Naruto: Monthly Refreshing Stand Abillity

Chapter 109: Scary Monsters

The most common forest creatures—rabbits, pheasants, boars—became Diego's best assistants.

The moment he entered the search perimeter, he activated his ability.

One after another, dinosaurs were birthed in the forest, sprinting off to hunt for the source of the Rainbow.

Three people followed Diego.

He had chosen them personally. Not only were they excellent in support, they shared a key trait—they were all blind.

Their way of perceiving the world relied on sensory ninjutsu, coupled with specialized tech worn over their eyes. These devices weren't mere tools; they were ninjutsu-based sensory machines capable of detecting both chakra and external temperature.

This technique, derived from serpentine thermal vision, was known as:

Secret Technique: Heat Eye

By channeling chakra into the machine, it would project a thermal imaging feed directly into the user's mind.

To them, the world wasn't seen through light or color—but through shifting patterns of heat.

As such, the Rainbow was invisible to them. Everything in their perception was just thermographic silhouettes.

The jutsu conflicted with normal sight, rendering it viable only for the blind.

But on battlefields, there were many who'd lost their eyes or gone blind from injury. Once trained in using this tool, they could return to active duty as full-fledged shinobi.

Some even became elite, combining their Heat Eye vision with unique jutsu.

Diego's three companions were such elite—Jonin of Iwagakure, each bearing forbidden techniques.

Through the scouting dinosaurs, Diego received intel, and with his team, stepped into the forest blanketed by the Rainbow.

All his knowledge of the Right Eye came from Sandmaru. In Diego's mind, Sandmaru's extraordinary reconnaissance abilities stemmed directly from that eye.

Thus, Diego was certain—once they'd entered this terrain, they were already being watched.

And he was right. Dinosaurs that crossed into the Rainbow soon detected the presence of the Eye of Sand watching from afar.

That meant only one option: advance quickly within the jutsu's domain, locate the target, and give him no time to escape.

The scouting dinosaurs sprinted ahead, weaving through the forest faster than Diego's group. They were the first to discover Ishiki Kujo's location.

Upon finding him, they pissed on nearby trees—marking them.

The stench would carry through the woods, guiding Diego straight to his prey.

As the scent-marking occurred, Diego's mouth curled upward in an unnatural grin, stretching to his ears—his fangs exposed, serrated and inhuman.

Dinosaur fangs.

The moment the little raptors identified Ishiki, they swarmed—but didn't strike. Instead, they prowled, circling, waiting.

Ishiki had time to observe them closely.

Scary Monsters seemed to scale its creations according to the base creature. Even after transforming, a wild boar wasn't going to morph into a titanic T-Rex.

So the ones facing Ishiki were around a meter tall, two meters long, weighing maybe thirty kilos.

They resembled classic depictions of raptors—sleek, muscular, short arms, long legs, featherless—straight out of fantastical works.

Agile bodies, rapid perception—they weren't massive, but their combat potential was high.

Especially for civilians.

But for Ishiki Kujo—a taijutsu expert—they were still dangerous.

The problem lay in this: these weren't just dinosaurs.

Ishiki could feel it—natural energy pulsing in them.

These weren't mere beasts—they were ninja dinosaurs. Like summoned beasts, but born of Stand power.

Comparable to the serpents Orochimaru summoned.

It hadn't crossed Ishiki's mind that they could reach such a level… but in hindsight, it fit.

If they were just ordinary dinos, they'd be pointless. They'd never even land a scratch.

But Ishiki didn't strike.

He was waiting—for the one who controlled them to arrive.

Through The Fool and the Right Eye of the Saint, he'd already glimpsed the four shinobi racing toward his position.

The lead one—his Left Eye was awakened.

Same as Ishiki's Right.

His mouth stretched wide to the ear—partial dinosaurification. That was how he resisted Gale Deluge.

This confirmed it. The one controlling Scary Monsters wasn't just some flunky—he was Diego Brando incarnate.

Because by established lore, the first user of Scary Monsters, Dr. Ferdinand, couldn't dinosaurize himself.

Only Diego, with the Left Eye of the Saint, could wield that level of mastery.

And just as Ishiki watched through the sand-borne Right Eye, Diego saw him back through the Left.

An instantaneous resonance surged between them—a synchronicity of the Saint's Corpse.

Amid countless trees, they locked eyes.

And both eyes burned with the same thing—fighting spirit and destiny.

Ishiki hadn't expected this. The Left Eye—in his enemy's socket.

But in the next moment, golden chakra surged from his body—Yang Release.

And at that same instant, the dinosaurs charged.

Ishiki had no intention of using jutsu.

Chakra enveloped his hands like blades. His left eye and the Saint's Right became twin Sharingan—both spinning.

The raptors' movements slowed in his vision.

He dodged effortlessly, hands glowing, the chakra scalpel forming with precision.

He thrust toward the nearest target.

But the dino twisted at the last instant—dodging the strike with uncanny reflexes.

Its visual acuity rivaled the Sharingan.

But then—a burst of invisible force twisted the dino's trajectory.

Suddenly, it was hurtling directly into Ishiki's waiting hand.

Shhk—

The scalpel pierced its skull.

Behind Ishiki, Weather Report manifested—the upper half emerging from air, surrounded by spiraling white clouds.
