Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Sakumo Hatake! You Actually Ambushed a Junior Like Me!!!
After leaving the Hyūga Clan Grounds, Kazuyama walked toward the Uchiha Clan Grounds with Pakura, who remained silent the entire way.
Pakura, herself a Kekkei Genkai user, was well aware of the power of those eyes. Suddenly, she remembered that Kazuyama also possessed a Kekkei Genkai, though she still had no idea what it was.
"Kazuyama, what about you? What is your Kekkei Genkai?"
Kazuyama stopped at her words, turning to her with a teasing smile.
"My Kekkei Genkai? Guess."
"I'm not going to guess. Just tell me," Pakura replied impatiently.
The next second, her eyes widened as Kazuyama vanished before her eyes—without leaving so much as a trace.
"Kazuyama! Where did you go?"
"Me? I'm right next to you," his voice came from beside her ear.
Startled, Pakura ducked to the side.
"Hahaha, was that a surprise?"
Kazuyama reappeared in front of her as he lifted the Transparent Escape Technique.
"This is my Kekkei Genkai," he said, smiling. "It's how I abducted you from Sunagakure."
Pakura stared at him, dumbfounded, her thoughts swirling.
A concealment Kekkei Genkai… It hides not only his figure but even his presence. No wonder he could touch me without being noticed.
"Transparent Escape," Kazuyama continued. "My Kekkei Genkai can perfectly hide me from anyone. Even the Dōjutsu of the Hyūga and Uchiha can't see through it."
He raised his head confidently, his posture oozing pride.
But just as he began to bask in his own arrogance, an unwelcome voice interrupted him.
"Oh? Who's so full of himself?"
The harsh voice carried a sharp edge. "My Uchiha's Sharingan can see through any technique. Who do you think you are?"
Kazuyama and Pakura turned to see two Uchiha clan members, their clan's fan emblem displayed prominently on their clothing, glaring at them with resentment.
"Well, this is bad..." Kazuyama muttered under his breath.
If asked who was the most difficult person to deal with in all of Konoha, Kazuyama would say Danzō without hesitation. But if asked who the most unreasonable people were, the answer would undoubtedly be the Uchiha.
After all, in their eyes, the heavens were number one, they were number two, and everyone else was insignificant.
"Well, look who it is—if it isn't Kazuyama."
"How dare the son of a fallen clan challenge the authority of the Uchiha!"
At this time, the Third Shinobi World War had not yet begun, and the Uchiha's status in Konoha was still secure. They were the number one clan—arrogant and proud.
The newcomer radiated an air of arrogance, clearly ready to look down on everyone around him. He was part of the younger generation of the Uchiha, around the same age as Kazuyama.
"Ao Uchiha and Muren Uchiha, your hearing is impressive," Kazuyama said with a smirk. "To catch all that from this distance? Makes me wonder if you've awakened your Sharingan or something else entirely."
Kazuyama wasn't the type to just let things slide. He treated people how they treated him—respectful if they were polite, but ruthless if they tried to mess with him.
"Asshole! Do you want to spar?" Ao snapped. "I'll show you that the authority of the Uchiha can't be challenged by a third-rate ninja like you!"
It had to be said—Ao's words were sharp enough to make Kazuyama's brain overheat for a moment.
Nearby, Pakura couldn't help but burst into laughter. To call Kazuyama, a Jōnin personally promoted by the Hokage, a third-rate ninja was absurd—even for the Uchiha.
"Fine," Kazuyama said, a teasing grin spreading across his face. "I'm a third-rate ninja, right? Come on, I'll make you call me father."
Kazuyama knew reasoning with the Uchiha was a waste of time. Fists would get the message across much faster.
"Hmph! Don't say we're bullying you. I can handle you alone!" Ao declared confidently.
"You? Forget it," Kazuyama sneered, his tone dripping with mockery.
In an instant, he activated the Transparent Escape Technique and disappeared from sight.
"Hmph, such a petty trick. Sharingan!" Ao barked, immediately activating his three-tomoe Sharingan to locate Kazuyama. At 17 years old, Ao was undoubtedly talented, already wielding the fully matured Sharingan.
But his opponent was someone who had mastered the art of concealment and security.
With his Transparent Escape Technique active, Kazuyama began to move toward Ao, step by step. He wasn't worried in the slightest about Ao's Sharingan.
On the other hand, Ao was quickly becoming flustered. Though his Sharingan was active, he couldn't see Kazuyama at all.
Where is he? Why can't I see him? Ao's thoughts spiraled in frustration. This shouldn't be possible! Even if I can't see him physically, I should still see his chakra!
"Hmph, you dare provoke me like this? Even if Fugaku came, I wouldn't be afraid," Kazuyama sneered. "Let alone his little lackeys."
To him, the younger generation of the Uchiha revolved around Fugaku. The rest didn't even register on his radar.
