Naruto: Getting Observation Haki By Sacrificing The Byakugan

Chapter 151: CHAPTER 151

As expected, Danzo had still reached this point. The peaceful rest of his teacher in death was not as important to him as his own survival.

And the fact that he could so quickly use the Summoning Technique at this moment could only mean that Danzo had long since prepared suitable sacrifices.

Therefore, while Danzo had some respect for his teacher, it was clearly limited.

From the sidelines, Kawaki Aoba observed everything with his Tenseigan. He didn't think highly of Danzo. Unless Danzo had selected a Kage-level ninja as a sacrifice, even summoning the First and Second Hokage wouldn't guarantee overwhelming combat strength—especially not against someone like Nagato, who could unleash the Shinra Tensei that had leveled an entire village.

Two coffins rose before Danzo. As the lids creaked open, the figures inside were slowly revealed.

It was the First and Second Hokage.

There were no visible cracks or decay on their bodies resurrected via the Impure World Reincarnation (Edo Tensei), but the question remained—how much of their power could they actually exert?

"Ah! Where is this?" Hashirama Senju blinked, looking around in confusion, clearly unaware of the current situation.

Tobirama Senju, by contrast, immediately surveyed his surroundings and examined his Edo Tensei body with sharp attention.

"This chakra... This jutsu—Impure World Reincarnation? As I thought, someone used this forbidden technique again."

He moved his arms and legs, feeling no immediate forced control. That fact alone told him that the one who summoned them was either cautious or respectful—or perhaps simply inexperienced.

Tobirama thought to himself: It must be a critical crisis for them to resort to reviving the dead Hokage.

But when he turned to see who was responsible, his expression stiffened.

"Sharingan? You're... Danzo?" His tone was uncertain, but he recognized his former subordinate. Yet the sight of Danzo's right arm—lined with multiple Sharingan—and the Sharingan in his right eye socket left him speechless.

Hashirama had also stepped out of his coffin by then. His expression immediately darkened upon seeing Danzo's grotesque modifications.

Danzo's heart skipped a beat. He had considered the possibility of forcibly controlling them, but that would drastically weaken their power—too risky in this situation.

He had, however, already prepared a justification.

"First Hokage, teacher," Danzo began, bowing respectfully. "Konoha is under unprecedented threat. That is why we had to call upon you."

"As for the Sharingan… they were entrusted to me by fallen Uchiha comrades. I promised them their eyes would continue to protect the village—that they would still see this beautiful world. Everything I've done has been for Konoha."

"Hmm? Is that so? Then I really misjudged you, young one," Hashirama said with a soft, naïve smile.

Only Hashirama could be so trusting.

Tobirama, meanwhile, remained silent. He knew all too well what kind of person Danzo was. The idea that the Uchiha willingly gave away their Sharingan—especially to Danzo Shimura—was laughable. And if Danzo had inherited any of Tobirama's ideology, it certainly wasn't the part about integrity.

Still, Tobirama decided not to confront him. There would be time for that—if they survived this crisis.

Just then, the summoned creature blocking their path vanished in a puff of white smoke.

A cold voice pierced the air.

"How long are you going to talk?"

Nagato's chilling tone cut off Tobirama's thoughts.

The Senju brothers turned to face him. Both immediately noticed the immense chakra radiating from him.

"So that's the enemy?" Hashirama's expression grew serious. "His chakra is overwhelming."

But what really caught Tobirama's attention was Nagato's eyes—the Rinnegan.

"Those eyes... are they the legendary Rinnegan?"

He scanned the ruined terrain. This wasn't Konoha. It didn't even resemble the Land of Fire's climate. Piecing the clues together, Tobirama surmised: Danzo must be after this boy's eyes...

As for what happened before their summoning, Tobirama didn't care. Unlike his brother, he didn't see the world in black and white. All that mattered was that this Rinnegan wielder posed a threat to Konoha.

"Danzo," Tobirama said calmly, "what do you know about this enemy?"

Danzo answered immediately, hiding nothing. "Be careful, teacher. His abilities are extremely dangerous. He can manipulate gravity and repulsion, absorb chakra and ninjutsu, and control large summoned beasts instantly. He may also use powerful genjutsu, though that hasn't been confirmed."

Tobirama's brow twitched slightly as he looked over the leveled terrain.

"Gravity and repulsion, you say?"

Danzo added, "Don't worry, teacher. Based on his previous use, he shouldn't be able to use that repulsion technique again so soon."

But before he could finish, Nagato calmly raised his hand.

"Shinra Tensei."

Tobirama had been ready thanks to Danzo's warning, but even then, the force was nearly overwhelming.

However, Tobirama was not just any shinobi.

