Naruto - Minato Namikaze SI

Third Person POV

Konoha, Year 39.

Minato and Kushina were at Ichiraku Ramen, eating together that evening after arranging their small date following the meeting with the Hokage.

"It's good to see you both here. I'm surprised to see you in person, Minato. As for you, little Kushina, you're here every week...?" Teuchi said as he handed them their first bowls of ramen, a smile spreading across his face.

"Yeah..." Minato looked up, returning the smile. "It's been a while since I came to the village," he commented with a hint of nostalgia for this kind of food.

"It's good you're here and well. War is terrible sometimes, and so many people die... I see some of my regulars who never came back." The man murmured with a slightly sad tone.

Teuchi didn't seem to know about Minato's accomplishments in the village, as some people had suppressed any rumors, with two elders running the village who didn't appreciate Minato's rise in public power. Not that they could hide it when most of the ninjas finally returned from the war, but even so, there wasn't a strong rumor circulating at the moment. So, it was normal for Teuchi not to know about Minato's role in the war.

"Are you kidding? Minato was a war hero against Suna, Dattebane!!" Kushina exclaimed, lifting her chopsticks and pointing at Minato, while the man looked a bit surprised.

"Is that true?" Teuchi asked, surprised.

"Well... something like that," Minato replied with a small smile as the man asked a few more questions. They continued eating while Kushina kept ordering more and more dishes.

"This is really great!" she murmured, turning her gaze toward him. "I'd like to eat something prepared by you tomorrow, can you?!" She said while still eating her food, keeping her eyes on Minato like a puppy, begging for him to say yes.

"Alright... I can make something..." He replied calmly.

"Dattebane!!" She exploded, raising an arm with a sincere smile.

The night continued, and by 9 p.m., Minato ended up taking her for a walk around Konoha after saying goodbye to Teuchi.

They kept looking at shops here and there while she tried to act like a couple with him, holding his hand and buying a few things. They went to see the cherry blossom tree that had practically brought them together years ago.

"It's not spring yet... but it's always beautiful..." Kushina murmured, looking at the tree. She usually visited this place every spring... she had happy memories here.

"Yes, this place never changes." Minato commented with a calm tone.

"You know... we could go to another place we used to go... to the Hokages' heads... but I don't like those ninjas spying on us all the time... you know... I want some privacy between us." She murmured, and Minato nodded. They certainly wouldn't like the next thing Minato was about to do, but the Hokage would understand. He disappeared without warning, leaving the ambush ninjas startled as they searched for them.

They reappeared on the First Hokage's head, just like they used to years ago.

"This view is always beautiful... but I never came here after you left, so I'm happy we can see this place together." She commented with an excited smile, looking at Konoha glowing with lights that night.

"..." Minato said nothing as he gazed at his village with appreciation.

"Do you remember our promise?" Kushina asked.

"Of course, I told you I'd become Hokage, didn't I?" Minato replied.

"I know... and you're closer than ever... soon your head will be carved here, and I will be the Hokage's wife..." She murmured, blushing and looking at Minato.

"You will be." Minato responded in a calm tone as their faces drew closer, this time without resistance, kissing her with the village in the background.

The Senju clan grounds were silent when they arrived with another raijin after a while. "Duy and Guy's mother is living in the house next door... she's doing better, but Duy keeps training until he collapses... he came home passed out, trying to beat his rival and now for failing while I was kidnapped... Haha." She laughed at the last part, as if Guy could really help.

"I'm glad... I'll see them tomorrow. I also need to check on this Kakashi at his father's request," Minato said.

They walked to the door, while Minato sensed a few hidden ninjas sighing in relief that Kushina had returned.

"Wait, you're not staying here?" she exclaimed, stomping her foot the moment he said he was leaving.

"You'll be fine. You can call me with chakra through the seal if you need anything. Besides, there's plenty of security now watching over you," Minato said.

"..." Kushina didn't reply as she touched the raijin seal on her body, looking at Minato.

"..." Minato was left speechless by her.

"See, I need you," she said.

"..." Minato remained silent.

"..." Kushina stared at him intensely, willing him to stay until he finally dropped his shoulders, knowing how stubborn Kushina could be.

"You know I won't stay just because of that, right? You're safe now," he said at last.

"But it's different... I wanted you to be here," she said, a bit disappointed.

"Sorry, Kushina, but I have to go back to the apartment. It's been a while since I've been to my place since I left the village. So I want to check on it and sleep in my own bed... it's something I miss as well," Minato replied.

"Then I'll go with you!" she exclaimed.

"You can't, it's inappropriate..." Minato said.

"We're going to be married, aren't we? What's the problem with that?!" she exclaimed stubbornly.

"It's not that simple..." He sighed at her persistence.

She just crossed her arms, pouted, and sighed. "Fine, but I want you here with me tomorrow morning..." she murmured, clearly not wanting to part from him.

