Naruto: Our Goal Is To Dig Every Corner of Konoha

Chapter 870: Chapter 870 A Reunion With The Onion Knight

"Alright, alright. Since I've reminded you, I naturally have a way to ensure Loki's safety. After all, we're friends now, so helping out a friend is no problem at all. You don't need to worry about Loki's safety. She won't get into any trouble under my watch. As for you all, focus on strengthening yourselves. Otherwise, your current strength is still too weak!"

Asahi said confidently. There was no need for Finn and the others to protect Loki, as he had it covered.

"Is that so? Well, thank you very much, Mr. Asahi! Loki is safer with you than she would be with us!"

Finn and the others quickly bowed their heads in gratitude.

"No need for thanks, it's just a small favor. You just need to take care of your own matters!"

Asahi replied. The Dungeon was still shrinking, and there would surely be more chaos ahead. As for the Xenos, they were all under Asahi's care now.

The Xenos are an entirely different existence.

They aren't monsters, nor are they humans. They should be considered a new race. But unfortunately, Orario doesn't treat them as such. In their eyes, anything that comes from the Dungeon is a monster, and monsters have always been the enemies and dangers faced by Orario's adventurers.

Therefore, regardless of what the Xenos are, they can't coexist peacefully with the people of Orario. The Xenos have a hard life, having to face not only adventurers but also the monsters within the Dungeon itself.

In the original work, the Loki Familia's attitude towards the Xenos was firm. While Ais and a few others showed compassion, recognizing the Xenos as peaceful and letting them go, the rest were not so forgiving. For the majority of the Loki Familia, there was only one choice when it came to Dungeon monsters: kill them.

Any that weren't spared would be eliminated, which is why Asahi had decided to take charge of the Xenos situation himself. This way, future issues would be resolved.

With that settled, they only had to wait for the story's events to unfold. After gathering their gear, Finn and the rest set off once again, under the pretense of exploring the Dungeon. However, only Freya knew the true objective of the Loki Familia.

Once they reached the deeper levels, the Loki Familia once again crossed over into the world of Dark Souls. The last time, they had left after defeating High Lord Wolnir. Now, they were set to continue their journey. The mysterious doll, which is needed to progress further, had already been acquired.

So, nothing could stop them from advancing on the next map.

"Suddenly emerging from the depths, only to find ourselves in a frozen wasteland… I really can't get used to this. The environment in this world is just too bizarre!"

Tiona commented, her tone filled with exasperation.

"Compared to the Dungeon, this isn't too bad. After all, some floors in the Dungeon are freezing, while others are pleasantly cool."

Finn smiled. There are great changes between the floors of the dungeon. When the Zeus Familia reached the 59th floor, it was recorded as a glacier floor. But due to later changes, it transformed into a tropical floor, without any trace of the previous rainforests.

The Dungeon's environmental shifts were far more terrifying than anything they had encountered here.

But just after everyone continued forward, a thick, oppressive presence emerged behind them.

"There are still hidden monsters!"

Everyone turned to see a large, rotting creature, part wolf, part oversized rat. Its belly was grotesquely swollen, with bones stretching out from underneath, giving it a nightmarish appearance.

"This one's weak. Leave it to me!"

Without hesitation, Bete charged at the monster and delivered a powerful kick, sending it flying with ease. The monster was knocked unconscious, but before it could recover, it unleashed a lightning attack.

Fortunately for Bete, his shoes had a special enchantment, allowing them to absorb magical attacks and turn the energy to his advantage. As the lightning was absorbed into his footwear, he delivered a final crushing kick, causing the creature to explode.

"It wasn't strong, but its ability to go invisible was troublesome. It reminds me of those watchdogs we encountered earlier, like it was teleported here from another dimension. Stay alert!"

Finn warned. They had been caught off guard before, and now they couldn't afford to be careless. Every variable needed to be accounted for.

"Don't worry, Captain! We've learned our lesson and won't fall for the same tricks twice!"

Everyone nodded immediately, and the strength of the monsters after that soared. Of course, it was nothing to them.

The group nodded in agreement as they pushed forward. The strength of the monsters had increased, but that wasn't a problem for them. However, the monsters here had unique magical abilities and combat strategies, making them more unpredictable.

One particularly dangerous enemy was a flame witch, who wielded powerful fire magic. She used it to toy with their opponents, just as a smaller boss might.

If her speed had been slightly faster, she could have easily been considered a humanoid boss.

The flame witch was massive, standing nearly three meters tall, and wielded a weapon that released fire with every swing. However, the sheer strength of Finn's group allowed them to dominate the battle.

"Each time we reach a new area, the strength of the monsters increases. I wonder where those Freya Familia folks are, probably off drinking somewhere!"

Finn muttered, feeling the pressure but also some curiosity. He knew that the Freya Familia wouldn't be able to reach this area, as the key items to unlock the barriers were in their possession. The Freya Familia could only watch from afar.

" Forget about the Freya Familia. They aren't worth our attention right now. Let's focus on finding more monsters!" Tiona urged, ready to continue.

But soon after, they encountered a familiar face.

"Isn't that the Onion Knight? We meet again!"

Indeed, it was the Onion Knight, someone they had crossed paths with several times before. His goal was to find Yhorm the Giant, the Lord of Cinder, so it made sense that he would be here.

"Oh, it's you all! I see you've made it this far. Not surprising, given your strength. So, what are you planning to do next?"

The Onion Knight asked, his tone as friendly as ever.

"We're heading to the Irithyll Dungeon, or more precisely, we're trying to reach the Profaned Capital from there!"

Finn explained directly. The Onion Knight was a trustworthy ally, so there was no reason to withhold information. These details had been passed down to them by the Fire Keeper and her companions.

After hearing Finn's words, Onion Knight couldn't help being stunned for a moment.
