I was able to see the woman stumble into a wall, holding her throat as she tried to stop her bleeding, but I had cut open her jugular. I could see from her uniform that she was a Special Jonin, the rank between Chunin and Jonin.
To think she almost killed me despite me having the advantage of surprise, I don't want to see what going against a Jonin would be. Unfortunately, I knew there was at least one in the base.
Taking a minute to breath, I once again moved. The next two targets were solo Chunins, whom I easily killed, but the third one…
I didn't even detect my attacker when I felt an overpowered wall of wind slam me into a wall. I almost felt like when I was slammed into the ground by the Iwa Spy.
Coughing a mouthful of blood, I saw a flame appear several meters from me, revealing a Jonin from Suna. He approached me, and crouched to my level as he asked, "You little bitch, you thought you could sneak up on me? You reek of blood you fool."
Understanding where my mistake was, I said, "I still took out many of you cunts."
The Jonin clicked his tongue and took out a kunai as he said, "If you were smart, you would have fled back to your village. Look at you, not even 10 and already killing our Chunin in batches. To be honest, I am scared to think of what you could have ended up becoming."
I felt I could move, but I knew attacking him was futile for now, so I said, "Probably your worst nightmare."
The Jonin tilted his head, before chuckling, "I'll give it to you, you are talented, but you are no Yellow Flash."
I closed my eyes as he rose his kunai, prepared to die, but then a third voice came in, "Well, you clearly underestimate her."
Opening my eyes once again, I was shocked to find a figure hiding in the shadows. It was hard to see who it was, so the Suna Jonin moved the lamp, and…
"Y-"
The Suna Jonin didn't even get to say a second syllable when the figure appeared next to him, knocking him out with a chop of the palm.
Meanwhile, I looked at the cloaked figure, tears falling out of my eyes as I sobbed, "Thanks."
The figure, Minato Namikaze, Fourth Hokage of the Leaf, looked at me with a complicated smile as he said, "A real magnet for trouble aren't you?"
I chuckled humourlessly, and coughed some blood. Minato asked, "Are you okay?"
I nodded slowly and moved my hands to my chest as I used the healing technique. While I healed myself, I said, "My team is in the control room. The Suna Nin on the way… I took care of them."
Minato nodded slightly, and touched my head. Instantly, the scene changed to a forest. Minato let go of me as he disappeared in a yellow flash, leaving me alone.
So that was the Flying Thunder God? What an incredible technique.
I looked at the kunai planted into the ground, and couldn't help but examine the seal on it…
"Sukaina, are you okay?"
I heard a rushed voice, and someone tackle me into a hug. I groaned in pain as I only saw red hair. The person holding me probably realized their mistake and let go of me, allowing me to see who it was.
"Kushina-san? What are you doing here?"
Kushina sighed and placed a small paper tag on my chest, which glowed green. With the light, I felt my chest pain lighten. It wasn't healing, but at least it lessened the pain. Thankfully, my body had gotten stronger, so I wasn't in as bad of a shape as I was back then.
She said, "We received your owl. I'm sorry you had to go through this."
As she said that, she looked to my left, and following her gaze I noticed the bandit camp in the distance. So she knew about the massacre.
"Shinobi life was never supposed to be easy, was it?"
Kushina shook her head and said, "At least we didn't arrive too late… how's the team?"
I shrugged, "Alive. Sensei was quite roughed up, but he'll make it."
Kushina nodded slightly, and right then Minato once again appeared, my team in tow. There were also three young men I didn't know, unconscious too. He looked at Kushina and said, "I've swiped through the base, there's nothing left. Can you…"
Kushina nodded and grinned at me as she said, "Wanna see something awesome?"
I nodded, a little amused at her childish comment, although I knew she was trying to cheer me up.
With my nod, I suddenly felt an oppressive chakra come out of her. It wasn't directed at me, but I could feel a killing intent a hundred times stronger than mine coming out of her.
Orange chakra seeped out of her body as her every feature turned orange, including her skin and her hair. Only her eyes were red, with a slitted pupil.
The seal on her stomach, which was hidden under her clothes before, appeared in front of her clothes, and extended outwards to show several black lines over her body.