Kazuyama's voice echoed around them, but neither Ao nor Muren could see him. Even Muren, who had activated his Sharingan, was stunned—he couldn't find any trace of Kazuyama.
"Now, call me father, and I'll spare you both. Otherwise... hehehe..." Kazuyama's threatening voice whispered close to their ears.
"Don't even think about it!" Ao snapped.
"Muren! One on each side—guard against him!"
The two Uchihas quickly moved back-to-back, trying to defend against the unseen threat.
"Fine, you asked for it."
Kazuyama, having activated the Transparent Escape Technique, slowly approached. Just as the two were about to react…
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
In an instant, both Ao and Muren vanished. Kazuyama had used the Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport them elsewhere.
As for where they'd gone... he chuckled darkly to himself.
"Kazuyama, where did you send them?" Pakura asked, still shocked by the sudden disappearance. "Why are they gone?"
"They? Oh, I sent them somewhere more fitting for their personalities," Kazuyama said with a grin.
Then, with a dramatic shrug, he added, "Let's go. The Uchiha aren't worth the trouble. If we stick around, we might end up trapped in their nonsense."
He turned toward Pakura, his tone lighthearted. "I'll take you to Konoha's best ramen! Guaranteed to be the most delicious thing you've ever had."
Pakura, already getting a clearer sense of what kind of people the Uchiha were, didn't argue and followed him to Ramen Ichiraku.
Moments later, Kazuyama received a pair of notifications:
[Ding! Host detected sending Ao Uchiha and Muren Uchiha into the women's bathhouse, causing female villagers to become enraged. Special reward: +1 Strength.]
[Ding! Ao Uchiha and Muren Uchiha were discovered by passers-by while escaping, instantly becoming famous. Special reward: +1 Strength.]
Kazuyama smirked to himself. Hmph, brats, trying to fight me! If you two aren't famous in the village after this, I'm not Kazuyama!
He sighed regretfully. It's just a shame I couldn't see it myself. I haven't gathered "material" in a while. I should collect some soon.
Kazuyama tightened his fists, feeling his body grow stronger with the new rewards. He couldn't help but feel satisfied.
A few days later, Kazuyama was invited to visit the Hatake Clan.
When he entered their home, he noticed that despite Sakumo Hatake's reputation for intelligence, his family was not particularly wealthy. The modesty of the Hatake residence reminded him of his own home in the Gekkō Clan. Both clans were impoverished, with only a few members remaining, so there was little sense in maintaining a large estate.
Of course, now Pakura was living with him as well.
"Is this the home of the Konoha White Fang? It looks so... ordinary," she commented.
"Pish, what do you know? The truly strong don't care about material wealth!" he shot back without hesitation.
Pakura immediately fell silent. Over the past few days, she'd come to realize there was no winning against Kazuyama's sharp wit. No matter what she said, he always had a clever retort ready.
At that moment, Kakashi appeared to greet them.
"Kazuyama-sensei, you're here," he said, his tone polite. Then his gaze shifted. "This must be Pakura-sensei. Obito and Guy have mentioned you. Blazing Fire Technique, huh? That's an impressive Fire Release ninjutsu. If I get the chance, I'd like to spar with you."
Kazuyama chuckled, taking in Kakashi's taller frame.
"Yo, Kakashi. Long time no see. How's it going? Still not a Chūnin yet?"
Kakashi, sensing the casual teasing, smirked back. But before he could respond, Kazuyama clasped his hands together in prayer, forming a Tiger Seal in an instant. The mood shifted.
Kakashi's instincts kicked in, and he quickly retreated—but it wasn't enough. In a flash, Kazuyama used the Body Flicker Technique to appear right behind him.
"Take this, Kakashi!"
"Konoha Style! Taijutsu Secret Technique! One Thousand Years of Death!"
Kakashi froze, his wide-eyed disbelief quickly turning into pain.
"Oww!!!"
With a perfectly executed thrust, Kakashi went flying butt-first into the air.
"Hahaha! Kakashi, you're still too young!" Kazuyama said with a triumphant grin. "Even your dad couldn't react when I hit him with this technique. You've got a long way to go!"
Pakura stood there, utterly stunned. What was even happening right now?
Suddenly, a system notification rang in Kazuyama's mind:
[Ding! Detected that the host used the One Thousand Years of Death on Kakashi Hatake, increasing his obsession with the technique. Special reward: +3 hand seals.]
Kazuyama grinned. I've won! As expected, bullying someone famous comes with great rewards!
But his smug satisfaction didn't last. A sudden chill ran down his spine. Before he could react, a voice called out behind him.
"Konoha Style! Taijutsu Secret Technique! One Thousand Years of Death!"
It was the same chant, the same movements—only this time, the attacker was Sakumo, and the target was Kazuyama.
Sakumo's speed was terrifying. Kazuyama barely had time to register what was happening before—
"Oww!!"
"Sakumo Hatake, you actually attacked a junior from behind!"
"Ouch!"