"Alright, I promise I'll sleep here tomorrow," Minato replied in the end.

Kushina nodded. "Good, fine. Tonight was great, thank you for everything, Minato." She gave a small smile at that moment, blushing as she got closer to him again, her eyes on him.

"Yeah," Minato said, watching her trying to kiss him once again, pouting as much as her lips could. Minato wanted to laugh at her expression, but just when she thought he was going to meet her with a kiss, her face was gently touched, and she felt a kiss on her forehead.

"What are you doing, Dattebane?!" she exclaimed, clearly frustrated while he found amusement in it.

"Goodbye, Kushina. Remember our commitment tomorrow morning..." he said, referring to their conversation at Ichiraku Ramen.

She didn't even have time to say anything else before Minato disappeared, leaving Kushina alone as she went back inside the main house, still stomping her feet and muttering Minato's name.

Minato returned to his apartment, finding it just as he had left it. There was no leftover food, and the place was quite organized. He checked a few things and felt satisfied with what he found, then went to bed.

The next day, Minato woke to the sound of his doorbell. Kushina was already at Minato's door early in the morning. He got up with a yawn as he looked at the door. She had arrived even earlier than they had agreed, but that was understandable.

Opening the door, still thinking he should have been the one meeting her, not her showing up at his apartment. "Come in..." He opened the door while she, dressed in a purple dress, held a tray that smelled of chocolate.

"Did you make a cake?" he asked.

"Yes..." She yawned again as she entered.

"Did you stay up all night making this?" He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her.

"Four hours of sleep... but yeah, I wanted to have this cake ready for when we go to the orphanage..." she said, placing the cake on the table. It was at least three hours before they were supposed to meet, and Minato didn't know what to think of her eagerness.

"Alright, we'll go earlier... I'll get ready." Minato said as he went to his wardrobe, grabbing some casual clothes to wear in the village and taking off his Jonin uniform, which he had even slept in.

"I miss this place... I remember how we used to come here after the academy with the girls," she commented, looking around the empty place.

"I'm fine, there's nothing better than your own bed..." Minato commented as he came out of the bathroom dressed in casual clothes, slipping on simple sandals while Kushina was picking up the cake again and they were about to leave.

Kushina waited for him to lock up the house as he pulled out the key, and they were about to head out when, suddenly, a sense of imminent danger hit Minato—something he hadn't even felt when facing the Semi-God Shinobi, the Tsuchikage, the Kazekage, or Shukaku... It was much worse than those monsters...

The door across from his apartment creaked open, and a single eye peered through the gap, staring directly at him. It was his neighbor, the old pervert.

"So, you're back... Fufufu." Minato heard her voice, and a chill ran down his spine.

"We need to get out of here... I need to move out as soon as possible..." Minato murmured, as Kushina looked at him, confused by his words.

"What did you say?" she asked, not having heard him clearly.

"It's nothing... let's just go!" Minato said with a tone of urgency as they continued walking through the village.

Children were starting to wake up around this time—it was 6:30 in the morning—while Gorete stepped outside to call them.

"Come on, kids! Breakfast is ready, and everyone's eating already, you're the last ones!" she called out to the children playing in the orphanage park.

"Madame Gorete!! I'm heading to the academy, I plan on getting there early today!" a child ran past her, startling her.

"Don't run like that!!" she scolded as the children rushed inside, with some heading off to the academy.

"These brats... I'm losing control of them, and I haven't been sleeping well these past months with insomnia and anxiety... Will I have to retire soon?" she muttered to herself, her eyes falling on two figures approaching at that moment.

"Hm?" She blinked, recognizing one, but the blonde beside them left her stunned, wondering for a moment if she was dreaming.

"Is that..." she murmured as the blonde smiled and raised a hand in greeting, while the child who had passed by greeted Kushina, recognizing her, but seemingly not knowing Minato as they disappeared into the streets of Konoha, heading to the academy.

"Minato?!" she exclaimed as she approached the gate.

"It's been a few years, Madame Gorete... I'm so happy to see you again," Minato said to the woman who had been the closest thing to a mother to him in this world.

"Minato!!!" She opened the gate and approached him, her eyes wide, still in disbelief as she touched his shoulder and moved in for a hug.

"It's so good to see you're alive!" she exclaimed, surprising him as she suddenly began to cry at his return.

"..." Minato was speechless, while Kushina stood beside them, still holding the cake in silence. It took Minato about five seconds to react as the older woman hugged him and cried, before he slowly raised his arm and returned the embrace.

"Thank goodness... I'm so happy... I lost eight children since this damn war started... I always wondered when a ninja from the village would show up with news of another child who graduated with you or in recent years, dying on the battlefield... I'm just so glad you're okay..." she cried as Minato accepted her motherly embrace.

"Yes... I'm back... mother," he said impulsively, his voice carrying a rare weight of emotion.
