Naruto: Reborn in His Younger Self

The next day, the sun rose slowly above the horizon.

After a night of rainfall, the sky above Amegakure looked exceptionally clear and blue beneath the sunlight.

"Ahhh!!!"

Naruto let out a big yawn as he stretched, crawling out of bed. After washing up, he stepped out of the tower, enjoying the fresh, rain-washed air.

"Huh? Big Brother, you're up so early!"

Nagato turned around when he heard Naruto's voice. Naruto immediately noticed the dark circles under his senior brother's eyes. They were extremely pronounced, indicating that Nagato hadn't slept all night.

"Brother, you didn't sleep all night, did you?"

Nagato rolled his eyes and replied tiredly, "What do you think?"

Recalling that he, Shisui, Itachi, and the others had gotten drunk the night before, Naruto figured that Nagato must have stayed up to watch over them and ensure their safety.

Naruto looked around and asked, "Didn't you switch the night watch with Konan?"

Nagato shook his head. "No, I told her to get some rest halfway through the night. Now that you're up, I'm heading to bed."

With that, Nagato turned and disappeared into his room to finally rest.

Shortly after Nagato retired, Shisui, Itachi, Killer Bee, and Kisame woke up one by one. After everyone freshened up, they headed out into the village for breakfast.

Since Naruto had arrived in Amegakure, his popularity had skyrocketed due to his immense strength and the countless feats he had achieved while traveling across the shinobi world.

His exploits had become legendary. Even powerful villages like Konohagakure hadn't dared to issue a wanted poster for him. The Fourth Raikage had been defeated by Naruto in battle. The Akatsuki, a feared mercenary group, had failed to subdue him. And the Kazekage himself—Gaara—publicly declared, "Naruto is my brother."

Now, Naruto was officially the leader of Amegakure. Who would dare come here and stir up trouble? Only someone with a death wish.

Under the combined protection of Nagato's Six Paths of Pain and Naruto's overwhelming strength, Amegakure entered a period of rapid development and peace. With no threats from outsiders, commerce flourished. The village's waterways allowed easy transportation, and the locals thrived by running small businesses.

After finishing breakfast, Naruto led everyone back to the Amegakure tower, where Orochimaru was already waiting in the office.

"Uncle Snake, as punctual as always," Naruto greeted with a grin.

Orochimaru offered a sly smile and teased, "Naruto, I heard you got drunk last night."

Naruto nodded without shame. "Yeah. It was a good night, so I let myself go a little."

Orochimaru chuckled and sighed. "I've known you for years, and this is the first time I've seen you drunk."

Naruto didn't respond further and instead gestured for everyone to sit down. At that moment, Konan walked into the room.

"Konan-nee-san, you're here."

Konan nodded and apologized softly. "Sorry. I slept a bit late, so I got up later than usual."

Naruto smiled warmly. "It's okay. If anything, I should be the one apologizing. I messed around all night and left the entire village's safety to you and Nagato-nii-san."

Itachi, seated across the room, spoke up. "Why not form a sensory unit and establish barrier seals around the village, like we did in Konoha?"

Shisui, hearing Itachi bring it up, nodded thoughtfully and added, "Yeah, I was thinking the same."

Naruto sighed and replied, "I've already set up a barrier around this tower. As for the whole village, it's not necessary. Nagato-nii's Rain Tiger at Will Technique covers a vast area with sensory detection. Plus, I can enter Sage Mode or use Kurama's chakra mode, and my sensory abilities become even more powerful."

He paused and continued, "Besides, if our real enemies show up, barriers won't be enough to stop them."

Itachi nodded solemnly. That was true.

If someone like Obito—who could phase through solid objects with Kamui—wanted to infiltrate, no barrier would stop him.

Naruto looked around and said, "Alright, Nagato-nii stood guard all night and is resting now, so he won't be joining us. I'll brief him later."

"Let's begin the meeting."

He stood in front of everyone and spoke with clarity and seriousness.

"According to our plans, the Allied Shinobi Forces formed by the Five Great Nations will be officially assembled in Kumogakure soon. Once that happens, the army's marching routes and attack strategies will be disclosed!"

"Now, on Akatsuki's side, there are three major threats—primarily Obito and Kabuto's combined forces."

"First, the army of 100,000 White Zetsu clones."

"While these clones aren't individually powerful, they have one terrifying trait—they can absorb a shinobi's chakra and then perfectly transform into them."

"No standard sensory method can detect the difference."

"If even one of these clones sneaks into the allied forces, it could trigger a disaster of mutual suspicion and internal assassinations."

Shisui frowned and sighed. "That's deadly. Even with the alliance, there's still a lot of mistrust between the five nations. If White Zetsu clones start eliminating people from the inside, things could spiral out of control quickly."

Naruto nodded. "That's why I need to address this problem personally."

Itachi looked surprised. "You can solve it?"

Kisame grinned. "Yes, Itachi-san. Naruto can handle it. Once he enters his Nine Tails Chakra Mode, he gains the ability to sense emotions—especially negative ones like hatred and killing intent. That kind of perception can identify a White Zetsu clone, even if their chakra matches someone else's."

Itachi's eyes widened. "Really? But how do you know that?"

Kisame sighed and rubbed his chin. "Because I experienced it firsthand."

Next to him, Killer Bee snickered, and even Samehada—the sentient sword fused with him—shivered as if laughing in betrayal.

Kisame glanced coldly at Samehada and muttered under his breath. "Traitorous blade…"

Shisui was still doubtful. "Even if you can detect them, Naruto… how can you cover such a massive battlefield all by yourself?"

Naruto smiled confidently. "Simple. I'll use Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu. I can create thousands of clones, each capable of sensing negative emotion, and spread them across the battlefield."

Shisui's expression turned from disbelief to awe.

Right. Naruto had Kurama's immense chakra. Of course he could pull it off.

Konan, watching Shisui's astonished face, turned to Naruto with a smile full of pride and emotion.

She had made the right choice placing her faith in her junior brother.

Naruto continued, "The first threat is covered. The second one—and perhaps the most troublesome—is Kabuto's Edo Tensei army. That bastard has been digging up graves across the world, collecting the remains of powerful shinobi and reviving them for battle."

He clenched his fists. "It's sick. Using the dead like puppets is inhuman."

At those words, Orochimaru's expression stiffened. He coughed awkwardly several times and looked away.

Naruto blinked, then smiled sheepishly. "Uncle Snake… don't worry. I wasn't talking about you."
