Chapter 160: MSOC: Chapter 160
"Hyūga elder, you think Kakashi's future achievements will surpass others? I heard something big happened at the Kannabi Bridge," the Nara clan elder continued, his voice laced with curiosity.
The Hyūga elder glared. "Nara, you big mouth! Haven't you heard of letting others finish speaking? You keep interrupting."
The Nara elder, unfazed by the Hyūga elder's displeasure, waved his hands dismissively. "Go on, go on."
"Hmph, with Kakashi's talent, he'll not only surpass his father, White Fang, but also become a legend in Konoha, far exceeding us old-timers," the Hyūga elder snorted, resuming his assessment. "As for Namikaze Minato, the prodigy, the Yellow Flash, a name that strikes fear into the hearts of enemies, his character, personality, and strength are top-notch. He has a 70% chance of becoming Hokage."
The elders nodded in agreement, acknowledging Minato's exceptional abilities.
The Hyūga elder, basking in their approval, smiled. "Don't forget the Sannin, Jiraiya and Tsunade. If they participated, even Minato would take a backseat."
"Jiraiya trained Minato, and Tsunade is the First Hokage's granddaughter. Their lineage is impressive."
The clan heads exchanged glances, acknowledging the significance of Jiraiya and Tsunade's presence. Since Orochimaru's defection, the Sannin had largely disappeared from Konoha. Their return, alongside Jiraiya's involvement in the Hokage election, underscored the gravity of the situation.
"Heh, Hyūga elder, you're still fond of pointing fingers. I haven't been out in a while, so I'd like to hear your assessment of our Uchiha—Shisui, and Kai," a gruff voice interrupted, a stark contrast to the previous discussion.
Three elders, leading a group of Uchiha clan members in Konoha's security force, strode into the room, with Fugaku and others surrounded by guards. Uchiha Ishi kept a watchful eye on Fugaku, wary of Kai's unpredictable nature.
They lacked confidence leaving Fugaku in the mansion and believed Kai would be more hesitant to act with the entire village watching.
"Oh, I forgot Itachi. He's only seven, but he graduated from the Ninja Academy," Uchiha Elder said, ruffling Itachi's hair. Itachi, though inwardly annoyed, endured it silently for his parents' safety, his dark eyes scanning the room, lighting up upon seeing Kai.
"Hmph, Uchiha Elder, I'm not interested in your clan. But mentioning those three shows how much you value them," the Hyūga elder snorted, clearly irritated by Uchiha Elder's boast.
Uchiha Elder, unfazed, chuckled. "Since you're not interested, pay attention. We Uchiha have three geniuses."
"Oh, and Mikoto's pregnant again. If she has another son with a third of Itachi's talent, he'll be a genius too."
With a smug grin and a yawn, Uchiha Elder added, "Don't mind me. I'm just straightforward."
"The Hokage is looking this way. Let's not waste time. As the election initiator, I'll rest. Continue your discussion."
With that blatant display of pride, Uchiha Hi led his clan members to their seats.
"Damn it! That old fool's gotten too cocky," the Inuzuka clan head grumbled, unable to contain his anger. The other clan heads echoed his sentiment.
"Alright, let's not get worked up. The Uchiha are indeed exceptional," the Hyūga elder said, his anger subsiding. His gaze swept over the Uchiha, finally settling on Kai, seated separately.
"Fugaku's always been enigmatic. To lead the clan for over twenty years, he must have some skill," the Hyūga elder continued. "And Shisui and Itachi are undeniable geniuses. Shisui is almost on par with Minato."
The elders fell silent, acknowledging the Uchiha's strength. Three geniuses—a remarkable achievement. Any village would be envious.
"Hyūga elder, you forgot to comment on Uchiha Kai," the Nara elder said, his tone serious, shifting the atmosphere. The recent events and the Uchiha's actions all stemmed from Kai. Yet, he'd been instrumental in ending the Third Shinobi World War and minimizing Konoha's losses. He was both righteous and wicked.
The Hyūga elder stared at Kai, shaking his head. "I can't see through him. He's the only one I can't fathom. A genius who lurked for over a decade, then emerged as an enigma. I can't assess him!"
Silence fell over the room. The Hyūga clan, the third largest after the Senju and Uchiha, was known for its strict discipline. No one dared to contradict the elder's assessment.
The jovial atmosphere had vanished. The mention of Uchiha Kai felt like a mountain pressing down on them.
