Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Am I the Clown Here? Don’t You Dare Run After School!
Not long after Ryun finished beating someone up, he almost collided with Kushina at the classroom door.
"What are you doing? Why are you in such a rush?"
"Ah... I heard from classmates that you were fighting outside. Are you hurt?" Kushina quickly asked.
She looked Ryun up and down, her concerned expression making him chuckle. "Are you worried about me? Afraid I got beaten up?"
"Mmm... Ah... No, I'm not!"
Kushina was about to nod in agreement but suddenly realized how intimate the question sounded. She panicked and shook her head in denial.
"Oh... So you weren't worried about me? Fine, I was just overthinking it..."
Ryun put on a 'dejected' expression, avoiding her as he slowly walked to his seat.
His back looked incredibly lonely, like a soulless corpse just going through the motions.
"!!!"
Kushina immediately panicked.
She wanted to explain, but her thin face made it impossible for her to admit she had actually been concerned.
Just as she didn't know what to do, the teacher entered the classroom.
Kushina obediently returned to her seat, her face red as she glanced at Ryun. He was hanging his head low, his long hair covering his expression.
From her angle, he looked 'heartbroken'...
'Is he... sad because of what I said?'
'D-does that mean... I'm that important to him?'
The thought made Kushina's earlier nervousness vanish, replaced by a secret joy.
'Huh? Why is she reacting like this?'
Ryun had just been messing with her, wanting to tease the little girl until she turned into a full-blown 'big red tomato.'
But when he peeked at Kushina, she wasn't flustered or anxious—just slightly blushing, with a faint smile on her face.
'Wait... am I the one overthinking things?'
The possibility hit him like a ton of bricks.
He had finally found a cute girl perfect for 'raising,' but just as he started enjoying it... it seemed to be over.
'The clown... is actually me.'
Ryun sighed in disappointment, then slumped onto his desk like a pile of mud.
He wasn't slacking off—this was math class, and he was paying attention.
He was just lying on the desk to massage his sore legs. After all, he had run a lot in the morning and walked a long distance, so his legs were exhausted.
Due to the angle, Kushina couldn't see him rubbing his legs and assumed he was 'limp' because of her words.
Kushina tore off a piece of paper, wrote something, crumpled it into a ball, and discreetly threw it at him.
Ryun felt something hit his head. He glanced down and saw a paper ball.
He turned to look at Kushina, but she was sitting upright, eyes forward, pretending to be focused on the lesson.
'Not even looking at me? Then I won't read it.'
Ryun left the paper ball where it was, deliberately ignoring it.
Kushina saw this out of the corner of her eye and grew even more anxious.
'Is he mad at me?' The thought made her quickly throw another one.
This one landed right in front of Ryun.
Ryun found it amusing. Then, with a puff, he blew the paper ball away.
'Jerk! So what if I denied being worried? Don't you know girls are shy? So petty!'
Kushina gritted her teeth in frustration. Unwilling to give up, she threw a bigger one—this time hitting Ryun square on the head.
Ryun acted like he didn't notice, even scratching the spot where it hit...
Still refusing to pick it up!
Seeing this, Kushina's veins bulged, her face turning red with anger.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Ryun suddenly heard strange knuckle-cracking sounds, followed by a chilling breeze that made his hair stand on end. Curious, he looked at Kushina.
She was glaring at him coldly, two strands of red hair floating ominously, her fists clenched so tightly they made cracking noises!
Ryun shuddered and immediately picked up the paper balls.
'An angry Kushina is terrifying!'
Cold sweat broke out on his forehead. The legendary 'Red Hot Habanero' was no joke—even his body instinctively reacted with fear, remnants of his past self's trauma.
'Why do you have to be like this? You made me mad for no reason!'
Seeing him scramble to pick up the paper balls, Kushina secretly smirked in satisfaction.
"Are you looking for a beating? Believe me, I'll do it!" —This was from the bigger paper ball, the second message.
Reading it made Ryun sweat even more. He forced an awkward smile at Kushina.
"Don't be mad. I ran out to help you earlier, but you guys finished too fast... Are you hurt?"
This was the first message, full of concern.
Seeing these words, Ryun instantly relaxed. No more sweat, and he sat up straight again!
He wrote a reply and tossed it back.
Kushina saw the incoming paper ball but hesitated for a few minutes. After glaring at Ryun one more time, she finally picked it up.
"How could I get hurt? You already know I'm hiding my strength. Your big brother is actually really strong, so don't worry about me..."
The words, especially "big brother," made her blush furiously.
Suppressing her embarrassment, Kushina took a deep breath and calmly tucked the paper ball into her bag.
This conversation was too private—no one else could see it, or she'd die of shame.
She tore off another piece of paper and resumed their secret exchange.
"I've never seen you fight before, so how would I know how strong you are? How about... we spar after school?"
"..."
Ryun was speechless.
'She's cute, but her personality is way too wild.'
Always challenging people to fights—what kind of girl was this?
Before he could reply, another paper ball hit his head.
"What? Scared? Coward..."
Ryun rolled his eyes at her.
This girl was pushing her luck. Did she still think he was the same 'soft and easy to bully' Uchiha Ryun?
He picked up his pen and wrote in bold, powerful strokes:
"Don't you dare run after school!"
Reading this, Kushina couldn't help but burst out laughing.
The sound immediately caught the teacher's attention.
"Kushina, what's so funny? Is my lesson a joke to you?" The math teacher scolded sternly.
