Uchiha Madara’s words were brutally direct—so much so that they bordered on cruelty for the three children. He laid bare a bloody, unvarnished truth, dissecting it layer by layer for them to see, forcing them to confront the harsh realities of the world.
Faced with such a stark and merciless truth, the trio fell silent. Having just endured the harrowing genjutsu, they were at a loss for words.
Seeing their unusual silence, Madara did not rush them. He understood that making such a difficult decision required time—a process he was willing to grant.

The first lesson Madara imparted to the three children was fundamental: how to survive.
At this moment, the children had both the value and capability to live. But with survival came the next question: how should they choose to live?
Would they opt for obscurity, leading quiet, unremarkable lives? Or would they strive to shine brightly, drawing attention and admiration?

If they chose the former, in this cruel world—one that could devour them whole—they might live quietly, or die quietly, fading into insignificance.
But if they chose the latter path, they could achieve prominence and distinction. However, along with that came significantly heightened danger.
As the three children pondered their choice, a sudden commotion arose behind Madara, catching the attention of White Zetsu and the trio.

From the distant bushes, six or seven fully armed ANBU operatives from Konoha emerged. These emotionless, machine-like figures scanned the area, automatically ignoring the turned back of Uchiha Madara and instead locking their sights on Nagato, whom Danzo had ordered to be captured alive at all costs.
Nagato trembled, a bitter smile flickering across his face. Though he didn’t know why, his sharp instincts told him instantly that these men were after him. Once again, he felt the weight of guilt—that his presence had endangered his companions.
The three children grew slightly tense, though the presence of Uchiha Madara gave them an unspoken sense of security. Somehow, they felt reassured that whatever happened, it would be fine. Thus, they remained calm, silently observing the unfolding situation.

The leader of the ANBU operatives drew a kunai, pointing it directly at Nagato. His cold, emotionless voice emanated from beneath his mask:
“This red-haired brat is the target. Capture him alive. Kill anyone else."
As the ANBU operatives prepared to move, Uchiha Madara slowly turned around, his voice laced with unmistakable displeasure:

"You vermin... Are you really so bold as to disregard my presence entirely?"
As Madara fully turned, the ANBU operatives caught sight of who he was. Their faces paled in shock:
"Uchiha Madara!" ×n

Never in their wildest nightmares had they imagined encountering the infamous Uchiha Madara here!
"You Konoha rats truly have guts. Ravaging my lands wasn’t enough? Now you dare lay hands on someone I’ve taken an interest in? Do you want to give me a reason to raze Konoha to the ground?"
Sweat poured down the foreheads of the ANBU operatives as they exchanged uneasy glances, hesitating between fighting and fleeing.
However, Madara showed no intention of giving them even a sliver of a chance. With a flick of his hand, the piercing chirping of *Chidori* erupted in his palm, its dazzling blue light blinding the three children.

At the sound of the shrill, crackling electricity, the six or seven ANBU operatives’ hair stood on end, and they immediately prepared to flee.
In a low murmur, Madara uttered:
"Lightning Instant Movement!"

With a sharp "Zzzt!"—the sound of lightning breaking the sound barrier—the three children watched in awe as Madara transformed into a streak of blue lightning. In the blink of an eye, the blue flash swept past the six or seven ANBU operatives before returning to its original position.
The operatives, caught off guard by Madara’s instantaneous assault, froze in place. A surge of electricity coursed through their bodies, followed by smoke rising from their lifeless forms as they collapsed to the ground—utterly dead.
Madara casually shook his hand, dispelling the still-crackling *Chidori*, and turned back to the three children with an air of indifference.

The trio was utterly dumbstruck.
Though they had always believed ninjas to be powerful, they had never imagined that human effort could reach such heights—commanding the lightning of nature, a force often regarded as divine retribution, to obliterate enemies who had chased them relentlessly for days.
An unprecedented, indescribable sense of awe filled the hearts of the three children. The scales of their internal struggle began to tip ever so slightly toward one side, influenced by Madara’s seemingly effortless display of power.

Madara gazed at the trio, unperturbed. He knew their innate potential and restlessness all but guaranteed their choice. People like them, with restless hearts, would inevitably choose to tread the perilous path rather than settle for mediocrity.
Gradually, the three children emerged from their confusion and hesitation, their resolve hardening.
They exchanged glances, each seeing the same unwavering determination reflected in the others’ eyes.

Sharing a knowing smile, they simultaneously raised their heads, looking at Madara with confident grins.
Madara, for once, allowed himself a rare smile:
"It seems you three have made your decision."

Yahiko, the most outspoken of the trio, stepped forward as their representative:
"Yes! Ninja Uncle! We’ve made our choice. The three of us don’t want to live dull, ordinary lives. Though the road ahead will be fraught with danger, we willingly embark on this grand journey! The three of us… we want to become ninjas! We hope you’ll take us under your wing!"
In that instant, as if the moon had broken free from the clouds, Madara revealed a rare, hearty laugh:

"Good, very good! Since you’ve made your choice, I cannot withhold my name from you any longer.
My name is Uchiha Madara, known as the Shinobi War God—an existence feared by the entire ninja world. I am the strongest shinobi alive today, capable of suppressing the Five Great Nations with my strength alone!"
