Naruto: My Ninja Cat Can Travel Through Worlds

Chapter 71: Chapter 70: I, Danzō, Am Invincible!

Boom!

As Danzō activated the Summoning Jutsu, a burst of white smoke filled the underground base of Root.

A massive beast, nearly seven to eight meters tall, emerged beneath Danzō's feet—lifting him high into the air.

It was none other than the legendary Dream Tapir.

With the body shape of an elephant, a long trunk, round ears, and a body covered in orange-brown fur, the monstrous creature radiated pure physical dominance.

Kaze wasn't unfamiliar with it.

In the original timeline, this creature could release powerful Wind Release suction that could drag enemies toward its mouth. Even Sasuke in his Susanoo form had struggled against its pull.

"Dream Tapir, go wild."

Standing on top of its head, Danzō gave the command in a low, calm voice.

Hisssshh!

The Dream Tapir swung its thick trunk upward, pointed it at the ceiling, and blasted out a jet of steam.

Meanwhile, Danzō vanished from the beast's head using Body Flicker.

As for the Root ninja who had initially wanted to back him up—after seeing the Dream Tapir appear, they all backed off without hesitation.

The beast was uncontrollable when enraged and didn't differentiate between friend or foe. No one wanted to get caught in its rampage.

"Mooohhh!"

The creature let out a deep, guttural bellow, its gaze locked directly onto Kaze. It opened its giant maw—and began sucking in the air violently!

Kaze felt a tremendous force pushing him backward, straight toward the beast's gaping mouth.

The watching Uchiha—including Aoba and the others—grew visibly tense.

Danzō wasn't just any shinobi—he was a direct disciple of the Second Hokage, with decades of experience and battle cunning.

Add to that his possession of both Hashirama cells and Sharingan—allowing him to use Izanagi.

This battle… they genuinely didn't know how Kaze could win it.

Sure, he could kill Danzō once, maybe twice… even three or four times.

But if Danzō managed to kill Kaze just once?

Then it was over.

"If I had known this would happen, I would've stopped Kaze…"

Uchiha Aoba bit his lip, feeling an overwhelming sense of guilt.

They had underestimated Danzō far too much.

But the more anxious they became, the more it contrasted with Kaze's utter calm.

He hadn't stormed the Root base on a whim.

He came fully prepared.

Not only did he know all of Danzō's trump cards—he had countermeasures for every single one.

"Fire Style…"

Kaze's hands flew into a blur of hand seals. He gathered chakra at his throat, and his chest swelled.

"Great Fireball Technique!"

With a roar, the condensed chakra exploded from his mouth, forming a massive fireball over three meters in radius as it shot toward the Dream Tapir.

Thanks to the creature's suction, the flames were caught in the wind, fanning them even wider.

By the time it struck the Dream Tapir's mouth, it had expanded to over seven meters wide!

"RRRAAAGHH!!"

The intense flames scorched its skin, and some of the fire even surged down into its respiratory tract—causing the beast to thrash and howl in pain, violently shaking its head to snuff the flames out.

As for Danzō—who had intended to use the beast in a pincer attack with his own Vacuum Blade…

His position had already been predicted by Kaze using heart-net.

Before Danzō could swing his wind blade, Kaze had already fired a lightning blade from his hand—using his own body as cover.

It pierced straight through his own right chest and into Danzō's heart.

But this wasn't just a sharp blade.

As a user of the Thunder Fruit, Kaze had used Danzō's heart as a resistor, superheating the current inside him in an instant.

A sickening sizzle filled the air, followed by the smell of cooked organs.

The scent of charred meat slowly wafted from Danzō's body.

"This… this is impossible…"

Danzō's eyes were wide as saucers, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

He couldn't recall ever revealing his summoning beast to the Uchiha clan.

By all logic, this should've been Kaze's first time seeing the Dream Tapir.

And yet…

It had taken him mere fractions of a second to figure out a countermeasure—restraining the beast instantly.

But that wasn't all.

Kaze had even reverse-fired a lightning blade, piercing straight through his own chest to strike Danzō.

The whole sequence had been clean, fluid—like the motion of a blade through silk.

It hadn't even taken a full second.

His combat instincts… were absurd.

Before their life-and-death clash, Danzō had written Kaze off as some reckless punk—blinded by power, naïve about the world.

But now, he realized the one being arrogant... was himself.

Kaze hadn't awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, but his combat talent—no, his genius—was on par with, or even above, Shisui's.

Another Madara…

The thought struck Danzō like lightning. Through his blurred vision, he almost saw the shadow of Uchiha Madara overlapping with Kaze's silhouette.

Still, thanks to the reality-altering power of Izanagi, Danzō didn't die on the spot.

His body turned transparent and faded away—the charred flesh scent in the air dissipating along with it.

But this time, Danzō didn't bother with long-range tactics.

If even the Dream Tapir couldn't restrain Kaze, no other trick would work either.

So he made a decision.

He'd trade death for death—use Izanagi's effect to take Kaze down with him.

Danzō narrowed his eyes, then suddenly charged forward with long strides.

As he ran, he glanced down at his arm—another Sharingan had closed.

"Wood Release: Root Burial Jutsu!"

Thick wooden roots exploded from his extended arm and shot toward Kaze like snakes.

They moved at blistering speed.

In a single blink, they had wrapped Kaze up tight.

But the technique didn't just boast speed—it had tremendous range and power as well.

So much so that even Danzō himself couldn't escape its radius.

The wildly growing roots dragged him in too.

The roots twisted and coiled, wrapping tighter and tighter.

Danzō's body was the first to be crushed, reduced to mangled flesh—absorbed into the giant tree as nourishment.

Whether it was the Uchiha or the Root operatives, everyone was stunned by the scale of the jutsu.

So much so that both sides stopped fighting, unconsciously looking toward the massive tree—nearly twenty meters in diameter.

Neither Kaze nor Danzō seemed to escape.

"Wood Release… from the First Hokage…"

"K-Kaze?!"

"Danzō didn't just learn Izanagi… he mastered Wood Release too?!"

The Uchiha stood frozen in shock.

With both Senju and Uchiha power at his disposal, Danzō was no longer just a threat—he was a monster.

"I've uncovered the greatest secret of the Sharingan…"

As they reeled, Danzō's voice suddenly rang out.

He reappeared beside the massive tree, his body fully intact.

Another Sharingan had closed on his arm.

"…and I am one of only two people who have successfully received the First Hokage's cells."

"With both Izanagi and Wood Release at my command, I am invincible!"

To Danzō, there was no way someone—even a prodigy like Kaze—could have survived being crushed by the Root Burial Jutsu.

But just as the words left his mouth—

A calm, almost mocking voice echoed right beside his ear.

"Invincible?"

"Last guy who said that... stopped thinking altogether."
