Chapter 288: Chapter 286 : Yamata no Orochi!!

Caesar initially thought that this trip to Japan wouldn't be as smooth as expected.

While on Sleipnir, he took some time to log into the "Night Watch Forum," reviewing information about the previous members sent to Japan, hoping to prepare himself in advance.

After all, the Japanese branch is extremely xenophobic, and the "Yamata no Orochi" is the largest and most long-established criminal organization in Japan. It has controlled the Japanese underworld for over a thousand years.

Every time a new gang leader takes control of a territory, they must personally visit the Yamata no Orochi shrine to burn incense and show respect for the criminal laws set by the organization.

Yes, even in the underworld, there are "laws" that must be followed to survive and gain legitimacy.

Yamata no Orochi's rule is simple: control violence with even greater violence. This is the principle they follow.

The organization was founded over a thousand years ago and is divided into three major and five minor families, all of which are Hybrid. Their influence is so great that even European Hybrid families avoid provoking them.

Even Cassell College can't force them to comply; they can only adopt a softer approach.

Therefore, the Japanese branch has developed a tradition of mistreating the agents sent from the headquarters, and the academy can only turn a blind eye and pretend not to notice.

Both sides maintain a tacit understanding that as long as the bottom line is respected, they won't completely sever ties.

In fact, it could be said that Yamata no Orochi rules over the dark side of Japan. Even Cassell College's people are unlikely to receive much respect from them.

When looking at it closely, it's shocking.

The agents sent from the headquarters to Japan all suffered cruel, unknown mistreatment. In fact, some of them even developed the habit of bowing to others after returning.

However, the situation seemed to take an unexpected turn. The "welcome ceremony" prepared by Yamata no Orochi wasn't a trap or an ambush; instead, it was incredibly luxurious.

At the top-tier nightclub, the finest Japanese chefs gathered, preparing fresh seafood caught that day, meticulously sliced and served on the table.

Meanwhile, youthful girls, with their smooth skin and scant clothing, danced joyfully to the music, creating a spectacle that was overwhelming.

"Here you go, Caesar. Your wish has been granted."

Adam sat on the tatami mat, watching the scene unfold in front of him, and said lightly, "The Japanese atmosphere is indeed as legendary as they say."

Beside him, Chu Zihang didn't seem too interested in the extravagant setting. He sat in a corner with a cold expression, holding his alchemical sword in his arms, his gaze distant as if deep in thought.

Caesar, on the other hand, was fully embracing his role as a playboy, laughing and chatting with the girl kneeling next to him.

The party was at its peak. It seemed like everyone had forgotten about the attack from the Oni Clan earlier. By the end, both the guests and the hosts were enjoying themselves.

The hotel where Gen Chisei had arranged for them to stay was the famous Peninsula Hotel, one of Tokyo's most luxurious spots. They even had a presidential suite on the top floor, and each room had been specially redecorated to suit their individual personalities.

The service staff were handpicked beauties with the grace of traditional Japanese "Yamato Nadeshiko."

Dressed in high-slit, form-fitting qipaos, they moved gracefully as they unpacked their luggage, prepared the bathwater, and brewed some specialty brown rice tea.

Before leaving, they would throw a flirtatious glance and leave a suggestive remark, saying, "If you need anything, feel free to ask."

But sadly, the flirtatious glances were aimed at the wrong person.

Caesar had just found the girl he could love for life—the kind of love at first sight.

As for Chu Zihang, with his cold, expressionless face, it was hard to imagine what kind of girl he would fall for.

And Adam? Well, he wasn't interested in "beautiful women" at all.

After a tiring day, everyone should've gone to rest. But the three of them seemed to have some unspoken understanding. No one intended to sleep. Instead, they gathered in a triangular formation on the sofa.

Caesar glanced at the silent Chu Zihang, knowing that, given his personality, he probably wouldn't speak up on his own. So, he shifted his gaze to the other side and said, "Let's talk about today. Adam, do you have anything to say about what happened?"

"You mean the Oni Clan?" Adam tilted his head, shrugging to show he was just as confused. "To be honest, like you guys, I don't know why they came after me specifically."

"Could it be that you've forgotten something?" Chu Zihang thought for a moment and said, "Like maybe you visited Japan a long time ago or had some past contact with them?"

Adam thought for a moment and then confirmed again, "No, I absolutely have not had any contact with the Oni Clan, and I don't even know them."

"I was curious before why the principal sent you to Japan," Caesar said, narrowing his eyes, as if he had made a connection. "Now it seems, maybe the principal already knew you had ties with the Oni Clan in Japan, so he specifically sent you here?"

Knock knock.

At that moment, Chu Zihang lightly tapped the table and gave a glance.

His look meant that there was a listening device in the room, so they needed to be careful about what they said.

"It's fine. This isn't just something they want to figure out, we do too," Caesar said, slightly nodding, but he didn't seem too bothered. He crossed his legs and shouted, "Hey, I know you're listening. If you don't mind, you can come in and join us."

Meanwhile, in a room downstairs, Gen Chisei and two others were sitting in front of the listening device.

Upon hearing Caesar's voice through the device, Gen Chisei chuckled lightly, took off his headphones, and said flatly, "Since they already know, there's no need to keep listening."

"Young Master, should we go up?" asked a man with a fierce face, hesitating.

"Are you really that stupid or pretending to be?" another man scolded. "Crow, if you're not using your brain, you can throw it away. They clearly did it on purpose, and you're asking if we should go up?"

"What? Yasha, do you want to donate your brain to me?" the fierce-faced Crow retorted, upset.

"Enough," Gen Chisei interrupted them, taking off his headphones. He picked up his alchemical sword and said calmly, "For the next few days, Sakura, take the three specialists who came from the headquarters and let them enjoy Tokyo."

"Yes, Young Master," the girl nodded slightly.

"What about us?"

Yaksha and Crow pointed to themselves and asked, "Should we stay behind to make sure those three don't cause any trouble?"

Gen Chisei glanced at them, "I'm more worried about you two causing the biggest mess. Let's just hope you don't end up stripping the clothes off the people coming from headquarters and hanging them on the beams."

"Impossible!"

Crow continued to argue, but Yaksha was deep in thought.

"Alright, come with me."

Gen Chisei let out a long sigh, his expression turning slightly serious. "My father is gathering representatives from the Yamata no Orochi. We need to head back."

"Is this related to the 'Oni Clan'?" Crow asked.

"The rats that usually hide in the shadows are suddenly taking a risk to steal 'Adam' from headquarters," Gen Chisei said, frowning, a feeling of unease rising in his chest. "This isn't going to be simple. Let's go back and see what my father and the others plan to do."
