Naruto: From Konoha to One Piece

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Green Beast of Konoha

"That guy… he's the Kurogami!" Kakashi whispered to Kurenai and Guy, trying to keep his emotions in check.

"What?" Kurenai's face turned serious. "Are you sure about that?"

"Absolutely! Although his disguise is flawless, I could never forget that presence, not for as long as I live!"

"Then we must inform Lord Hokage immediately!" Kurenai said firmly. "If he stirs up trouble in Konoha, it could be as disastrous as the Nine-Tails' attack!"

"I understand. Wait… where's Guy?" Kakashi's eyes widened as he turned to find Guy rushing toward the enemy.

"Kurenai, you go on and report to Hokage-sama! I'll deal with that fool, Guy!" Kakashi gritted his teeth, then darted after him.

Kurenai watched them disappear around the corner and sighed. "Can't these guys act a bit more rationally?" She shook her head the hurried to the Hokage Building.

Meanwhile, further down the street, Shin and Hyuga Hizashi were calmly strolling along. Hizashi suddenly looked back and said, "Someone appears to be following us, sir."

"Yes, I noticed. As long as he doesn't try anything, there's no need to worry," Shin replied with a smile. "After the last incident, I'd expect Konoha's ninjas to be more cautious. They wouldn't dare attack me outright within their village."

Shin didn't believe his encounter with Kakashi had been accidental; Kakashi must have recognized him and, knowing his identity, was exercising caution.

Currently, Konoha simply couldn't endure another major disaster. With Jiraiya still missing, the village was likely even more on edge than usual.

"Konoha Whirlwind!"

No sooner had Shin finished speaking, a powerful kick came flying toward his head. Time seemed to stop for a moment.

"Ow! So hard… so hard!" Guy winced, clutching his leg with a pained expression. "That head is harder than steel!"

Guy wasn't exaggerating. With years of physical training and chakra-enhanced strength, he could easily dent metal with a kick like that. But hitting Shin's head felt like kicking an immovable mountain, and it left him nearly limping.

Shin's face darkened. His skin was coated with a layer of haki—definitely not because he was taken aback by the unexpected kick.

Hizashi, unfazed, kept his gaze forward, seemingly oblivious to the scene. After a pause, Shin muttered, "Well, I suppose the logic of some ninjas differs from the rest of us."

Mighty Guy, meanwhile, had taken his taijutsu stance, his left hand reaching forward and his right arm bent behind his back.

"The Green Beast of Konoha, Mighty Guy, is here!"

"Kurogami, surrender yourself!"

The atmosphere grew tense as if two imaginary crows were calling out "fool" in the distance.

"Guy, you idiot!" Kakashi finally arrived, his tone filled with exasperation. Though annoyed at his friend, he still assumed a defensive stance beside him.

"Well, things have reached this point anyway. Kurogami, I'll settle things with you today," Kakashi said, his expression grim.

Shin gave the two an amused glance. "Do you think the two of you can 'settle things'? Kakashi, without the Sharingan, can you even control your Raikiri accurately? And Guy, how many gates can you open now with the Eight Inner Gates Jutsu?"

Even if Guy had the potential to fight on par with the top elites when fully powered up, Shin knew Guy was far from reaching that level. And with his own combined strengths, Shin felt no fear, even if Guy could open all eight gates.

As for Kakashi, the Sharingan was more of a burden than a blessing for him. Perhaps if Kakashi had spent the past decade adjusting without it, he'd be stronger now, but it had only been three years since his last battle. Whether this loss had made him stronger or weaker was still an open question.

Shin shrugged slightly, "Honestly, even if I overestimate you both, you have no chance against me. Unless you, Guy, can open the Eighth Gate or you, Kakashi, have reclaimed the Sharingan, there's nothing either of you can do here."

"I can only open the Sixth Gate right now," Guy admitted. "But youth never fails! If I push hard enough…"

Kakashi sighed. Guy was as transparent as always—physically powerful but utterly lacking in caution.

With that, Kakashi formed hand signs, and lightning began crackling around his hands directed at Shin.

Initially, the lightning crackled and flashed with sharp intensity, but as Kakashi focused, it calmed and became as cohesive and clear as water, buzzing quietly in a low hum.

Shin raised an eyebrow in mild surprise. "Seems losing the Sharingan hasn't hindered you after all."

He made no attempt to interfere; instead, he watched Kakashi with interest. The improved control over his lightning technique was a testament to Kakashi's growth despite the handicap of losing his Sharingan.

Kakashi's reputation as a genius had initially suffered due to setbacks and grief, but Shin could see now that there was still potential left in the silver-haired ninja. In his younger days, Kakashi had been a diligent and disciplined shinobi. Yet, after losing so many loved ones, he'd grown detached. The once-driven youth became the man who spent his days reading, arriving late to meetings, or reflecting on past regrets at his friends' graves.

'No wonder he hasn't progressed much since,' Shin thought, shaking his head.
