Naruto: Paradise for One [R-18]

Chapter 62: Hanging out

After the BBQ, Yakumo practically dragged Saul over to her place. Hinata tailed along, yet the brown haired girl took her place at Saul's arm. She was not happy.

"Saul-kun..."

Saul looked back and smiled apologetically at the black haired girl. The veins leading up to her eyes were bulging as she watched them with her Byakugan active, expressionless. Hmm, that was probably fine. He'd ignore it for now.

"After you, Saul-san." The noble girl opened up the door for him, disregarding normal etiquette. The nut has finally started to crack.

Saul sat Hinata down in a chair by herself, much to her chagrin.

"Could I get you some lemonade?"

"That would be nice, Yakumo." The girl had made a show of remembering his favorite drink too. He sipped from the glass of lemonade as he glanced over at Hinata. The girl was practically boring holes into the glass with her eyes.

"Saul-san, what do you normally do in your free time? I find myself getting quite lonesome during my afternoons, nowadays."

Hinata spoke up for him, "Saul-kun hangs out with me during the afternoon!" She puffed up her cheeks.

"Hinata, you know that's not all I do. I'm always happy to accompany you, but I've been doing a lot of things on the side actually. The shadow clone jutsu allows you to do so many things at once. Let me show you two something I've been working on for quite a while now..."

Saul brought up his right palm, made a single hand seal with his other hand, and focused. This jutsu was much more difficult than the ones he learnt prior - it had different effects depending on both the amount of chakra supplied and the hand seal used. Its variability allowed for much more precise control - but also much more room for error.

A green aura surrounded his hand. Hinata was confused.

"Saul-kun, you shortened the seals for the Mind-body palm? You only need one hand seal now?"

He shook his head. "No, look carefully. This is not the Mind-body palm." Sweat slid down his forehead as he changed his hand seal, lengthening or shortening the extended green aura. It was difficult to maintain control this precise over his Chakra. He opened and closed tenketsu with each change of his hand seal. The chakra flow had to match the hand seal, or the jutsu would not work.

Yakumo inquired. "Isn't that the jutsu that those Iryo-nin use?"

Hinata gasped, "Medical ninja!?"

"This is called the Mystical Palm Technique. The backbone technique by which medical-nin earn their reputation for healing their allies."

Saul dispelled the Jutsu. It was currently extremely chakra intensive even for a mere demonstration. Even though the chakra from the jutsu was supposed to form a sort of spherical rotation, Saul's chakra control was not good enough yet. All of the chakra did not return back into his palm to be recirculated as it should have, leading to an excessive loss in his reserves.

Yakumo smiled. "Medical-nin are quite rare, no? Who taught you the Mystical Palm Technique?"

Saul explained, "The Konoha hospital is always looking for people willing to learn the jutsu. They told me the motion for medical reform flopped. Ninja want to learn how to kill better. Why would you waste your time learning how to heal? Time spent learning to treat injuries could be spent instead on working to never get injured in the first place."

Hinata's excitement died down. "So it's useless, then."

Saul shook his head. "Not useless. The biggest limiting factors of medical training are chakra control and time spent studying human anatomy. Do you know the theory of parallelism?"

Both Hinata and Yakumo gazed at him with blank stares. Saul grinned. What was he expecting? These women were ninja!

"Simply speaking, the more clones I have learning one thing, the faster learning that thing becomes, correct? You might think it scales linearly, double the clones learning means double the speed of learning, right?"

They both nodded. Saul laughed. "If only it were that simple. You see, if I created 2 clones and put them in a pair to fight each other, this would train my combat skills. But if I created 8 clones and had them fight each other in pairs at the same time, would I get better at combat four times as fast?"

Yakumo started thinking, while Hinata immediately nodded. "Of course, Saul-kun! That would only make sense."

