Chapter 9: #9 Interrogation #2
Her gaze turned back to the Chunin, cold and unyielding. "And what about Jutsu? Write down everything you know."
The Chunin hesitated, his eyes darting toward his dislocated arm. Karin rolled her eyes and, with a quick motion, popped the bone back into its socket. The man yelped in pain but managed to hold back a scream, his eyes watering.
"You'll live," she said curtly, shoving a notebook and a piece of charcoal into his hands. "Now write."
With shaking hands, the Chunin began scribbling furiously. Karin watched him in silence, her kunai never straying far from his throat. The notebook filled quickly with rough diagrams and descriptions, and when he finally handed it back to her, she scanned the pages.
The first three techniques, the Transformation Technique, the Clone Technique, and the Body Replacement Technique—immediately caught her attention. Though labeled as "basic," she knew better.
The Transformation Technique alone was astounding. The ability to reshape one's entire body, down to the smallest detail, was considered an advanced art in Murim. Only grandmasters of body cultivation could achieve such a feat, and even then, it required decades of refinement. Yet here, it was a foundational skill taught to every shinobi.
'This alone would make someone a legend in my world,' she thought, her lips curling into a faint smirk. 'And they call it basic? These shinobi don't realize the treasure they possess.'
The other techniques were similarly impressive. The Clone Technique was a simple yet effective tool for deception, and the Body Replacement Technique offered unparalleled survival potential. The Temporary Paralysis Technique reminded her of Illusion techniques, a method to stun foes. And then there was the Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique, a Jutsu that allowed one to burrow underground.
"These techniques are interesting," Karin said softly with a malicious looking smile.
The Chunin's eyes widened, but before he could speak, Karin's blade hovered closer to his throat as she whispered. "You must know more."
"I swear, I don't!" the Chunin cried, his voice trembling. "I'm just a Chunin, and that in name Only. The only reason I was promoted was because of a Manpower Shortage during the Last Shinobi World War. I only know low-level techniques! Advanced Jutsu are restricted to higher ranks or clan members!"
"Fine," she said curtly. "What about chakra subtypes? You mentioned elemental Jutsu earlier—what do you know about them?"
The Chunin hesitated, his face pale. Karin slammed the pommel of the kunai against his temple, making him yelp. "Talk," she ordered.
"There are five basic chakra natures," he stammered. "Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Lightning. Every shinobi has an affinity for one of them, but you can train to use others. There are also… subtypes, like Medical Ninjutsu, Sealing Techniques, and Puppet Mastery, but those are specialized fields. I don't know how to use them—I swear!"
Karin's mind whirred as she processed this new information. Elemental affinities were reminiscent of certain martial sects in Murim that specialized in fire or ice techniques. But this idea of training multiple elements intrigued her. If she could master these natures, her versatility in combat would expand exponentially.
"How do you determine your chakra nature?" she asked.
"There's… a special paper," the Chunin explained. "Chakra Nature Paper. It reacts to your chakra and shows your affinity. Fire burns it, Water makes it wet, Earth crumbles it, Wind cuts it, and Lightning crinkles it."
Karin filed the information away. She would need to acquire this paper at some point.
"Now," she said, leaning closer, "tell me everything you know about training methods."
The Chunin repeated what he had already told her—Leaf Sticking, Tree Climbing, Water Walking—but added one more detail. "I've heard that Puppet Masters from Sunagakure use Chakra Strings to train their control. It's… like threading a needle, but with chakra. Maybe you could practice by moving small objects, like pebbles or kunai, but I'm not sure."
Karin's lips curled into a faint smirk. That technique sounded particularly useful for fine-tuning her precision.
When the Chunin fell silent, Karin straightened and studied him. His eyes were bloodshot, his face pale and streaked with sweat. He was clearly terrified.
"You've been cooperative," she said softly, her tone deceptively kind. "And for that, I'll let you live—for now."
She raised her kunai and brought it down, cutting the bindings on his legs. The Chunin froze, his gaze darting to the corpse of his companion and then back to Karin. "What… what do you want me to do?"
"Write down every scrap of information you can remember," she ordered. "Techniques, tactics, anything. If it's even slightly useful, I want it."
The Chunin nodded quickly and set to work, scribbling furiously in the notebook.
However, after Finishing Writing down and trying to speak to the tiny Monster before him his world suddenly went Dark.
Karin Has used the Kunai and Severed his Brain Stem, she had no further use for this weakling and leaving him alive was idiotic as he would simply tell others about her.
She simply Threw the Body into a Thick Nearby Bush trying her Best to hide any involvement by ripping his Limbs apart first.
Karin herself thought. 'They would never suspect the timid Karin Uzumaki to ever be capable of such Brutality so that is a decent enough cover for the short time I'll still be here.'
