Naruto: Path towards Godhood

Chapter 23: We Won

Three Minutes,

For three whole minutes, Ken kept releasing the fire. This time, he was sure that the person inside the flame was Hotoshi and not the Earth clone.

So, why did he keep using this Jutsu even though it was forcing him to overexert?

Because he wasn't sure if Fire Style could kill a person. Not that he doubted the power of his fire style.

It's just when Sasuke used the same move on Naruto, it didn't even affect him.

Considering that person was Naruto, he didn't think much of it before. But when he realized that his fire Jutsu couldn't even burn people to ash, he started to fear the lack of firepower.

He couldn't give up. Because if he did and if Hotoshi survived by a little bit, then three of them would die.

Of course, if he didn't give up, then there was a large chance he wouldn't be able to take them to the nearest camp and get some treatment.

So, why do that? Why take such a risk?

Trust!

Ken didn't just trust his friends. He also trusted his sensei. Just like how his friends trusted in him, deep down, he believed his Sensei had the same kind of trust.

So, he made sure that the Jonin was dead before finally stopping his Jutsu. At this moment, all three of them felt a sense of relief.

They barely had any strength to move. Only Ken had some. He dropped the Ninja Wires and walked toward them.

They were still standing. They didn't know where this strength was coming from, but they were still standing.

As Ken reached them, he wrapped his arms around them and said.

"We won."

A strange sense of pride emerged in their heart. Even though their bodies were forcing them to sleep, they kept their eyes open and revealed a large smile on their faces.

"We won."

They didn't laugh. They didn't cry. They just smiled and slowly closed their eyes.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Three of them fell at the same time.

One Hour Later,

"They are here. They are here. Saori-san, come here quick!"

Shinku and his team had arrived on the battlefield and were searching for Team 25.

The level of destruction caused in this forest made three stunned. It didn't look like a battle between Genin and Chunin.

It was a battle between Jonin.

So, Shinku was anxiously searching for the team until he finally found them. But seeing their conditions, he quickly shouted.

A female ninja rushed toward him. She wore a Chunin attire that looked no different than a Jonin.

"Oh my god! Their situation is bad."

Even without testing them, Saori almost gave up. But when she looked at Shinku's expression, she knew she couldn't give up.

So, she started checking their vitals.

At this moment, another shout came from the side.

"Shinku-san, you need to come here ASAP."

Shinku gritted his teeth and decided to leave. When he came there, he saw a corpse. A corpse that was half-burned.

Seeing this burned corpse, he knew this was the power of Ken's Fire Release.

"So, this is their enemy. Have you recognized his identity?" Shinku asked with a deep anger in his eyes.

"Yes, but you won't believe it. No, you will believe it, but I can't believe it."

The Jonin, checking the body, almost bit his tongue as he said.

"This is the body of a Jonin. His name was Hotoshi, a name Sand Jonin who is known for Wind Release."

"No wonder the forest was destroyed so much." Shinku nodded and said.

Jonin's eyes widened as he shouted.

"Don't you realize what I just said? This is a Jonin, a Jo-nin. The same rank as us. There are no other bodies nearby. And, the charred on his body is due to Fire Release."

"Don't you get what I am saying? Your students took down a Jonin."

Shinku blinked his eyes for a moment.

Yeah, he did expect his students to take down Chunin.

After all, Ken was strong enough to kill a Chunin on his own.

But not Jonin.

Jonin wasn't called the high-end military force of a village for no reason.

They were strong enough to kill dozens of Chunin and at least fifty or hundred Genin by themselves.

This much power was a part of why a Jonin could become a Jonin.

They had higher Chakra Reserves than any Chunin. They had more experience than any Chunin. To become a Jonin, you needed to know at least two chakra natures.

You had to have completed a lot of missions, and finally, your fighting strength should be equalized in all parts.

Whether it included Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, or Genjutsu.

It took him a while to digest this information. Soon, a smile appeared on his face.

"Yeah, my students took down a Jonin."

"Shinku-senpai, come here!"

Saori shouted, which made his smile disappear. Shinku looked at the Jonin and said.

"Kirito! Put the corpse into a scroll. This can be a huge achievement for my students."

Kirito nodded and put the corpse inside a scroll. Then, both of them rushed toward Saori, who had finished examining three bodies.

"How are they? Are they going to be fine?"

Despite their combat ability, Shinku was extremely worried about their current situation. After all, their achievement would mean nothing if they died.

"All of them are seriously injured." The first thing that she said almost made his heart stop.

Saori pointed at Ken and said.

"He has several broken bones, very low Chakra Reserve, and sword wounds. But he also has the strongest recovery among these three. Even if he didn't get treatment right now, he can survive."

Then, she pointed at Jenzi and continued.

"He is in a similar situation but not because of his recovery. He has more injuries than this girl, but these aren't life-threatening injuries and can be healed within a week or two."

Finally, when she looked at Mito, she became sad.

"Only this girl has a serious problem. Unlike these two, she didn't suffer many external injuries, but her Chakra had depleted so much that if she hadn't consumed the Food pill, she would've died."

"And, because her body had deteriorated quite a bit, she needed urgent medical attention to help her body recover enough to rekindle her Chakra."

"If I start treating her right now, these two can be in deep trouble, especially this guy. He doesn't have a strong regeneration, so if he continues to lose blood, he will die due to blood loss."

"Even if I clog his blood veins, it can only be done for half an hour. After that, it needs to be open otherwise, he will die. But it will take me almost an hour to heal her."

"So, what should we do?"

Hearing her words, Shinku fell into a deep dilemma. On the other hand, Kirito quickly came to a realization and said.

"Saori, clog his blood veins for now. We can put one on Shinku-san's back and another on the front."

"Then, we can put this girl on my back. Since Shinku-san can't maintain his fastest speed with those two on his body, you can run and heal her at the same time. At least you can keep her alive."

Hearing his idea, Shinku immediately nodded and looked at Saori for confirmation.

"It will be hard, but I can at least keep her alive. But we absolutely can't face any enemies on the way."

"Let's let's just pray to Sage of Six Paths that we won't meet any enemies." Shinku said with a serious tone and asked Kirito to put them on his body.

Kirito lifted Ken and put on his Shinku's back. At this moment, Ken's eyes slowly opened as he uttered.

"Sen-sensei!"

"I'm here, Ken. Don't worry; we will keep you alive at any cost." Shinku's face couldn't help but be lit up with joy when he heard that voice.

Saori was in a state of disbelief at how Ken was able to wake up despite his condition.

"M-m-mito!" Ken tried speaking, but his throat could barely move.

Despite that, Shinku understood his words, and some tears appeared in his eyes.

"I understand, Ken. Mito will survive. We will make sure of that. Now, go to sleep. You need to recover as well."

At this moment, Shinku wiped away his tears and looked at Kirito with a serious expression.

Even Saori could understand his mood. They must save these children at any cost.

Kirito put Jenzi on his front while Saori clogged his blood veins to stop the blood flow, putting him in a semi-dead state.

Kirito put Mito on his back, and they started running towards the third Platoon.

The only person who had a hundred percent chance of reviving them was none other than Tsunade.

So, they needed to reach the third platoon as soon as possible. It was their mission.

Even Kirito and Saori could feel the weight of this mission.

A Team of Genin that faced and killed a Jonin must survive at any cost.