He laughed. "If only it were that simple. I only have enough chakra to create nine clones total at the moment and still have enough chakra in each clone to either cast the Mind-body-palm jutsu and another D rank jutsu, or to cast multiple D-rank jutsu in succession. Considering I'm training and not actually in a real fight, the time I spend would be much longer than in an actual confrontation. The chakra I have limits the amount of training I can do."

That ignored the diminishing returns of parallelism itself, but Saul wished to keep things simple for the girls. Explaining the mathematics and proofs behind Brent's Principle within Parallel Computing was not something he thought the girls could even comprehend - nevermind even explaining how he knew such a thing to begin with.

"But there are other ways I can train that could aid my growth without expending too much Chakra. Medical Ninjutsu seemed like one such thing, especially considering our current team composition."

Yakumo smiled, "Saul-san, that's so sweet of you~!"

Oh right, she often became ill. Saul had admittedly not been thinking from that angle when he made his decision, but he'd definitely still shamelessly take credit.

"Of course, Yakumo. I didn't like seeing you sick the other day..."

Hinata looked between them with shock, then turned to him with sad eyes, "Saul-kun... W-why didn't you tell me about this before...? I never saw you learn this. I'm with you all the time!"

Saul knew this reaction from Hinata was more of a result of envy towards Yakumo rather than actually upset about him not telling her everything.

"Hinata... It's exactly because I'm with you that I gain the strength to do all these things with my clones. It gives me time to relieve the pressure from some of these taxing things. I appreciate my time with you, the same as I care for Yakumo's well being.

Plus, I can't even heal with it yet. Learning the Jutsu is only the first requirement. You have to have a good understanding of Human anatomy to even heal with this jutsu - otherwise it'd only do more harm than good. I originally wanted to show you once I at least could heal simple cuts."

"Okay..." Hinata had a small smile. This cute woman was so easy to please.

"If you'd like," Yakumo interjected, "I could help do my fair share in relieving you as well, Saul-san." She fluttered her eyelashes. "Maybe we could continue where we left off, last time."

Yakumo put a finger to her red lips seductively. Unlike the former Hyuuga Heiress, she often used makeup. Saul remembered how close they were to a kiss before.

Hinata didn't quite catch on to the innuendo within the noble woman's words. But from observing Saul's reactions, she started to begin to get a clearer picture of what she meant exactly. Her perfect Saul-kun was getting aroused!

He tried to signal her with his eyes to give them some private time like he did last time, but this time she pretended not to see. Hinata would accept any punishment for this later. She really didn't want to share him with anyone else.

Saul summoned a shadow clone.

"Hinata, could you come out with me for a bit? I forgot to talk to the Konoha guards regarding our situation with the Duke of fire. We'll need to explain to their side as well, yes? Just to make sure there isn't any trouble from a surveilling ninja?"

But... But...

"..."

So she really wasn't good enough alone for him, huh. Hinata smiled weakly, "I'll be waiting for you at home, Saul-kun. I won't sleep until you're back. So come home to me quickly - alright?"

Saul nodded. "I'm just hanging out with Yakumo, Hinata. It's no big deal."

No, that was a big deal. A very big deal. He was very clear about his intentions with Yakumo to her in private. Hinata knew what he wanted... And yet... She had no choice but to accept it. She couldn't lose him. He was everything to her. What he wished for... Was more important than her stupid, selfish, jealousy.

Hinata waved a smiling goodbye to him as one of Saul's clones escorted her out.

Author's Note: R-18 chapter with Yakumo coming up next!

In this chapter, I wanted to showcase in this chapter Hinata's reluctance towards another woman joining the relationship. Most Harem novels just brush off the very realistic feelings of jealousy, and the desire to passively interfere - even if one has already agreed upon the sharing before. After all, jealousy over our partners is ingrained within one's very instincts as a human being. It is not suppressed so easily.

I hope you all enjoyed the maneuvering displayed by Saul, Yakumo, and Hinata as they each pushed for their own separate goals behind what would normally be a mundane conversation! Also look forward to Saul learning more medical Ninjutsu in the future. This knowledge will be key for his future power progression as is Genjutsu.
