Naruto : I Aspire To Become Hokage Man

The scene shifts back to the battlefield of Sasuke and Itachi half a day ago.

Naruto stood in silence, staring at Sasuke and Itachi collapsed in front of him.

He couldn't understand this so-called "noble" ideology of killing for the sake of peace.

From Naruto's perspective, it was pure idiocy. Killing the ones who love you and the ones you love, just to satisfy unrelated people?

To Naruto, that was stupidity on another level. A man should protect those who love him and the people he loves! First comes the home, then the village. If the home is destroyed, what meaning does the village even have?

Naruto shook his head and sealed Itachi's eyes into a scroll.

He was about to carry Sasuke back to Konoha—

Suddenly, a wooden spike shot toward Naruto!

Boom—! His body turned into a log.

The real Naruto stepped out from behind a tree and stared coldly at the masked man. "Yo~ Our Madara came to dance again?"

"You!" Obito growled, then smirked. "Didn't expect you here. I suppose you don't know yet... Konoha might already be nothing more than rubble."

Naruto's eyes sharpened. "What did you say?"

"Huh? No one told you? Pain invaded Konoha today, looking for you..."

Boom!! Naruto's killing intent exploded like Conqueror's Haki, forcing even the rainclouds formed from Sasuke and Itachi's battle to scatter.

Obito swallowed nervously. "What... what terrifying pressure!"

Swish! A long sword formed from the purple ribcage of Susanoo suddenly thrust toward Obito.

"What?! So fast!" Obito activated Kamui, barely phasing out of the way.

He stared at Naruto in disbelief. "Sharingan!? Who the hell are you?!"

Susanoo fully formed around Naruto, complete with wings, lifting him into the air.

"If anything happened to Konoha... I'll make your life worse than death," Naruto said coldly.

Obito was about to respond when Naruto spat out, "Uchiha Obito."

"Impossible!" Obito staggered back. "How do you know who I am?!"

Naruto didn't answer. He turned and flew toward Konoha at full speed, not even glancing back at Sasuke.

"Damn it! We have to catch up!!" Obito hissed.

Konoha Village.

Shikaku Nara and Yamato stood before the ruined village.

"It's up to you to rebuild Konoha," Shikaku said, patting Yamato on the shoulder.

"Yes, sir!" Yamato replied, nodding. Then he turned. "Doctor?"

An ANBU landed behind Shikaku.

"What is it?" Shikaku asked.

"Urgent meeting request. Lord Shikaku, as Jōnin Commander, please proceed to the Daimyo Hall immediately."

"So, it's time," Shikaku muttered and nodded. "Understood."

The ANBU vanished.

Daimyo Hall.

The daimyō sat lazily fanning himself despite the cold.

Below him, Mitokado Homura rambled, "In dealing with the Akatsuki, we and the allied nations must continue to cooperate in the future..."

The daimyō's advisor, pushing up his glasses, interjected, "Given the destruction of the village, the Land of Fire must support Konoha's reconstruction. First, we need a budget..."

"More important than that!" Danzo snapped, removing his glasses. "Something else must be done first."

Danzo looked up, his voice heavy.

"We must choose a new Hokage."

Shikaku frowned. "Is that really necessary right now?"

"Didn't Tsunade do fine?" the daimyō asked casually.

"Lord Daimyō," Utatane Koharu interrupted quickly, "Tsunade failed. Konoha was nearly wiped out under her watch. She no longer holds the people's trust."

"Indeed," Homura added. "In times like this, the village needs a strong deterrent. A new Hokage must take command."

"Hmm... I thought it might be Jiraiya's turn. I liked him, but he seems MIA. Do you have recommendations?"

Danzo stepped forward. "In that case, I—"

"I nominate Hatake Kakashi," Shikaku cut in.

Danzo narrowed his eyes at Shikaku.

"Oh~ The son of the White Fang," the daimyō mused. "Quite renowned. Who was his teacher again?"

"He was the Fourth Hokage's student," Shikaku answered.

"So Kakashi was Minato's student... Minato was Jiraiya's student... Jiraiya was Hiruzen's student... A clean lineage. Works for me! Kakashi then—"

"Which means it's the teachings of the Third Hokage that nearly destroyed the village!"

Danzo interrupted with a shout. "The Akatsuki's leader, Pain, was Jiraiya's disciple! This is the price of spreading ninjutsu to other nations! It's naive idealism! That same naivety allowed the Sand to betray us! It permitted Orochimaru's attack! Sasuke's defection! All the Third Hokage's fault! Only one man can fix this! Someone who will enforce absolute law and transform the world—"

Danzo spread his arms.

"The one true Hokage is me!"

The daimyō tapped his fan thoughtfully.

"My lord! This—" Shikaku began.

"Very well," the daimyō said. "Danzo, you shall be the Sixth Hokage."

Danzo grinned in triumph.

"I object," a lazy voice drawled from outside the doors.

"You little...!" Danzo barked. "Guards!"

Boom! The doors burst open. Naruto walked in, carrying Izumi Uchiha in his arms.

"I said, I object," Naruto repeated, staring down Danzo. "Are you deaf?"

"You bastard! What gives you the right?! You're just a Genin! A weapon! The Nine-Tails Jinchūriki!"

Naruto smirked. "Because I'm the son of the Fourth Hokage. Because I'm the Yellow Fang of Konoha. And because of the Sharingan and the First Hokage's cells on your shoulder!"

"What?!" Gasps erupted across the hall as all eyes turned to Danzo's bandaged body.

Even the daimyō took a step back.

"Nonsense! Lies! That arm is the result of injuries earned protecting Konoha! What proof do you have?!"

The crowd fell into uneasy silence.

"We believe in Danzo!" Koharu and Homura snapped. "He was the Second Hokage's personal guard! He always thinks of Konoha first!"

Naruto ignored them and raised his hand.

"It doesn't matter if you believe it. As long as they do."

The doors opened again. Patriarchs of every prominent Konoha clan walked in, led by Uchiha Fugaku.

"You!" Danzo shouted. "You're supposed to be dead!"

Fugaku gave him a cold stare. "Surprised to see me? You should have expected this the moment you picked through the corpses of the Uchiha clan."

Danzo looked around, mind unraveling.

"Daimyō! I was appointed Hokage! I command you to remove them!"

Naruto looked down at the frantic Danzo. Shisui stepped out from behind him.

"I think protecting the Twelve Guardian Ninja was the right choice," Naruto said slowly. "The Land of Fire only needs one Will of Fire."

Danzo turned, trembling. "You... you didn't die either?"

"But I don't think that will should belong to someone like you," Naruto said, turning his back.

Shisui's eyes changed, the Mangekyō spinning.

"Kotoamatsukami!"
