Naruto: I Can Upgrade My Techniques Infinitely

Chapter 123: Yes, the Village Has Decided to Help Promote You

Nara Kazuki quickly understood what Kakashi had meant the day before.

"This secrecy policy of ours—kinda terrible, huh?" he muttered the next morning, unable to hold back.

The name "Enma" had spread like wildfire across the village. In what felt like no time at all, the moniker had echoed through every corner of Konoha.

"That's just how it is. You'll get used to it," Kakashi said with complete calm. "Even if you didn't say anything, the village would've helped spread it for you. It's a kind of strength propaganda, after all."

After just a few missions with Byakko, Kakashi had already been dubbed the "Copy Ninja." He hadn't complained either. In fact, compared to that title, "Enma" sounded much cooler—intimidating, even.

Kazuki rubbed his temples. He hadn't expected it to go like this at all. But thinking it through, every famous shinobi had a title.

Like Shisui of the Body Flicker, the White Fang of Konoha, the Yellow Flash, and Kakashi the Copy Ninja… All more recognizable than their real names, especially outside the village.

Say "Orochimaru" and some might not know. Say "the Sannin," and even genin from other countries would nod in recognition.

"Fine… Enma it is." Kazuki sighed and gave in. At least Enma Form had proven itself during testing and was now officially part of his permanent arsenal.

The boost it gave to Fire Release was huge. And once the enhanced state was triggered, Kazuki even noticed some degree of elementalization—his body partially transforming. His proficiency with Lightning Release had also subtly increased, probably due to how the technique had evolved from his Great Thunder Fireball Jutsu.

"You know," Kakashi said, glancing sideways at him, "if I hadn't confirmed the source of this intel, I'd have thought you made up this whole 'Enma' name yourself."

Kazuki snorted. "Wanna see it in action?"

He was in the mood to spar. And with Enma Form active, he could go all out against Kakashi without having to hold back. Kakashi was strong—he'd make a great test subject.

Kakashi nodded immediately. He'd been curious about the technique ever since he'd heard it was being called a Kekkei Genkai.

But when they arrived at the training grounds, they weren't alone.

Minato Namikaze, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and Nara Shikaku—Kazuki's ever-dedicated clan head—were already waiting.

"We're just here to observe," Minato said with a smile. "To see the full extent of this technique."

Kazuki didn't mind. He knew they wouldn't be able to replicate it anyway—not even Kakashi. The technique used the exact same hand seals as the Great Fireball Technique, after all.

As Kazuki formed the seals, those present all furrowed their brows slightly. They could tell—these were the standard signs for Great Fireball. But before Kakashi could even comment, the sky cracked open. A bolt of lightning struck Kazuki dead center, and from the burst of white light, a blazing figure emerged.

"Watch yourself, Kakashi!" Kazuki growled. His voice was raspy and low. Though his body wasn't injured by the flames, the pain was still very real, a constant searing agony that chewed at his nerves.

In the next moment, a barrage of fireballs engulfed the training ground.

Hiruzen's pipe dangled forgotten at the corner of his mouth. For all his years and all the jutsu he'd seen, this one was unique. A true original.

Even Minato's eyes widened slightly. "No wonder they call him Enma…"

Shikaku stood in silence. Then made a mental note to raise Kazuki's development priority. From a shinobi whose future once seemed average at best, Kazuki had suddenly exploded in power.

"…He's been fighting for a while now and hasn't even hit the enhanced state yet," Kazuki mused, casually blocking an attack from behind as he tracked Kakashi's flickering form. "So it really was the number of enemies last time."

Previously, he'd entered the enhanced Enma Form almost immediately. But this time, it was taking longer. He guessed it required greater external pressure—more enemies, higher stakes.

Good to know for large-scale battles. But for now, he'd just have to push himself harder.

At least he didn't have to rely on shadow clones as a fallback. He could fight freely. The only nuisance was keeping an eye out for Kakashi's genjutsu—his Sharingan illusions had gotten better lately.

Though still nowhere near Uchiha Itachi's level, they were a definite annoyance.

After several more exchanges, Kazuki finally felt the telltale burn in his chest—the sting and heat of transition.

"Watch it!" he shouted.

His body surged upward, taller, broader, wrapped in roiling flame. Kakashi's eyes widened. Even Hiruzen didn't notice his pipe slipping from his lips.

And then Kazuki lifted a Great Fireball.

Yes—lifted. Like a building.

The sheer size was absurd. Enhanced by Enma Form, his Great Fireball was nearly the size of a house.

"That's a Great Fireball?" Kakashi nearly dropped his jaw.

"Taste my Big Damn Fireball no Jutsu!" Kazuki shouted, and hurled it down.

Later, with the help of Minato and Hiruzen, they managed to suppress the resulting forest fire—narrowly avoiding the kind of disaster that gets you thrown in prison.

"…What the hell is this jutsu?" Kakashi finally broke down. He'd used Chidori earlier to stab through Kazuki's knee—but there was no blood. No flesh. Nothing. Kazuki looked completely unharmed.

"I've recently come to terms with it," Kazuki said, face serious. "Turns out, I really do have a Kekkei Genkai."

Honestly, he had no better explanation. Easier to just blame it on a mysterious bloodline limit.

Kakashi rolled his eyes but didn't press the issue. Deep down, he was just glad.

Kazuki was more than ready to be promoted to jōnin.
