Naruto: I'm Really Not an Evil Uchiha!

Chapter 74: The Emergence of Moryo

The Daimyo's body was what Moryo coveted most. Once it could possess the Daimyo's flesh, it would freely wield its power to a far greater extent, preventing any ninja from stopping it.

At that point, it could retrieve its true body, sealed away in the Land of Swamps.

Crash!

A jet of water suddenly pierced through the wall like a high-pressure stream, shooting straight through the Daimyo's heart.

The smile on the Daimyo's face froze. His expression turned blank as he looked toward the source of the water.

Through the opening, the faint outline of the figure who had cast the jutsu was visible—it was none other than Hozuki Juzo, who had left the hall just minutes ago.

"Daimyo of the Land of Demons, I thought about it, and it's better to kill you," the shadow clone transformed into Hozuki Juzo said, speaking in his tone and mannerisms.

He had been lying in wait here for a long time. Once the real Juzo had traveled far enough, the clone took action to frame him.

"If I kill you, everything in the Land of Demons will be mine!"

The shadow clone laughed loudly before dispersing into a cloud of smoke.

"Hozuki Juzo!"

The Daimyo let out a furious, hate-filled roar.

The next moment, blood gushed from the wound in his heart, and he collapsed to the ground with a thud.

A thick black mist erupted from the bell on his body. Moryo was shaken to its core.

Everything had happened too suddenly, too illogically.

What madness had possessed the people of Kirigakure?

Why had they suddenly turned around and killed the Daimyo of the Land of Demons?

As Moryo realized that its years of planning were about to go to waste, a massive black mist surged into the Daimyo's corpse.

Moryo's sharp, piercing shriek echoed through the hall:

"Kirigakure ninja, none of you are leaving here alive!"

Boom!

The dense black mist engulfed the hall instantly, and countless purple-black tentacles emerged from it. They twisted and coiled, vaguely forming the shape of a dragon, with blood-red eyes glowing ominously.

As Moryo's power grew more intense, the palace trembled violently, shaking the surrounding buildings.

"A… a monster!"

The guards stared in shock at the apocalyptic scene, their eyes wide with terror.

"Gods, is this divine punishment?"

"It's that Kirigakure ninja! He came from the Daimyo's quarters, and then this monster appeared. The Daimyo is missing—he must've been eaten by the creature!"

Crash!

Moryo's frenzied tentacles lashed out, smashing the palace into rubble.

Many guards who hadn't escaped in time were crushed by the falling debris.

Faced with an invincible monster, most of the guards fled in terror, abandoning their weapons in a desperate bid to survive.

"Quick, summon the priestess!"

The more rational guards ran toward the shrine where the priestess resided.

--

About a kilometer away, the Kirigakure ninja, still negotiating supplies with local officials, noticed the commotion and saw Moryo's rampage in the distance.

"What is that monster?"

Terumi Mei, seeing Moryo for the first time, could feel its overwhelming chakra even from afar. It was suffocating.

"Moryo," Hozuki Juzo said grimly.

Moryo should have been sealed at the altar in the Land of Demons. How was it now in the capital?

"This has nothing to do with us. Let's leave," Juzo decided without hesitation. The fate of the Land of Demons had no bearing on him, especially since there was still the priestess to deal with Moryo.

"Yes, Juzo-sama," Mei and the other Kirigakure ninja replied, bowing their heads.

"Ninja-sama, please save our nation!"

The official managing supplies grabbed Juzo's arm in desperation. If the Kirigakure ninja left, what chance did he have of survival? The shrine was several kilometers away, and he wasn't confident he could make it there.

Juzo kicked the official aside, hefted his executioner's blade, and prepared to leave.

"Juzo-sama," Mei suddenly spoke up.

Juzo turned to look at her, confused. Could she really want to stay behind and save these people?

"That monster… it seems to be heading toward us."

Juzo instinctively turned around. Sure enough, Moryo's purple-black mist had risen into the sky, and its crimson eyes seemed locked onto their location. The massive creature dragged its body forward with terrifying speed.

"Moryo is likely heading in this direction because the priestess's shrine is nearby. Let's just keep moving," Juzo said.

"Won't this monster cause major trouble?" Mei asked.

"Even if it does, it's not our problem. If Moryo is truly so powerful, the Five Great Nations will unite to deal with it."

Juzo motioned to his team, signaling them to retreat immediately. Their mission was to secure resources, not to fight Moryo.

The legend of the priestess and Moryo had always been part of the Land of Demons' history. The stories spoke of a ghost army wreaking havoc in the past, but Juzo thought they were likely exaggerated.

At most, Moryo was on par with a tailed beast. If necessary, it could still be sealed, though the cost might be high. That was why the task had always been left to the priestess.

Moryo's chakra was immense, but Juzo also sensed a strong chakra signature from the priestess.

"Let her handle it," Juzo muttered, leading his team away without looking back.

He had never faced Moryo in battle and had no intention of gambling with his life. He had too many ambitions left unfulfilled to take such risks now.

--

Rumble!

Moryo's massive body crushed everything in its path as it advanced rapidly, leveling buildings and heading straight for the Kirigakure team.

From a distant vantage point, Namikaze Minato and his team also saw Moryo.

"So that's Moryo?" Minato's face was grim.

The creature's chakra felt deeply unsettling—dark, cold, and oppressive.

"Minato-sensei, is that black monster chasing the Kirigakure ninja?" Kakashi asked, pointing in a direction.

"No, Moryo's target is likely the shrine behind them," Minato replied.

The ongoing conflict between the priestesses and Moryo had forged an unbreakable enmity. Now that Moryo had broken free, its first priority was undoubtedly to seek revenge.

"Shimizu, Kakashi, you're with me. We'll assist in stopping Moryo. Its chakra fluctuations have spread far and wide; the priestess is likely aware of its escape and preparing to reseal it."

"Understood."

Shimizu and Kakashi nodded.

"Rin, you focus on evacuating civilians, maintaining order, and providing emergency treatment to the injured," Minato ordered.

The team quickly sprang into action.

--

At the shrine, Miroku struggled to calm her racing thoughts. The Uchiha were a powerful clan, intolerant of anyone tarnishing their reputation.

If what Shimizu said was a lie, the Uchiha would never forgive him.

But his words were too astonishing. If Moryo was truly hiding within the Daimyo's body, then had the Daimyo himself been the one to break the seal?

"I…"

Miroku pressed her lips together, unsure of what to say.

Suddenly, a loud crash erupted outside, followed by a surge of cold, dark chakra.

This chakra… Her mother had once described it.

It was… Moryo!
