Chapter 228: Chapter 228: The Forgotten Rival

"Wuwuwu, Page One, I lost my dignity as an older sister." Ulti cried, burying her face in Page One's chest.

Page One looked helpless. "Sister, you just danced. Do you really need to be this upset?"

"Damn it! Do you not care about your sister? Have you also fallen into the illusion of that damn three-eyes?!"

Ulti's expression shifted as she irritably grabbed Page One's collar and shook him until he was dizzy.

"Hehe, Ulti, don't you see how much you're annoying your brother?" Charlotte Pudding teased with a smile.

"Bastard! What does that have to do with us siblings?!" Ulti shouted back at Charlotte Pudding while holding onto Page One, who was already foaming at the mouth.

"Hum hum hum, "Pudding hummed mysteriously, making Ulti grit her teeth in frustration. However, she didn't dare to lash out directly.

The reason was simple. After training in the art of spiritual transformation, Pudding had finally awakened the latent power of the Three-Eyed Tribe—evolving her Sharingan into Mangekyō Sharingan!

Upon awakening it, Pudding gained the ability to summon Susanoo, both an offensive and defensive force. Additionally, she acquired three unique Mangekyō Sharingan abilities, making her exponentially stronger.

Now, even in a direct confrontation, Ulti was no longer Pudding's match, so she wisely refrained from provoking her.

"Speaking of which, we've already defeated all three of Moria's top subordinates. Why hasn't Moria shown himself yet?"

The ever-serious Kyros frowned as he voiced the question.

Shin shook his head and turned to Violet. "I suppose only Violet, with her clairvoyance, can answer that."

Violet's expression turned strange. "That guy, Moria, is still sleeping..."

Silence fell over the group.

Their enemies had already invaded his territory, and Moria was still asleep?! It was almost unbelievable.

Meanwhile, the group continued to battle strange zombies, and Violet, who was monitoring the situation, suddenly furrowed her brows. "A fat guy woke Moria up!"

Shin thought for a moment. "Could it be that famous surgeon? What's his name again?"

"Hogback! He's a genius surgeon, skilled in human modifications. He's the one responsible for stitching together these strange creatures and many of the zombies," Charlotte Pudding explained, drawing on Perona's memories.

"However, he lacks combat abilities and serves solely as support. Our true opponent remains Moria."

As the group discussed, countless pitch-black bats emerged from the distant castle, accompanied by Moria's eerie laughter.

"Kishishishi! Who dares to trespass in my domain? You are all seeking death!"

Shin rolled his eyes. 'This deadweight of a man dares to act like a dark lord? He's not even remotely intimidating.'

No matter how you look at someone like Alucard, he exudes the presence of a final boss. Moria, on the other hand, just comes across as an overgrown slob.

That said, the Shadow-Shadow Fruit did have abilities that carried a certain presence, giving Moria a semblance of intimidation. Without it, his entrance would've been outright laughable.

'Bats and shadows… this Devil Fruit has quite a bit in common with a Vampire Fruit. Maybe it's worth considering in the future.'

As Shin pondered, Ulti had already stepped forward, speaking with arrogance.

"Gecko Moria! Get out here and die!"

Moria landed on the ground, his onion-shaped body jiggling as he sneered. "Damn it! Kaido's lackeys actually found me!"

"Are you trying to eliminate me before my zombie army is complete?"

Ulti frowned. She hadn't expected Moria to recognize her, but what was he rambling about? When had Kaido ever cared about Moria's so-called 'threat'?

Of course, from Kaido's perspective, Moria was nothing more than a past opponent—one who had suffered a crushing defeat and fallen into despair afterward. Moria had long since stopped being relevant.

However, in Moria's mind, Kaido remained his ultimate target for revenge. He had memorized every officer in the Beasts Pirates, which was why he recognized Ulti immediately.

His delusions of persecution had persisted for so long that even he had started believing them. Deep down, he couldn't admit that he was too afraid to re-enter the New World, so he had convinced himself that he was merely biding his time, gathering corpses and shadows to prepare for his revenge.

After deceiving himself for so long, he truly believed that Kaido considered him a threat. So when he saw Ulti, he immediately assumed Kaido was trying to eliminate him.

In reality, he was no Kozuki Oden. Kaido hadn't thought about him in years. If someone asked Kaido about Moria now, the most likely response would be, "Who?"

Snapping out of his thoughts, Moria bellowed, "Come forth, my most powerful zombie army!"

As soon as he spoke, a horde of bizarre zombies rushed forward. Among them, a zombie swordsman wielding a black blade stood out, exuding a powerful and menacing aura.

"That sword… it's the black blade, Shusui. Could that zombie be the legendary dragon-slaying swordsman, Ryuma?!" Page One exclaimed.

As a member of the Beasts Pirates, he frequently traveled in and out of Wano, so he was well-versed in Ryuma's history.

"Kishishishi! That's right! He is one of my trump cards. Originally, I had planned to use him against Kaido, but you, Kaido's lackeys, will get a taste of his power first!" Moria cackled, his face twisted in a manic grin.

In truth, whether it was the colossal zombie, Oars, or the legendary swordsman, Ryuma, Moria's fixation on Kaido was evident. Kaido was an oni, and he had eaten the Azure Dragon Fruit.

Had these warriors been alive, they might have posed a real threat to Kaido. But as zombies?

Moria was being hopelessly naive.
