Naruto: My Name is Tobirama, It's Only Natural that I'm Insanely Good

Chapter 4: A Bizarre Second Trait and an Unexpected Gift

Early in the morning, as usual, Yamanaka Tobirama completed his training, had breakfast, and made his way toward the Ninja Academy.

The moment he stepped onto school grounds, the long-dormant "Deep Blue" in his mind suddenly flickered.

His footsteps paused slightly—but then immediately accelerated. He rushed toward the classroom he'd confirmed yesterday.

Back row, by the window—the throne of kings. He chose his seat, laid his head down, and started checking in on his long-lost cheat ability.

In his mind, the second box on the left was glowing faintly with a golden shimmer. It was labeled "Ninja Academy Student." But unlike the first trait, "Heaven Rewards Diligence," this one hadn't solidified.

The new "Ninja Academy Student" trait was still flickering between blue and gold, as if it could shatter at any moment. His intuition told him:

He could choose to lock this trait in, or—break it and write a new one.

Without hesitation, Tobirama shattered the "Ninja Academy Student" trait and began trying to input the backup traits he'd been saving.

> "God of Shinobi" – edit failed. A mental message told him title-type traits couldn't be used as talents.

He moved on to the backup traits he had planned:

"Boundless Energy"

"Nature in Motion"

"Body of the Sage"

As for something like "Immortality"? Not needed yet.

"Boundless Energy" would improve stamina and synergize well with "Heaven Rewards Diligence," letting him train longer and grow faster.

"Nature in Motion" would simplify learning jutsu and allow faster mastery—a great pick.

"Body of the Sage"… he'd save that one for later.

---

"Tobirama! Tobirama! The teacher's here—get ready for class."

Still face-down on the desk, Tobirama felt a light tap on his shoulder.

He looked up to see Kurenai smiling at him. He nodded in thanks, straightened up, and prepared for class.

But maybe it was because Kurenai had just said his name twice—"Tobirama, Tobirama"—that something strange happened.

Almost absentmindedly, Tobirama opened the second trait box and typed in:

> "Senju Tobirama"

The golden box flashed violently—then locked in place.

The name "Senju Tobirama" now shimmered faintly in gold.

Tobirama froze.

"...Shit."

I didn't mean to... I wasn't ready! That wasn't even finalized!

Wait—did I just waste my second trait?

His emotions spiked so hard that his body trembled, catching the attention of nearby classmates. Ignoring their confused looks, Tobirama shut everything else out and focused deeply on the newly locked-in trait.

The name "Senju Tobirama" glowed with a smug-looking shimmer, as if mocking him.

When he touched the trait mentally, a strange message echoed in his mind:

> "This won't happen again."

So... it worked?

Did I just glitch the cheat system?

But… what exactly does this trait do?

He concentrated for a while and noticed something:

His thinking was sharper. Much sharper.

While listening to Inoue-sensei's lecture on basic ninja theory, Tobirama found himself instinctively recalling various ninjutsu he had studied. His understanding of them was suddenly crystal clear. In fact, he was even forming new ideas to improve them—especially water-style techniques.

Jackpot.

Still buzzing with excitement, Tobirama fought to remain calm. If it weren't for the classroom setting and the need to maintain appearances, he might have started spraying water from his mouth like a sprinkler out of pure joy.

By the time the morning session ended, he could barely contain himself.

After a quick goodbye to Kurenai and Kaidōmaru, he rushed straight to the private training ground assigned to him after the last clan meeting.

There, he ran a full round of testing and finally cooled down.

---

The results were astonishing.

His understanding of ninjutsu had practically doubled—thanks to years of studying jutsu theory and now seeing it through a "god's perspective."

Many techniques that used to give him trouble were now absurdly easy. With this kind of clarity, his ninjutsu IQ—or "NinQ"—felt like it had caught up with the legendary Senju Tobirama he used to watch on screen in his past life.

The family's training scrolls now looked about as basic as the Clone Jutsu. He even had ideas on how to improve them.

Most shockingly, his water-style performance during practice had tripled in power. It was easier to control than fire or earth—and no wonder people online used to joke that Tobirama was the real Second Mizukage.

The "Senju Tobirama" trait, though unplanned, was like an advanced version of the "Nature in Motion" trait he originally wanted. It didn't just boost his ninjutsu aptitude—it also enhanced his mental strength and sensory perception.

The only downside?

He didn't inherit the Senju bloodline or all-element affinity.

Tests showed that his physical strength remained unchanged, and his chakra nature was still: Water, Fire, Earth, Yin, and Yang.

However, both his Water and Yin chakra had improved significantly.

Still, he was more than satisfied.

Even before the upgrade, his chakra volume was leagues ahead of other kids.

Now?

At just five years old, his chakra levels were on par with—or even exceeded—his father, Yamanaka Naraku, a current Tokubetsu Jōnin.

Thanks to "Heaven Rewards Diligence," his natural chakra growth was already fast. With the addition of "Senju Tobirama," he now had the brain and jutsu talent to become a true spell-casting powerhouse when the Third Shinobi War eventually hit.

As long as his body matured properly and he trained in taijutsu, he could easily graduate at jōnin-level strength. With the clan's protection, there was little risk of ending up as cannon fodder.

In high spirits, Tobirama returned home for lunch. After eating, he went back to the Academy.

Watching the energetic school grounds and the children playing around, the relentless tension he'd felt since reincarnating finally began to ease.

Ninja Academy... your king has returned.

A warm smile appeared on Tobirama's already handsome face. Some of the girls who noticed this cute junior couldn't help but blush.

Back in his classroom seat, he finally took the time to look more closely at his classmates.

Around Sarutobi Asuma, a group of boys had gathered. He was gesturing animatedly, clearly telling some story that had the others gasping in awe.

The girls, led by Kurenai, were also clustered together, chatting among themselves. But when the boys cheered, several girls glanced over with visible annoyance.

The Uchiha and Hyuga kids sat apart—quiet, aloof, with serious expressions. Still, the way they subtly turned their ears toward the noisy center made it clear they were listening.

In one corner, a kid from the Aburame clan sat silently, head down, doing who-knows-what.

A child from the Inuzuka clan was playing with a puppy.

The Nara kid—who didn't yet have his signature pineapple hair—sat yawning nearby.

And of course, Kaidōmaru was still munching on chips and scanning the room.

When he noticed Tobirama looking at him, Kaidōmaru hesitated, then grabbed a chip and reached out to offer it.

Tobirama waved it off with a smile and turned to look out the window.

Outside, the sun shone brightly.

A beautiful, peaceful day.
