"I accept!"

At this point, Zabuza had no other choice.

"I accept as well!"

Once Zabuza agreed, Haku followed without hesitation.

"Alright then."

"Wood Style."

Nagi extended his hand, and a steady stream of Wood Release chakra began to gather in his palm.

"Sir!!"

Zabuza instinctively shielded Haku with his body.

But the next moment, an unbelievably pure surge of life force poured into his own body.

The wounds inflicted by the Executioner's Blade began healing rapidly.

"What's wrong? You don't want me healing your subordinate?"

Nagi asked with amusement.

"No, it's a misunderstanding!"

Zabuza immediately dropped to one knee and bowed respectfully.

He hadn't expected Nagi to actually help treat their wounds.

For the first time, Zabuza felt that maybe he hadn't made such a bad decision after all.

Under the powerful regenerative effects of Wood Release, both of them were fully healed in no time.

"Sir, we pledge ourselves to your service!"

Zabuza and Haku knelt in unison.

"Relax. I don't have any outrageous demands for you two."

Nagi then brought up the matter of Gato.

"I want you to seize all of Gato's assets—everything he owns."

This was part of the reason Nagi needed subordinates in the first place.

Just as the Third Hokage couldn't do without Danzo, someone had to handle the dirty work behind the scenes.

And Nagi certainly didn't have the time to personally handle it all.

"I understand completely!"

Zabuza caught on instantly.

This kind of job was nothing unusual for rogue ninja like them.

"I still have about one billion ryō saved up from missions. I'll offer it all to you!"

Zabuza gritted his teeth and handed over the savings he'd accumulated from countless jobs.

He didn't yet realize that this might be the best decision he ever made in his life.

That it would lead him, once a stray dog, to one day sit upon the Mizukage's seat.

"One more thing—don't call me 'sir' or 'lord.' Just call me Nagi."

He was getting tired of being called 'sir' all the time.

Coming from Zabuza, it made him sound like some kind of underworld boss.

'Nagi' was just easier on the ears.

"Understood… Nagi-sama!"

Zabuza still felt 'Nagi-sama' was more fitting.

Nagi waved them off, signaling for them to handle things on their own now.

This was exactly why subordinates were useful.

If he had to personally take out someone like Gato, that'd be embarrassing.

With everything in motion, Nagi returned to the village in the Land of Waves.

He made an official announcement: "From today forward, the Land of Waves is free of criminal rule!"

"Ah! This… this is a kindness we will never forget!"

The village elder was nearly moved to tears.

With Nagi's arrival, it was as if a just ruler had descended from the heavens.

"Oh, and benefactor, this is our village's greatest treasure. Please, take it with you."

The elder motioned for a few men to carry over something wrapped in a red cloth.

It looked heavy—at least several dozen pounds.

"What is this?"

Nagi unwrapped it to find a piece of armor-like material, solid and heavy.

"This item is quite mysterious," the elder explained.

"One of our brave fishermen found it during a fishing trip."

"He said that when he discovered it, the fish nearby went wild, swarming around it like they were fighting over it."

"Even a giant sea beast appeared. Fearing something might go wrong, he pulled the nets early and returned to shore."

As the elder spoke, Nagi began to examine the object more closely.

He didn't know exactly what it was, but he could sense a vast amount of Water-nature chakra stored within.

When he released his own Water chakra into it, the object responded—it resonated with his chakra!

"We usually use it for irrigating farmland," the elder added.

"Every time we bury it in the fields, by the next day there's an abundance of fresh water."

But the elder wasn't a shinobi—he couldn't properly explain the artifact.

"We don't know what this thing is, so we figured it's better to give it to someone with real insight."

He spoke with utmost respect. For them, it was just a tool for farming.

But for someone like Nagi, it might have real value.

"Alright, I'll accept it. And in return, I'll send someone to help you build your bridge."

Nagi had already decided—Zabuza would stay behind in the Land of Waves for now to handle the cleanup.

"Thank you, benefactor!"

After that, Nagi headed to Gato's base to check on Zabuza's progress.

Sure enough, by the time he arrived, the entire area was drenched in blood.

"Nagi-sama! Gato and his men have all been eliminated."

Zabuza wiped the blood from his face and reported immediately upon seeing Nagi.

"We've secured roughly 2.1 billion ryō in cash. The rest includes fixed assets and assorted resources, which we're still inventorying."

Nagi had to admit—having subordinates really did make things more convenient.

"Good work."

He reached into his weapon scroll and tossed out the Executioner's Blade.

"Here—your sword."

Zabuza's eyes widened the moment he saw it.

"My Executioner's Blade… Thank you, Nagi-sama!"

He hadn't expected Nagi to just return it without a second thought.

Then again, with someone as powerful as Nagi, the Executioner's Blade was practically scrap metal.

"Store part of the money in a space scroll for me—the rest can remain in storage for now."

He only needed enough for his needs back in Konoha.

"Understood."

Zabuza bowed deeply.

"Oh, and there's one more thing. Take a look at this—I want to know if you've seen anything like it before."

Nagi brought out the strange armor-like object the elder had given him, hoping Zabuza might have some insight.
