Most of the criticisms are directed at all clans, not just the Hyuga clan.
"Doesn't the village care about this?" Izumi couldn't understand this behavior. Perhaps the clan members' law enforcement actions were a bit excessive, but they shouldn't be feared by everyone, right?
"Have you ever seen the village promote anything good about the Uchiha?" Kazuki's words cut deeply into Izumi's heart. The Uchiha had countless merits for the village, yet none were ever publicized, highlighting the high-level targeting of the Uchiha.
"Do you know why I indirectly insulted Danzo? Because that old guy orchestrates various policies against us Uchiha, monitors us, targets us, and even steals clan members' corpses for human experiments during wartime." Kazuki wasn't slandering Danzo; these were all things he had done.
By the end of their patrol, Izumi was in a daze, not even remembering how she got back. Kazuki's words had a significant impact, hard for a ten-year-old who had just graduated from the ninja academy to accept.
"It seems I need to find something for Danzo to do; otherwise, it's troublesome if he keeps watching me." Kazuki knew that having everyone's eyes on him meant he was safe but also brought some inconveniences, like being constantly monitored.
Sitting in his office, Kazuki pondered how to divert the attention of the Third Hokage and Danzo. He needed to keep them busy for a while, allowing the Uchiha to stabilize and eliminate the hardliners' influence.
He started jotting down his ideas. "Captain, you called for me?" Uchiha Kaze, another member of the Third Squad, entered.
Kazuki folded the paper and looked at Kaze with a serious expression. "Kaze, can I trust you? Trust you in every aspect?"
"Please, go ahead, Captain," Kaze replied, expressionless.
Uchiha Kaze was low-key and silent in the clan, known by only a few people. However, he was no less worrisome than Uchiha Kiyama. Kiyama was hot-tempered and impulsive, while Kaze was more like a silent threat. He didn't make promises but would follow those he acknowledged wholeheartedly.
Handing the folded paper to Kaze, Kazuki leaned in and whispered, "I need you to take a day off tomorrow and deliver the information on this paper to the bounty guild. Make sure to disguise yourself so no one knows where you came from."
The bounty guild handled assassination tasks and bought information. They didn't care about the source as long as the intel was accurate. Of course, to make money, they would sell the information to everyone.
"Understood," Kaze replied calmly, taking the paper and leaving without a trace of emotion.
Kazuki sighed, watching him leave. When the squad was together, Kaze was slightly better. Alone, he was like a wooden stake—always the same expression and tone.
His Third Squad lacked normalcy. Even the newly joined Uchiha Izumi was a lovesick fangirl, crushing on Itachi since childhood. Kazuki wondered if, despite her not being placed in a village-assigned team but in the police force, she and Itachi would still cross paths and end up together.
In the Hokage's office, tension was palpable. The Third Hokage, looking calm, addressed Danzo, "I've already had the Anbu release your men. According to their statements, they were ordered to invite Uchiha Kazuki, but when he refused and they tried to act, he arrested them for attacking the police force captain under unknown identities."
"They were then sent to prison overnight."
"That vile Uchiha brat! He dared to insult me!" Danzo, already embarrassed, didn't hide his fury, even in front of the Third Hokage and advisors Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado.
"Absolutely audacious," the advisors agreed, astonished that an Uchiha would openly insult a village elder, even if not by name. How did things escalate so much in a few days?
The Third Hokage, though finding Kazuki's actions reckless, focused on a critical point. "Danzo, you went to the police department to get your men?"
That move was self-incriminating. If he hadn't gone, the village might have ignored the issue. But his direct involvement confirmed suspicions.
"Danzo, how could you be so foolish? You shouldn't have gone personally," Koharu added.
"Now the charges are confirmed. Initially, people might have doubted, but your visit validated them," Homura remarked.
"Am I not allowed to intervene when my men are captured? Who gave them the nerve!" Danzo knew these factors but didn't care, confident the village wouldn't side with the Uchiha.
However, Kazuki's unexpected defiance complicated things. The Third Hokage, displeased, said, "You could have seen him directly but not near the police department or Uchiha territory. That would provoke a backlash from the Uchiha."
