Chapter 47: 47. Hiroshi arrived.

"You talk too much," Mei said, spitting on the Mizukage. "Going to start, or need a minute to find a tool that makes you feel less pathetic?"

The Mizukage's smirk totally dropped. Mei's dad looked away awkwardly.

"You're going to re—"

"ROOAAAR!"

A loud roar shook the whole place, shockwaves cracking the walls. Mei's shackles shook like crazy. Before—BOOM! The wall behind her blew up. Mei grinned, she was free!

Same time, "Mizukage-sama!" A guard ran in, looking terrified. "Mōryō—Mōryō's loose!"

The Mizukage's eyes went wide for a sec, then he played it cool.

Mei wasn't waiting around. She touched her earring—Hiroshi's gift—and a little vial of glowing green stuff fell into her hand. She drank in one go. A warm feeling spread through her, even her arm grown back!

"Damn, Hiroshi," she muttered, smirking. "Always overdo it."

She pulled a massive poleaxe out of her earring.

'Seriously, where did she keep that thing long thing?' Guards thought.

On the other hand, "Still want to resist, Mei?" Mizukage said.

Mei just swung her poleaxe, getting a feel for it, and then charged. The Mizukage barely dodged the super-fast swing, the ground cracking where it landed. Mei keeps attacking. Her hands were shaking, her muscles were screaming, but she wasn't giving up.

The Mizukage jumped back. "Think you can get away?"

'Have to get out.' She thought as she used the edge of the poleaxe like a spear and stabbed forward. It scratched Mizukage's cheek, drawing a little blood.

"Water Style: Water Wall!" A giant wall of water shot up. Mizukage used powerful jutsu to defend himself.

Mei didn't even slow down. She yelled and brought the poleaxe down.

SHRING!

It sliced right through the water like it was nothing. Water sprayed everywhere, but she was dry, eyes blazing.

The Mizukage scowled. "You… pest!"

"Lava Style: Tidal Wave Jutsu!" Hot lava came rushing at her.

Mei stood her ground. For him. For everyone counting on her. She lifted her poleaxe, channeling chakra.

SHING!

The lava split and went around her, melting the ground but leaving her untouched.

"No way!" the very first time stoic Mizukage saw the emotion.

Mei used that small opening and slammed the hammer part of the poleaxe into his ribs.

CRACK!

He flew into the wall, coughing up blood.

'I have to finish this quickly and Find the others.' She could almost hear Hiroshi's annoying smirk, telling her to try harder. But she was getting weak. The healing potion made her even more hungry and thirsty.

'Just one more hit!' She raised the poleaxe for the final blow, then she heard—SHHK!

Pain shot through her back. Her knees buckled. 'Not now… please, not now.' She looked down and saw a sword sticking out of her stomach.

"You should've listened, Mei," her father said.

She knew he was a coward, but this? Her eyes got watery.

"Think this is the… end?" she busts out, grabbing the sword.

The Mizukage walked over. "After you, we'll hunt down anyone who helped you. They'll have a slow death."

Her heart sank. They'd kill everyone? Even the threat of Mizukage was just talk; at this point, her mind was full of pain and hunger, and Mizukage was taking over.

"No!" she yelled, her voice breaking. She pulled the sword out of her stomach with a huge amount of blood—She didn't care. They have to pay!

She grabbed another vial of glowing red liquid and without reading warning—when not to use it—threw it in her mouth.

As she cracked the glass vial with her teeth, a warm rush went through her.

Her wounds closed, her chakra reserve skyrocketed, and her vision cleared.

The Mizukage sneered. "You're just making this worse for yourself."

Mei glared at him and charged, her poleaxe a blur. The blade cut through his defenses, pushing him back with every swing. Her dad jumped in, trying to sneak attack her, but she spun around and blocked his sword with the pole.

CLANG!

Sparks flew.

"You were always a failure," her father said jumping back.

"And you're a coward."

The Mizukage made some hand signs. "Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" A huge water dragon came roaring at her.

Mei swung her poleaxe.

SHING!

The dragon split in half and turned into a spray of water.

She kept going, hitting them hard, breaking through their attacks. The Mizukage was bruised and bleeding. Her dad was down to just the hilt of his sword.

Mei was fighting with everything she had. 'Well, I fucked up don't I?'

they heard another roar, this time even more frightening but she ignored it, the real problem was her vision was getting blurry again,

because of the lack of nutrients in her body, the poison lost its effect in just a few seconds.

It was the opening Mizukage was waiting for; he grabbed her wrist, yanking the poleaxe away. She tried to fight back. Her dad came up behind her, grinning.

THWACK!

He punched her in the gut. Mei gasped for air.

The Mizukage grabbed her throat and slammed her onto the ground. "It' end here..."

Her dad stood over her.

Mei's world was fading, everything going dark. But she wouldn't give up. She tried to move, to breathe, to scream—but nothing happened.

'Was this really… the end?' she thought.

Hiroshi walked into the prison cell, his eyes immediately finding Mei. She was pinned to the ground, bruised and exhausted. The Mizukage had his hand around her throat, and her dad was just standing there, watching.

Something cold and sharp went through Hiroshi. He was furious, but he stayed calm. He gripped his dagger tighter taking step forward.

"Well, look who finally showed up," Mizukage chuckled. "I was hoping I'd get to—"

SLASH.

A thin line of golden light flashed. The Mizukage froze mid-sentence.

SHHK!

A thin vertical redline appears on Mizukage's body; it expended, spiting Mizukage in two from head to toe. Blood sprayed everywhere as his body fell apart, guts spilling out.

Total silence.

Mei's dad stumbled back, his mouth hanging open. He was shaking all over. The Mizukage—the strongest guy he knew—was dead, just like that. How can this be happening?

Hiroshi didn't even look at him. He knelt beside Mei and gently touched her. Warm, green chakra healed her instantly.

Her eyes fluttered open. The pain was gone. She looked up at Hiroshi.

"You… came," she whispered.

He gave her a small smile. "Of course I did."

Konan, Kisame, and Sasori showed up just then. They stopped their eyes wide. The Mizukage was in two pieces on the ground.

Mei, all healed up, slowly stood. Her dad was still standing there, totally freaked out.

She turned to him, gripping her poleaxe. "You betrayed me," she said, her voice cold.

He tried to say something, but nothing came out.

Mei didn't wait. One quick swing and his head was gone. It rolled on the ground between the Mizukage's two halves.
