Chapter 77: Chapter 77: The Bewildered Uchiha
Uchiha Nobuto grew extremely anxious upon hearing that Chinya had left Uchiha Jin'ya behind but not him.
"Chinya!" Nobuto pleaded. "I just got too excited before and said something stupid! Give me another chance—I'll follow your orders this time, I swear!"
Chinya looked at Nobuto with mockery and smiled. "I've already given you more chances than I should have—again and again. Leaving these four here is already a rare act of mercy on my part.
But honestly, I'm a pretty petty person. I'm genuinely afraid of the Uchiha Clan's retaliation. So how could I possibly leave *you* here?
Somebody has to bear the consequences of this situation, and unfortunately… that unlucky guy is you."
When others heard Chinya claim he feared the Uchiha Clan, they all rolled their eyes in disbelief.
Had it not been for the five visibly beaten-up Uchiha ninja standing there, they might have actually believed him.
Nobuto kept desperately trying to explain himself, but Chinya had stopped listening long ago and simply turned around and walked away.
Uchiha Kyousuke, Uchiha Keiichi, and Uchiha Ryuuhei followed silently behind Chinya with lowered heads.
Even though Jin'ya had one broken leg and one broken arm, he struggled to limp along after Chinya as fast as he could, fearing Chinya might suddenly find an excuse to send them back to Konoha as well.
Seeing Chinya leave, Nobuto quickly turned to Orochimaru for help.
Orochimaru didn't even glance at him as he coldly said, "Pack up and prepare to return to Konoha," then walked off directly.
Desperate now, Nobuto begged Kazuo Uchiha for assistance.
Yet if Kazuo actually had any solution, he wouldn't have stood there silent earlier.
Finally sighing, Kazuo said to Nobuto, "Nobuto, heal your leg and return to Konoha first. Report everything that happened here to the clan head—you probably won't be punished too severely."
Nobuto stood completely stunned, no longer feeling the pain in his broken leg at all.
It wasn't punishment he feared—it was the way everyone would judge him afterward.
With a broken leg inflicted by Chinya and being driven back to Konoha like trash—he'd never live this down within the clan.
Still dazed and confused, Nobuto barely noticed how the medical ninja treated him in the end...
Meanwhile, Chinya led the four Uchiha into an isolated forest where nobody else was present.
After casting a cold glare at the four, Chinya spoke up. "You know I hate the Uchiha. Don't be stupid enough to think I'd hesitate to take you down.
But since you still have this opportunity now, take it—leave and go crawling back to Konoha. Then you won't have to follow my orders anymore. So what's your decision?"
None of the four Uchiha members moved, clearly indicating their willingness to stay and accept Chinya's command.
Chinya nodded. "Looks like you've made your choice. Then there's no turning back. Tell me your names."
The four stated their names one by one.
Chinya stood with a superior posture and said, "Good. You already know my name, so I won't waste time introducing myself again.
Let me warn you now—brace yourselves. From this point on, the missions I take will be extremely dangerous, with a high risk of death. But the rewards will be substantial as well—massive military merits await you. I hope none of you hold me back, and I won't withhold any merits that belong to you.
Now dismissed. Go heal your wounds or get some rest—I couldn't care less. Once there's a new mission, I'll notify you all. Dismissed."
As soon as he finished speaking, Chinya vanished from sight.
After Chinya left, Kyousuke Uchiha and the other three let out a heavy sigh together.
It was oppressive—and completely unreasonable.
At the first sign of conflict, he struck without hesitation—and with full force.
Even the youngest among them, Keiichi Uchiha, was already 19—yet Chinya, just a 13-year-old, overwhelmed him so badly that he couldn't even raise his gaze.
The war hadn't even begun yet, meaning they'd have to serve under Chinya for an indefinite period.
And Chinya had clearly stated his dislike for them—he would certainly make things difficult later.
Kyousuke Uchiha and the others exchanged glances, eyes filled with uncertainty about their future.
Back in Konoha, they were top dogs. How come here, on the battlefield, have they become low-ranking subordinates?
The four sighed together and supported Jin'ya Uchiha as they went in search of a medical ninja.
While seeking treatment, they ran into Nobuto Uchiha, who was also receiving medical care.
Nobuto sat staring blankly into space.
After calling his name several times, he finally came back to his senses.
A smile appeared on Nobuto's face—it looked more painful than tears. "I'm heading back to Konoha soon..."
Kyousuke and the others wanted to comfort Nobuto, but the words stuck in their throats.
If Nobuto hadn't threatened Chinya earlier, he could've stayed.
But this world has no such thing as "if only."
Looking at them, Nobuto said, "That Chinya will definitely give you trouble in the future. Are you really going to follow him obediently?"
Ryuuhei Uchiha replied helplessly, "What else can we do? You saw it yourself, Nobuto. That brat doesn't listen to reason at all—and even Orochimaru-sama is covering for him."
Nobuto's expression darkened with frustration. "Since this place treats us Uchiha poorly anyway, why don't we all leave together?"
Kyousuke and the others stared at Nobuto in shock.
Truthfully, Nobuto didn't want to return to Konoha alone. There's a huge difference between leaving alone and returning with four others. At least then they'd share the same fate, and he wouldn't feel quite so miserable.
But Kyousuke and the other four weren't fools either. They had already pledged to become Chinya's subordinates. If they chose to return to Konoha with Nobuto now, everything would change—they would become deserters.
If that were the case, they wouldn't be facing punishment under the clan's laws, but rather a formal sentence from Konoha.
So the four of them pretended not to get it and quickly came up with an excuse to slip away.
Is Nobuto Uchiha really trying to throw them all into the fire with this idea?
Seeing that even his own clansmen refused to back him, Nobuto Uchiha flew into a rage. Without realizing it, he activated his Dual Single-Tomoe Sharingan — the single tomoe within each pupil spinning rapidly before slowly evolving into twin tomoe.
Driven by intense emotional turmoil, Nobuto Uchiha's Sharingan unexpectedly advanced into the Double Tomoe Sharingan.
