Boom!

The thunderous roar, like a bolt of lightning from a clear sky, momentarily stilled the very air.

Violent, unrestrained lightning surged heavenward, causing the barrier overhead to visibly cave inward and shake violently.

The sheer scale of the display caused Danzo and the others, rapidly approaching from several kilometers away, to change their expressions drastically.

They were now within Konoha's barrier, trapped like fish in a net. Their only chance of escape hinged on capturing Uchiha Kai and using him as a bargaining chip.

"Danzo, what the hell happened?!" A's face darkened as he roared. The chakra fluctuation had been immense, the explosive power clearly felt even from several kilometers away. A wild, improbable thought formed in his mind.

Danzo's face was ashen. As one of Konoha's three advisors and the de facto leader of Root, he maintained a subtle connection to the main gate's seals. The connection had been severed, indicating only one possibility.

The main gate had been breached! Only then would the barrier frantically draw chakra from elsewhere to repair the breach, severing the connection in the process.

"Danzo, explain yourself!" Kurotsuchi's face was equally grim. Their unauthorized entry into Konoha was already a serious crime.

Failing to find Deidara, linked to the Third Raikage's disappearance, and potentially triggering another war would be disastrous.

"The barrier was breached!" Danzo, knowing he couldn't hide it any longer, admitted, his face a mask of grim resignation.

At his words, the hundreds of ninjas present paled.

"Danzo, you said we should slow down, let Uchiha Kai attack the gate first to weaken his chakra,"

A thundered. "Now he's escaped! What justification do we have for confronting Konoha?"

With that, A's body crackled with lightning as he entered Lightning Release Chakra Mode. Before everyone's eyes, he became a streak of lightning, pursuing Kai.

"Yo, check it, Danzo! Prepare for Kumogakure's wrath!" Killer Bee said, rapping as he sprinted after A, his speed only slightly less impressive.

"Danzo, you will be held accountable for this!" Kurotsuchi said, also pursuing.

The Kirigakure ninjas remained silent, their thoughts evident in their expressions. Their combined forces were the most formidable of the three villages.

Yet, before they could even act, internal conflict had resulted in the deaths of their leader and two of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen. This made Kirigakure look weak and pathetic.

"Heh, Danzo, you're in quite a predicament," Orochimaru chuckled smoothly.

Danzo glared coldly. "Orochimaru, don't forget we're in the same boat. Let's go check it out."

Hundreds of figures raced towards the gate. Upon reaching it, the sight of the gate broken in half, the slowly regenerating barrier, and the spiderweb cracks in the ground caused their faces to darken with fury.

"Damn it!" A roared, his body crackling with lightning as he charged towards the repairing barrier like a living thunderbolt.

Boom!

A thunderous explosion echoed, scattering lightning across the area. The barrier caved in further than before, but the rapidly converging chakra quickly neutralized the impact. The powerful recoil caused A's lightning chakra to dissipate, sending him flying back several meters.

"A, stop! This barrier was set by the Uzumaki clan. Excessive force will cause a complete rebound!"

A ghostly figure appeared before the gate, a Flying Thunder God kunai in hand.

"Minato Namikaze, Konoha's Yellow Flash!" A's face darkened. "Your Space-Time Ninjutsu is legendary.

Why did you only arrive now? Did you intentionally let Uchiha Kai escape, protecting this rogue ninja?"

The ninjas from the other villages nodded in agreement. Minato's speed was world-renowned; this looked suspiciously like intentional inaction.

"Heh, A, you overestimate Minato," Jiraiya said, appearing beside Minato. He'd been secretly relieved when he learned Kai had breached the gate.

The situation was dire: Danzo and Orochimaru's collusion had magnified Konoha's problems. The Uchiha's more aggressive faction was also restless.

A combined assault by the three villages would be devastating. Kai's defection was the final straw that could break Konoha's back.

"Jiraiya of the Sannin?" A's voice hardened. "You think two of you can stop us?"

"I can break this barrier alone."

Hell Stab Four-Finger Nukite!

A roared, his lightning chakra surging into his fingers. The resulting lightning spears radiated a terrifying aura, causing those nearby to tense.

"Bee, hold them off!" A yelled, charging again.

Minato tried to intervene, but Killer Bee and Jiraiya blocked him.

"Let him try again. Not everyone is Kai."

Before anyone could react, A, a force of nature, slammed into the gate. His Hell Stab, a torrent of lightning, struck the barrier.

Boom!

A deafening roar echoed as the barrier caved in even further than before. However, the rapidly converging chakra infused the barrier with incredible resilience.

Bang!

With a low rumble, the recoil slammed into A, sending him flying back.
