Naruto: I am Uchiha Seiryu

Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Kakashi Turns Completely Dark

"Inaho, what about the other cave?" Kakashi changed the topic. Another cave nearby held the officials' families.

"Take good care of them; we're not demons," Kakashi said coldly, looking at the terrified nobles. "They're our future partners."

"Yes!" Inaho nodded and left, while Kakashi sat and waited for the nobles to recover from their genjutsu.

Inaho, a young elite of the Uchiha clan, was a master of genjutsu. He tailored each illusion to the victim's limits—enough to terrify, but not to break them.

Kakashi waited, listening to the screams, his face expressionless.

Ever since confirming that the masked man was his old friend Uchiha Obito, Kakashi had spent a sleepless night staring at the test tube containing Obito's Mangekyo Sharingan.

Why had that once cheerful, hot-blooded idiot become like this?

But remembering something Seiryu once said, Kakashi came to a conclusion: This shinobi world is truly sick.

Kakashi took out the test tube, watching the Mangekyo in its nutrient fluid, his expression unmoved, only firelight flickering on his face.

So that no one else will repeat our tragedy, let our generation bear all the sins of this world.

As the first victim's genjutsu ended, Kakashi put away the tube and approached Kikuchi Tomoyuki.

Kakashi squatted and gently wiped the cold sweat from Kikuchi's face with his kunai.

The sharp, cold steel brushing his face made Kikuchi tremble in terror.

"Do you understand your situation now?" Kakashi asked gently.

"Yes, yes," Kikuchi stammered.

The others soon awoke from genjutsu, gasping for breath, looking as if they had survived a disaster.

Kakashi sat back by the fire, looking down on these once lofty officials.

"Tell me, why did you petition to interfere with the Daimyo's appointment of the Fifth Hokage?" Kakashi said coldly.

The officials looked at each other, none daring to answer.

"Did you think, after taking money from those traitorous ninja clans, you could do whatever you wanted?" Kakashi toyed with his kunai. "If the Daimyo learns of your secret dealings with ninja, what do you think will happen?"

The nobles' faces turned pale with fear.

They knew that, while the ninja probably wouldn't dare kill them due to their status, if the Daimyo found out about their connections with Konoha, their entire families would be doomed.

"Please, my lord, it's a misunderstanding," a minor noble begged, knocking his head against the ground, "Those ninja forced the money on me, I never spent a dime!"

"We have nothing to do with them, they forced the money on us," others chimed in.

"Is that so? What about the Hokage appointment?" Kakashi sneered.

"It's all a misunderstanding," Kikuchi Tomoyuki said quickly. "We'll write a new petition supporting the Uchiha clan leader for Hokage."

"Is that so?" Kakashi smiled. "Then, shouldn't you show your apology? After all, we came a long way from Konoha."

He tossed a stack of papers in the air, then flung a handful of kunai, each one pinning a sheet to the ground in front of each person.

Kikuchi looked down and saw a list of all his assets—seventy percent of his wealth.

"This..." Kikuchi looked up at Kakashi.

"I'll have people escort you home. You have one night to gather what's on the list. If I don't see it by morning, evidence of your dealings with ninja—and your family's heads—will be on the Daimyo's desk."

The officials looked at each other, hesitating.

Kakashi smiled at the fire. "Oh, the fire's getting low. I wouldn't want you esteemed gentlemen to catch a chill."

He pulled out a series of personal trinkets—charms and keepsakes—from a sealing scroll, tossing them into the flames.

"What is that?" Kikuchi recognized a charm meant for his son, now in Kakashi's hands. The implication was clear.

Others saw their own family's belongings in the pile and panicked.

"What have you done to my Taro?" a noble demanded.

"Don't worry, your families are resting well," Kakashi said. "But if you don't finish your task by morning, I can't guarantee what will happen."

"Escort the gentlemen home," Kakashi ordered. Uchiha Inaho and Genma Shiranui entered with police elites, dragging the officials and nobles away.

...

By morning, Kakashi was satisfied as he counted the brimming scrolls of money.

"Bring the families over," he ordered, then faced the officials again.

"You're all quite wealthy," Kakashi said. "With such assets, you need strong ninja protection. From now on, your safety will be entrusted to the Uchiha—something even the Daimyo doesn't have."

"Yes..." Kikuchi and the others nodded hurriedly.

"The Uchiha are the strongest clan. Naturally, their services are costly," Kakashi smiled. "We'll take seventy percent of your income as insurance for your lives. That's fair, right?"

The officials wanted to object, but one look at the kunai at their throats, and they nodded quickly. "Fair, fair."

"And the Hokage appointment?" Kakashi raised an eyebrow.

"We'll petition today to support the Uchiha clan leader for Hokage," Kikuchi said quickly.

...

Leaving most of his team in the capital as bodyguards, Kakashi, Genma, and another returned instantly via Flying Thunder Formation Technique to Seiryu's office.

"You're back," Seiryu smiled.

"Yes, it's done." Kakashi placed the scrolls of money on Seiryu's desk and sat. "It's all here, forty billion in total."

Seiryu casually picked one scroll and tossed it to Genma. "You three worked hard. Spend it as you like."

"That's a lot," Genma and the others were stunned. Kakashi's generosity was familiar, but this was unprecedented.

"If the Hokage gives it, just take it," Kakashi smiled.

"Yes!" The three saluted.

"Alright, get back to work. I'll handle the rest," Kakashi said.

The three left the office, grinning.

Seiryu brewed tea and handed a cup to Kakashi.

After drinking, Kakashi explained his operations to Seiryu.

Seiryu nodded, then commented, "Not bad, but a bit rough in some areas."

"Rough?" Kakashi was puzzled; he had copied Seiryu's methods.

"Yes, the money-making was fine, but you shouldn't have had them withdraw their petitions so soon," Seiryu explained. "They just wrote a joint petition, now they all withdraw at once—it's too conspicuous. If the Daimyo is smart, he'll notice."

"So what should we do?" Kakashi asked, becoming serious.

"Don't worry," Seiryu laughed. "It's not a big problem. Even if the Daimyo notices, it doesn't matter. That old man won't live much longer anyway."

Kakashi was surprised.

"By the way, what about the Daimyo's heirs? Did you investigate?"

"Yes. He has two sons. The elder has been named crown prince and is very popular among the people. They say he'll be a benevolent ruler," Kakashi said.

"And the younger son?" Seiryu asked.
