"Sarutobi and Uchiha, huh?"

"I heard Uchiha Shisui was the top graduate this year."

"But the age gap is insane."

"Yeah, six years old against a twelve-year-old? Isn't the result obvious?"

The crowd couldn't help but murmur with interest. After all, both the Uchiha and Sarutobi clans were pillars of Konoha.

Even if few knew that Asuma was the Third Hokage's son, his age and size gave him the obvious edge.

Just then, a familiar voice rose from the crowd.

"I'm putting my bet on that kid Shisui,"

Taro declared confidently.

"I can smell the underdog in him."

He paused for dramatic effect.

"Though I can't smell shit, to be honest."

From the side, another familiar voice chimed in—it was Kenji.

His usual aggressive tone was oddly muted, replaced by something… dumber. Still loud, just less bite.

"Hah? There you go again, licking boots just 'cause he's Guts' student, huh?"

Taro leaned closer, eyes glinting with mischief.

"Wanna make it interesting?"

Kenji tilted his head, wary.

"If Shisui wins, I get to grope your girlfriend's ahh. Just one squeeze. If he loses, I'll give you 10,000 Ryo."

Kenji blinked. "Wait—why would you wanna touch her ass though?"

Taro smirked.

"Because you'd have lost 10,000 Ryo, you idiot. I'd be the winner."

Kenji paused, then grinned like he'd cracked some master code.

"Ohhh. I get it. Fine then—no need to bet. You can do it for 5 thousand Ryo. You pay me, and you get your little squeeze. Smart, right?"

Taro stared at him for a moment.

"..."

"Deal."

Kenji nodded proudly, arms crossed like a genius.

When the two finally faced off, the contrast was striking.

Shisui barely reached Asuma's shoulders, looking more like a younger sibling tagging along than a proper challenger.

"Minato-san, who do you think will win?"

Guts asked suddenly, casting a glance at Namikaze Minato.

Minato hesitated.

To be honest, he didn't know much about Shisui. Asuma, on the other hand, had always been a solid performer—consistent, disciplined, with strong fundamentals.

Among the students still in the academy, Asuma was one of the few he could confidently see as a future Chūnin.

Then Guts grinned and said,

"If he loses, how about you teach Shisui the Flying Thunder God?"

Minato raised an eyebrow. "You don't want to learn it yourself?"

Normally, people jumped at the chance to learn such a legendary jutsu. If anything, Guts should have said, 'Teach me the Flying Thunder God'—not offer it to someone else.

"What would I do with that?" Guts shrugged.

"My legs are enough."

That earned a few raised brows. Even Tsunade and Minato's students gave Guts a few sideways glances.

Who the hell talks like that about a space-time ninjutsu?

Minato gave a dry cough and replied,

"The Flying Thunder God is a secret technique developed by the Second Hokage. I'm not allowed to pass it on. But how about the Rasengan instead?"

Since the Rasengan was his own creation, he could teach it as he pleased. And truth be told, he liked Shisui. The kid reminded him of someone who carried the Will of Fire.

"Whatever works," Guts said, waving it off.

He wasn't that invested. Though, he did think Shisui wielding Rasengan might look pretty cool—too bad he wouldn't be the one using it.

Under Yuhi Shinku's command, the match began.

Asuma wasted no time, pulling out his trench knives—the same kind he'd wield years into the future. Guts narrowed his eyes.

He's already using them at this age?

Across from him, Shisui unsheathed his twin short swords—compact, no longer than a meter each.

The clash began immediately as both rushed in, blades ringing in sharp, rhythmic beats that echoed through the arena.

"What a tight hand-to-hand exchange,"

Obito commented, gripping the railing.

"Asuma's really come far."

"No," Kakashi countered, eyes fixed on the duel.

"Shisui is better."

Obito shot him a doubtful glance, just in time to see Asuma channel wind chakra into his trench knife. With a precise slash, he struck Shisui's ankle.

"Yes!" Obito grinned.

"Told you—Asuma's better."

But Kakashi didn't respond.

Something was off.

There was no blood.

Shisui quickly retreated, his movements smooth and unpanicked. He rotated his ankle casually, and Asuma frowned.

That strike... didn't feel like cutting through flesh. More like striking solid metal.

Shisui then looked toward Guts, who gave him a nod.

Smiling, Shisui tugged up his pant leg and unstrapped the weights around his ankles.

"You've gotta be kidding..." Obito muttered.

Boom!

They hit the ground with a deep thud, cracking the stone floor.

The crowd gasped. It wasn't quite Rock Lee-level, but still—no six-year-old should have been wearing that kind of weight.

"Mr. Asuma," Shisui said, eyes narrowing,

"I'll get serious now."

He gripped his blades once more—and that's when it happened.

His chakra spiked. Those with experience immediately noticed it.

His black pupils shifted to scarlet, with a single tomoe spinning in each eye.

"Sharingan!?"

Obito reeled back in disbelief.

"No way! He's already awakened it?! At six!?"

Minato let out a quiet breath.

"Incredible. No wonder they call him a prodigy."

The comment pierced Obito's ego like a kunai.

Kakashi smirked.

"A real genius. Unlike a certain someone who's always late."

"Shut up, Kakashi!!"

Back on the field, Asuma tensed. He could feel it. Shisui wasn't the same anymore.

And then—Shisui vanished.

"Nani?!"

Asuma's eyes darted around in panic. A burning sensation flared by his side.

He turned—just in time to see a short blade, wreathed in fire, racing toward his shoulder.

Uchiha Style: Flaming Sword Cleave!

"So fast!"

"That's Uchiha swordplay! On a kid, no less!"

Asuma barely blocked it in time, intercepting the fiery slash with his trench knife. Wind and fire clashed, sending sparks flying.

The heat was intense, stinging his arm and making his grip falter.

Before he could recover, Shisui leapt and spun, kicking Asuma's wrist midair.

Clang!

His trench knives were flung away.

And before they even hit the ground, Shisui's blade—its flames now extinguished—was at Asuma's throat.

Yuhi Shinku didn't even hesitate.

"Winner—Uchiha Shisui."