"Flying Thunder God Technique!" In a flash of light, he vanished just as the repulsion wave hit, teleporting to a marked kunai in the distance.

Meanwhile, Hashirama had finished his own preparations.

"Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence!"

A vast forest burst from the ground, titanic trees rising toward the heavens, twisting and converging to trap Nagato in a crushing grip.

At that very moment, the power in Nagato's Rinnegan suddenly erupted.

"Shinra Tensei!" (Almighty Push)

The ability Danzo had just claimed was unusable exploded forth once again, blasting away the dense grove of Wood Style trees and smacking the aged war hawk with an invisible repulsive force.

Witnessing this, Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju frowned in unison.

While they didn't underestimate Nagato's strength, the current display of Hashirama's Wood Style was clearly underwhelming.

"Hmph. This is the famed Wood Style of the First Hokage? So much for legends," Nagato scoffed coldly, then lunged toward the Senju brothers.

"Brother, restrain the scale of your jutsu. Your current state can't handle large-scale Wood Style," Tobirama warned, his eyes narrowing.

"I know," Hashirama replied, his expression grim. His Reanimation form severely limited his capabilities, and he could no longer invoke Sage Mode instantly as he once could.

"I need time to gather natural energy," he said, frustrated. "Tobirama, stall him for me."

Tobirama nodded. "Understood."

On the other side, Danzo Shimura, watching the exchange, grit his teeth and rushed forward.

Orochimaru, watching from the shadows, licked his lips. "Rinnegan... I'm coming for you."

Tobirama's sharp peripheral vision caught Danzo's charge. Despite his disdain for his former pupil's methods, he acknowledged the man's courage.

At least Danzo hadn't forgotten what it meant to be a shinobi.

As the two closed in, Nagato raised his hand and targeted the weaker of the two.

"Banshō Ten'in!" (Universal Pull)

"Don't worry about me, sensei!" Danzo shouted, but he was yanked forward effortlessly.

Seeing the opportunity, Tobirama hurled a marked Flying Thunder God kunai, then formed hand seals with one hand at incredible speed.

"Suiton: Suiryūdan no Jutsu!" (Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Technique)

The water dragon surged alongside Danzo, but Nagato didn't flinch. With a single hand seal, he activated the Preta Path.

"Fūinjutsu: Chakra Absorption!"

The incoming jutsu was absorbed in an instant.

In that brief window, Tobirama teleported to his kunai and reappeared right before Nagato, lightning-charged blade in hand. The Second Hokage was a fearsome swordsman—if ninjutsu failed, then steel would do the job.

After all, the Preta Path couldn't absorb physical attacks.

However, Nagato didn't need to rely on Preta Path alone.

"Shinra Tensei!"

A violent force exploded from him. Tobirama's Reanimated body was shattered instantly, and Danzo was flung through the air like a ragdoll.

Bones cracked mid-air. With the earlier chakra drain, Danzo teetered at death's edge.

Even so, the combined effort wasn't in vain—they had bought enough time.

Hashirama's eyes opened, now marked by orange pigmentation. Sage Mode was activated.

"Senpō: Mokuton: Mokujin no Jutsu!" (Sage Art: Wood Style: Wood Human Technique)

A wooden giant more than 10 meters tall erupted from the earth. While far smaller than his peak creations, this was the best Hashirama could muster in his weakened state.

Across from him, Nagato swiftly formed hand seals.

"Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" (Summoning Technique)

With a burst of white smoke, he summoned the multi-headed dog, giant bird, chameleon, and other Animal Path beasts he once used to invade Konoha.

Having fought Wood Style numerous times under Uchiha Madara's training, Nagato was no stranger to its capabilities.

Although this wooden giant was no match for Madara's behemoths, Nagato remained cautious. Distracting it with summoned beasts was the best tactical move.

Meanwhile, Nagato's gaze turned back to Danzo.

He could tell that the Senju brothers were Reanimations—Tobirama had just been blown apart and yet had already regenerated. Therefore, the key to ending this was the summoner: Danzo.

At that moment, Danzo activated a Three-Tomoe Sharingan in his arm, triggering Izanagi, restoring himself to his pre-injury state.

Tobirama, having reassembled his body, twitched in visible annoyance.

He immediately recognized Izanagi, the forbidden Uchiha technique. But seeing Danzo use it so wastefully—consuming Sharingan after Sharingan—made him frown.

Each activation sacrificed a powerful eye. Where had Danzo acquired an entire arm full of them? Tobirama could only guess—probably during the chaos of the Third Great Ninja War.

Before he could think further, Nagato advanced again.

Without hesitation, Tobirama teleported in front of Danzo using the Flying Thunder God Technique, blade raised.

He was a teacher first—and no matter what Danzo had become, Tobirama wouldn't let him fall without a fight.
