Chapter 76 Orochimaru and the Daimyo of Land of Sound's 'Secret Deal'
Night.
The terrifying screams and giant snake hisses within the Black Cloud Bandit Hideout finally came to an end.
Ryun and Nawaki jumped down from a high place, then actively entered the hideout to meet Orochimaru.
"Pack up all the valuable things inside and take them away..."
Orochimaru waved his hand tiredly, then casually sat on a large rock.
"Yes!"
The two nodded simultaneously, then began a thorough search for valuables.
A bandit hideout of over a thousand people had so much loot that even storage scrolls couldn't hold everything. In the end, they could only take the most valuable treasures, while goods and food supplies were burned to ashes.
After wiping out the Black Cloud Hideout, the three went to a black market to convert the valuables they had looted over the past few days into cash.
Orochimaru directly divided the money on the spot, splitting it into three shares.
Regarding this huge profit outside of the mission, Ryun knew he couldn't refuse it. He used the excuse of buying a high-quality weapon to give his share back to Orochimaru.
"Konoha has strict control over weapons. An academy student who hasn't graduated can't buy a good sharp blade from a weapon shop in the village..."
"Orochimaru-sensei, could you help me pick a good sword or blade that can conduct chakra? The money from this plus the mission reward should be enough. If not, I can add more..."
Ryun explained his situation. He had lightning-natured chakra, and if he could pair it with a good weapon, his combat power would improve significantly.
"Heh... You know quite a lot for an academy student... You even know about weapons that can conduct chakra..."
Orochimaru narrowed his eyes, licking his lips with a sinister smile.
His student Nawaki, who had been with him for so long, still didn't know about such weapons, yet Ryun, an academy student, possessed knowledge far beyond his age.
"I heard clan elders discuss such weapons before, so I've always been curious..." Ryun laughed awkwardly in explanation.
Orochimaru nodded slightly. The explanation was barely acceptable, and he didn't intend to press further.
"Chakra-conductive metal is valuable, but it shouldn't cost that much money... Fine, I'll look into it when we return..."
"Thank you, Orochimaru-sensei!"
After resting and cleaning up in a small town for half a day, the three headed straight for the capital city of the Land of Sound.
After a day's journey, Orochimaru finally led the two into the Daimyo's palace.
For such a small country, the palace was surprisingly grand.
The three were personally received and welcomed by the Daimyo. Ryun noticed that the Daimyo of the Land of Sound seemed to have an unusually close relationship with Orochimaru, which made him speculate about many things.
In the original story, Orochimaru established Otogakure in the Land of Sound. He hadn't expected the two to already be 'collaborating' this early.
Orochimaru and the Daimyo had a secret discussion in a private room, while Ryun and Nawaki stayed in the reception hall, enjoying food, drinks, music, and dance performances.
Several dancers moved with alluring and seductive grace, their skills quite impressive. The two teenagers were momentarily entranced.
Nawaki's face turned red with embarrassment. He had only seen such suggestive scenes in small comic books before. Now, witnessing this kind of erotic dance up close...
Combined with the strange fragrance from the dancers, his blood was clearly stirred, feeling both shy and eager to watch.
Ryun handled it much better. In his past life, he had watched plenty of adult films. The dancers had excellent figures, and their revealing outfits were indeed enticing, but it wasn't enough to make him blush.
Another factor was their exaggerated makeup. Ryun couldn't stand the thick white-powdered faces with only a small red dot for lips, which looked quite eerie.
Even if he were fully developed, seeing this at night might not 'raise his spirits'... (Unless the lights were turned off)
For now, he simply appreciated their dance moves. Their boneless flexibility made many movements impressively stunning.
He couldn't help but sigh at how comfortable the lives of nobles were.
Night.
Ryun and Nawaki shared a room, while Orochimaru accompanied the Daimyo out for an unknown destination.
When Orochimaru returned to the palace the next morning, his clothes were stained with blood. Ryun guessed he had gone to do some dirty work.
It was likely related to another part of the S-rank mission. Orochimaru didn't disclose the details, and neither Ryun nor Nawaki dared to ask.
After that night, Ryun noticed the Daimyo became even more enthusiastic toward them!
The three stayed in the palace for two days, experiencing the joy of being treated like royalty.
Afterward, Orochimaru bid farewell to the Daimyo, took a large map with marked coordinates, and led the two boys on another 'bandit-hunting journey.'
They wiped out most of the bandit hideouts in the Land of Sound, giving the people a much better living environment.
Though this S-rank mission wasn't highly dangerous, it was far more exhausting than expected.
Of course, exhausting as it was, the rewards were equally substantial.
Many would want such missions but couldn't get them. Only Orochimaru, as the Hokage's student, could take on such low-risk, high-profit tasks.
The S-rank and A-rank missions took over a month to complete.
By the time they entered the Land of Fire and saw Konoha, Ryun's suppressed emotions finally relaxed.
The excitement of returning home made him eager. As soon as they entered the village, he parted ways with the other two and rushed straight home.
Unfortunately, when he arrived, his mother Asuka wasn't home. After thinking for a moment, he headed to the Senju compound.
To his surprise, Kushina wasn't there either. Mito Uzumaki said she had left early but didn't know where she went.
"What's going on... Why are neither Mom nor Kushina here..." Ryun frowned unconsciously.
After some thought, he seemed to realize something, his eyes lighting up.
"I know where Mom is!"
A month had passed since he left Konoha. Ryun guessed that Asuka's flower shop must have already been set up.
Since she wasn't home during the day, she must be running the shop.
When he arrived at a certain street, a newly opened storefront with flowers piled at the entrance immediately caught his attention.
"Yunkā Flower Shop... What a nice name!"
Seeing the shop sign, Ryun couldn't help but smile.
