Sato’s trap
Sato never looked at the rude woman again, he ran towards the masked Ninja with a cute smile.
"Are you an anbu?"
"I am being attacked quite a bit since I came to Konoha."
"I am trembling in fear right now Mr Anbu."
The anbu Ninja rolled his eyes, which part of Sato looked scared? He was obviously expecting this to happen.
But he was experienced enough to not argue with the hidden cloud.
"She will receive appropriate punishment."
The anbu bowed to Sato and knocked out the woman with the blunt end of his Kunai.
Sato watched the anbu with a grin.
"I'll be staying near the Uchiha station, it would be better if things like this don't happen around me again."
The anbu nodded, he wanted to agree and move on, but before he could do so, he suddenly froze with a little bit of sweat coming off his forehead.
Just when he was about to agree to Sato's conditions, he realised the implications of what Sato had just said.
"What's the matter?"
Shisui asked the Anbu with a bit of confusion in his voice.
He could see that the anbu was about to agree to Sato's reasonable demands, but didn't dare to agree after thinking of something.
Shisui frowned, he wasn't sure what could be stopping the anbu from agreeing.
Is being attacked so common in Konoha that the anbu can't guarantee such a basic thing?
Shisui couldn't help but wonder.
Sato meanwhile watched Shisui's confusion and shook his head, he clearly didn't understand the importance of Sato's demands.
In fact Sato didn't expect the anbu to understand either, he figured the Hokage will be the only one to understand, but he might have underestimated the anbu.
"Don't think too much Mr Anbu, sometimes being too sharp is not good for you."
"Go and do your job okay?"
Sato's told the anbu in the most gentle tone.
The anbu sighed and smiled sadly, he knew Sato was correct, he will have to pretend he doesn't understand anything and report Sato's demands to the Hokage.
"I understand Sato sama, I'll take my leave."
The anbu bowed to Sato once more and flickered away with the woman, leaving a very confused Shisui and a satisfied Sato.
'What just happened!'
Shisui was extremely confused, he wanted to know what was going on.
He figured he was about to approach Sato anyway, so he decided to ask him about it now.
"Sato kun, do you want to take a walk with me?"
"With me around you nobody can attack you again."
Shisui opened his mouth and gave his guarantee, he wanted to do something for Sato to show that he was not a threat.
Shisui thought this should be enough to show his sincerity, but Sato became silent all of a sudden after seeing Shisui's gentle smile.
"... Shisui San, you are a respectable man."
Sato said out of nowhere.
He stared at the confused Shisui and spoke slowly.
"You want peace from the bottom of your heart, you are a gentle person Shisui san, I can respect that."
"That's why I will give you a warning, if you leave now, you will not be in any trouble, but if you stay and talk to me now, you will be in very big danger."
From the moment Sato had left his house, he was building a trap step by step.
That woman, the anbu and the Uchiha guard, everyone was chosen to be a part of his scheme, and so was Shisui.
But after seeing Shisui approach him without any malicious intentions, even after what he had done to him before, Sato changed his mind.
Shisui was supposed to be his sacrificial pawn, but he no longer wanted to use Shisui as a sacrifice, Sato wanted to win him over instead.
Having someone like Shisui work for him will complete both his missions.
He can tell Yugito that Shisui told him about Hyuga Hiashi's truth, and he can get a strong member for his shadow guard.
Yet winning over Shisui was still a problem he needed to solve.
"Danger?"
Shisui became alert, he realised Sato must have planned something and the anbu had realised that plan back then.
This could be a trap from the hidden cloud, it was in his best interests to leave now and never turn back.
'But.. I can't leave now.'
Shisui was stuck, on one hand was the obvious choice, but on the other hand was his sense of duty.
Shisui didn't hesitate for long, he had already decided to talk to Sato, and he will do that, no matter the cost.
"Let's take a walk Sato kun."
Shisui spoke with the same gentle voice again, and this made Sato give a genuine smile too.
"Okay."
"Shisui san do you know where Ichiraku ramen is? I want to try it once."
Shisui nodded with confidence.
"It's this way, come with me."
Sato and Shisui began walking towards the Ichiraku ramen, a silent atmosphere was maintained between the two.
After a minute of this silence, Shisui couldn't handle it any longer and asked.
"Can you tell me what the matter with the anbu was about?"
"Don't worry, this is my personal request, even if you tell me something I will not leak it to the village."
"Please trust me."
Shisui said seriously, him talking to Sato was his personal wish, it had nothing to do with the village.
Because of this, even if he knew hidden cloud was about to do something, he wouldn't leak that to the village, this was something seperate form his work.
'Figures he will say something like that, this is the same guy who trusted the village enough to tell them he can modify willpower.'
'He is a very trusting fellow.'
Sato thought while walking freely, he had many goals he wanted to fullfill with his traps.
One was finding a source for some news on Hyuga Hiashi, the second was to cause chaos in Konoha and the third was to win Shisui over.
He won't tell Shisui about them, but he had a way in which he could complete all of these goals at once.
"We are given a house near Uchiha guard Shisui san."
"And my demands include that no unreasonable violence should happen around me."
"Now think about it, if they fullfill my demands, that would automatically protect you Uchiha from violence as well."
"You guys are stationed near me, this is unavoidable."
Sato looked at Shisui who's face was slowly losing all colour.
"Yes, your village, even the anbu, knows that they can't stop people from attacking you Uchiha."
"You might not understand this, but this is an order given by Konoha high level."
Sato smiled widely at the now trembling Shisui.
"If I have to guess, the people attacking you are also arranged by the village itself."
"More than likely, Konoha wants to force the Uchiha to rebel, now why do they want to do this, I don't know about that."
"It's your village, this is all I could gather in such a short time."
Sato said gently but Shisui could no longer hear him clearly.
His mind was buzzing, his vision was becoming white, after Sato explained to him from an outside perspective something happened to Shisui.
For the first time in his life, Shisui saw the Uchiha's situation from a point of view which was neither Uchiha nor the village.
And just like that, everything clicked into place, Uchiha's suspicion, the increasing voice of rebellion, the silence form the village, everything made sense.
Shisui's beliefs were shattered all at once.
