Naruto: Reborn with the Tenseigan

Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Nara Shikashin: Have I Seen Anyone from the Hyuga Main Family? Never!

"You... what do you want to do? Y-You'd better let me go, or else... ugh."

Hyuga Seishi tried to struggle, but his body wouldn't obey him.

Takashi's finger pressed down hard, forcibly interrupting the opponent's ninjutsu with brute force.

"Trash!"

The word "trash" exploded in Hyuga Seishi's mind like a sudden clap of thunder. His white pupils contracted violently several times, and he hung limply from Takashi's hand like a puppet.

"Takashi, let Seishi go! Release him right now!"

The few branch family members responsible for protecting Hyuga Seishi could never have imagined that things would turn out like this.

They had no idea what Takashi had done to frighten them so badly that their bodies refused to move. What was even worse was that Takashi was gripping Hyuga Seishi's neck as though he was about to choke him to death.

A branch family member killing a main family member?

Was that even possible?

Under normal circumstances, they would have thought it a joke. But right now, they couldn't laugh at all.

Could it be that this Seishi fellow didn't even know about the caged bird curse mark?

Ignoring the branch family members, Takashi casually released Hyuga Seishi, causing him to drop to his knees again.

As Hyuga Seishi knelt, Takashi placed his hand on Seishi's head. A small, blue ball of spiritual energy entered Seishi's body through Takashi's palm.

"Who sent you?"

"The clan leader..."

Hyuga Seishi answered dully, like a puppet on strings, stupidly and blankly responding to Takashi's questions.

"The clan leader, he..."

Hyuga Seishi spoke very slowly, with halting words, making Takashi frown.

"Forget it, I'll see for myself. It might hurt a bit, bear with it."

A blue radiance enveloped Hyuga Seishi, causing him to convulse all over. Takashi closed his eyes, and rapid flashes of memory appeared in his mind.

The clan leader's summons; issuing a top-secret mission: force Takashi of the Hyuga to hand over his puppets and the core secrets of their construction. After obtaining these, they were to give him a little "lesson" and replicate a copy of the puppet's core secrets.

The scenes flashed quickly to the moment they entered the camp and then sneaking near the medical tent.

In other words, these guys had been skulking around without drawing anyone's notice.

"Maybe I should collect a little interest first?"

Recalling the past mistreatment he'd suffered within the clan, Takashi suddenly smiled. He slowly raised his right hand, placing it once again on Hyuga Seishi's head, his slender fingers pressing down.

He bent down and whispered in Hyuga Seishi's ear, "In your next life, learn to restrain yourself."

Thump~~

A burst of blue chakra surged into Hyuga Seishi's brain. Suffering a violent mental impact, Seishi let out a muffled groan and collapsed softly to the ground.

"Now it's your turn."

Takashi turned around, his cold gaze fixed on the branch family guards.

Though he despised the Hyuga clan, he hadn't actively sought trouble with them. But who would have thought Hyuga Tennin, that old fossil, would conspire with the Third Hokage to come after him.

Not only that, but they even planned to give him a "small lesson" and leave him with a deep, unforgettable memory?

Fine then, I'll reluctantly give you a memory you won't forget.

If a main family member died, that old man Hyuga Tennin would surely feel the pain, right?

Hah!

No trace of the strength or courage a true leader should have, yet he has the audacity to call himself Hyuga Tennin?

Utterly shameless.

If the previous generations of Hyuga clan, saw how cowardly he was, they'd never rest in their coffins.

Kill them and dispose of the bodies.

Takashi had no intention of hiding the bodies. He simply put them into a sealing scroll, cleared any traces of their arrival, and then continued to sit back, legs crossed, leisurely reading.

It was as if the clan's people had never appeared.

At the command center, after arranging the reinforcements, Nara Shikashin suddenly recalled that among the reinforcements there had been a small Hyuga squad. After arriving at the camp, however, they had disappeared.

He had been too busy to pay attention at the time, and now that things were handled, he remembered.

Worried something might have happened, Nara Shikashin rushed hurriedly to the medical tent.

However, Takashi looked as if nothing had happened, sitting there reading with his legs crossed.

"Senior, you were looking for me?"

Takashi put down the book and stood up, stretching lazily.

So they were not here for Takashi?

Nara Shikashin was puzzled and asked tentatively, "Takashi, did anyone come looking for you just now?"

Takashi feigned confusion. "Does that pretty medical-nin count? The lovely-looking one?"

"..."

The hell with 'lovely-looking.' I was worried someone came to cause you trouble!

Nara Shikashin raised his right hand, sliding his thumb across his lips. "Don't go messing with the medical staff for no reason! Be careful; Lady Tsunade might come after you."

"Understood."

Takashi smiled and nodded.

"Then take a good rest. I still have lots to handle at the command center."

Back in the command center, Nara Shikashin patted his forehead.

What a mess: The Third Hokage is pulling his tricks, and Takashi's doing whatever he wants. Nara Shikashin was caught in the middle, pleasing no one.

Fine, I've never seen the Hyuga clan people. Since I've never seen them, why should I care if they're missing or gone?

The command center already had enough trouble; he had no time to deal with these nuisances.

Don't ask—if you ask, I know nothing!!

So, that's how the matter remained concealed. Takashi and Nara Shikashin both acted as if nothing had happened, each going about their own business.

Several days passed in a flash.

There was no response from the people sent out. The Third Hokage was getting restless. He immediately ordered the Intelligence Division to contact Nara Shikashin.

When the message reached the camp, Nara Shikashin nearly lost it.

I knew this would happen!!

Alas, having boarded Tsunade's "pirate ship," Nara Shikashin had no chance to jump off and could only bite the bullet and carry on.

The Third Hokage, still cunning, used the guise of "concern for the Hyuga main family" to approach Nara Shikashin.

Nara Shikashin could only report truthfully.

What Hyuga main family members?

Never seen them.

No matter who came to ask, that was his reply: I haven't seen them.

When this information got back to the village and into the Hokage's hands, the Third Hokage was stunned.

Never seen them?

He sensed that this was a big problem. If it were just a few branch family members missing, the Hyuga clan wouldn't say much. But a main family member had vanished!!!

"Investigate! We must get to the bottom of this!"

Others could disappear or die, but not a main family member of the Hyuga. Even more so, this main family member had gone on a shady mission to the front lines.

Now he was gone, his fate unknown. The Third Hokage had to give the Hyuga clan an explanation.

If they were alive, they had to be found. If they were dead, the bodies must be recovered.

The Third Hokage instinctively dispatched the ANBU to the camp to investigate. But he forgot that the ANBU now wasn't what it used to be.
