Naruto: I am Uchiha Fugaku

Chapter 97: Naruto: I am Uchiha Fugaku [97]

"The chakra consumption on my eyes is too severe... I'll have to postpone fusing the Kaguya clan remains."

Originally, Uchiha Fugaku had planned to press on and melt down the corpses of the Kaguya clan in one go.

But upon sensing the toll it was taking on his ocular power, he had no choice but to delay the fusion of the Kaguya clan's bodies.

Exiting the basement, he stepped into the front yard.

Warm sunlight poured down into the courtyard. Uchiha Mikoto wore a dark dress underneath a light-colored apron.

The attire was modest, yet it couldn't hide her graceful figure.

Her black hair flowed naturally down her back, and her delicate features radiated the elegance of a mature woman.

She held a watering can, gently tending to the flowers and plants in the garden.

"Fugaku, finished with everything?"

Seeing him step into the yard, Mikoto turned and looked at him, her beautiful eyes soft and her smile warm.

"Mm, all done."

Fugaku nodded, a smile creeping naturally onto his face.

For over ten days, he had ventured deep into the perilous Land of Water, maintaining a constant state of vigilance.

Though he had now returned to Konoha, his mind hadn't yet adjusted from that taut, battle-ready state.

But the moment he saw Mikoto's smile, that tension finally began to ease, and his entire being relaxed.

"Where's Sasuke?"

"The weather's nice today, so I had one of the servants take him out to play. He needs to spend more time with children his age."

Mikoto replied.

She seemed to catch on to Fugaku's concern and added with a reassuring smile:

"Don't worry. He spent the entire morning training. He hasn't been slacking off."

"Good."

Fugaku nodded with satisfaction. He knew the importance of balancing work and rest.

"You have no idea how popular Sasuke is with the girls. I'm honestly having trouble deciding who to pick as his future bride."

Mikoto said with a spark of amusement.

"Isn't it a bit too early for that? Sasuke is only five years old."

Fugaku chuckled.

"That's exactly why we need to choose early. Let them grow up together—when they marry in the future, the bond will be deeper. Just like us."

Mikoto said with conviction, speaking from experience.

"Well... you make a fair point..."

Fugaku could only agree seeing how serious she was.

"It's just... Sasuke is too popular. I don't even know which girl to pick."

Mikoto frowned, clearly troubled.

"Then pick several. Let him marry them all. That way, the Uchiha clan can grow even stronger."

Fugaku said half-jokingly.

"That actually makes sense."

To his surprise, Mikoto took it seriously. She thought for a moment, then nodded.

"You're right. There's no need to limit him to just one. With how popular he is, letting him marry multiple girls is reasonable—"

Suddenly, her gaze turned sharp, filled with suspicion as she looked at him.

"You're not thinking about doing the same, are you?"

"What? Of course not! Having you is more than enough—I'd never think of anyone else."

Fugaku quickly waved his hands, his survival instincts in full swing.

"I'm just offering advice since you were having trouble deciding."

"Hmph. As long as that's all it is."

Mikoto gave a cute snort, seemingly satisfied with his answer.

Her attention quickly returned to the matter of picking Sasuke's future brides.

"That girl Haruno Sakura is quite nice. Pink hair, very cute. And that Yamanaka Ino girl, with her blonde hair she's adorable too..."

The next day, Uchiha Fugaku, having released his excess energy the night before, was roused awake by his internal clock.

Beside him, Mikoto remained fast asleep, her cheeks still slightly flushed from exhaustion.

He quietly slipped out of bed.

Huff, huff, huff—

In the courtyard, he strapped on weights to his wrists and ankles, then donned a weighted vest over his torso.

With that, he began his taijutsu training.

During his trip to the Land of Water, he had unexpectedly run into Orochimaru—and clashed with him.

Though he failed to kill Orochimaru due to the latter's notorious escape skills, the power of the Eight Gates had left a deep impression on him.

The Eight Gates technique enhanced the body's abilities exponentially.

The stronger the base physique, the greater the power one could unleash when using it.

The foundation of the Eight Gates lay in physical strength. To wield its power effectively, one had to possess a formidable body.

Only by forging a stronger physique could he bring out the full potential of the technique.

After working up a good sweat, Fugaku ended his training.

He showered and changed into his Police Force uniform.

"Fugaku, breakfast is ready!"

Mikoto was already up and had prepared the meal.

Though they had servants, she preferred to cook for her family herself.

"Mm."

After eating, Fugaku left home and headed to the Police Force headquarters.

By late morning, he had processed over a dozen documents.

"Clan Head! Some of our people got into a fight with members of the Shimura clan!"

A female clanswoman rushed in, reporting urgently.

"A fight?"

Fugaku raised an eyebrow.

"What sparked it?"

"Some of our clan were talking about Lady Tsunade making a scene in Root. The Shimura clan overheard and got into an argument. Things escalated, and they ended up fighting."

"They can't even talk about it? How domineering..."

Fugaku let out a cold laugh.

"Clan Head, the Shimura family's already called for backup. I'm worried our people will get hurt."

The woman said anxiously.

"Lead the way."

Fugaku stood and gave the order.

Under her guidance, he led a squad of Police Force members to the scene.

On the street, two groups were in a tense standoff, each with over a dozen people.

One side wore the Uchiha crest—his clan.

The other bore the symbol of the Shimura clan.

Several individuals on both sides were already bruised and bloodied, clearly from an earlier fight.

"You dare slander Lord Danzo!"

"Slander? Deep down, you know whether it's slander or truth."

"Exactly. If Danzo hadn't done anything, why would Lady Tsunade make such a scene in Root?"

"Making baseless claims—if we don't teach you a lesson today, you'll never learn to watch your mouths."

The shouting grew more heated, and another clash seemed imminent.

Fugaku stepped forward, his Police Force officers close behind.

"Enough!"

His sharp command cut through the noise.

The Uchiha immediately fell silent.

The Shimura group, still defiant, tried to speak up—but the hostile gazes from the Police Force made them quickly fall quiet.

"Arrest everyone involved in the fight. If anyone resists, deal with them harshly."

Fugaku ordered, eyes scanning the crowd.

"Yes, Captain!"

His men responded in unison.

After identifying the culprits, some officers moved toward the Uchiha, others toward the Shimura.

"Hold on—!"

A new group arrived from a distance, all wearing the Shimura clan emblem.

At the front was a man in a brown kimono.

"Clan Head Fugaku, isn't it a bit improper for the Police Force to handle this matter?"

Everyone knew the Police Force was effectively controlled by the Uchiha.

With the conflict being between the Uchiha and the Shimura clans, it wasn't hard to guess whose side they'd favor.
