CHAPTER 98] The 'I Have Nothing More to Teach You' Problem!
Weeks had passed, and the calendar now read June 24th.
In Training Ground Three, a focused Sakura stood, her expression stern as she formed a complex hand seal above her head.
"Demonic Illusion: Double False Surrounding!" she declared.
"Very good," Kakashi said, a simple nod of approval.
Sakura sighed. "Sensei, training in Genjutsu with you isn't worth it. I can't even be sure if it really worked."
Kakashi chuckled softly. "Don't worry, you're doing very well, more than my initial expectations."
A small smile bloomed on Sakura's face at his praise. Over the past several weeks, she had, to her own surprise, managed to learn all the Genjutsu Kakashi had taught her.
Her combat spars with him had also significantly improved her skills. Just last week, she had fully mastered the Mystical Palm Jutsu and, on Kakashi's orders, had stopped her medical ninjutsu training. From later on, she would learn directly under Tsunade.
"With your current level, you can easily affect a Chūnin-level shinobi," Kakashi said. "Even I'm surprised by how much your skills have improved. The combat training with your gravity seals has likely improved your chakra reserves, and your medical ninjutsu training has sharpened your chakra control."
Sakura nodded. "Yeah, I can now easily use the Wild Water Wave Jutsu at full power. My reserves are pretty good."
She looked up at Kakashi. "Sensei, so what will I learn for the remaining week?"
Kakashi answered without pause. "A defensive Earth Ninjutsu, the Earth Dome Jutsu."
Sakura nodded in understanding. Kakashi had already informed them that the Chūnin Exams would start on July 1st, and Hiruzen would officially announced it soon, opening registration soon.
A little distance away, Naruto and Sasuke were sparring against each other.
"Lightning Release: Chidori Current!"
Sasuke announced, and bolts of electricity shot out from his body, zapping several of Naruto's Shadow Clones. Naruto, knowing it was a spar, did not use Kurama's chakra.
It wasn't just Sakura who had improved. Sasuke had also learned all the Kenjutsu strikes from the Hatake Clan's Kenjutsu scroll, and Kakashi had taught him various Chidori variants.
Sasuke learned them quickly and could use them with his Kenjutsu remarkably well. Kakashi suspected that Sasuke was more proficient in Lightning Release than Fire Release, despite being an Uchiha, which would explain why he used so many lightning ninjutsu in the anime.
This could also be a result of him being the reincarnation of Indra.
Meanwhile, Naruto had learned a few more sealing techniques but had not yet begun training in Rasenshuriken. Kakashi had advised him to focus on getting used to Kurama's power first.
After all, in his Full Bijuu Mode Cloak, he could use Rasenshuriken without worrying about self-harm, when learned it, as that form offered benefits similar to Sage Mode. And thanks to his high vitality and Yang Release Chakra, Naruto could now easily use up to seven tails of Version 2 Bijuu Mode without worrying about skin burns or strain.
And if he went all out, all nine tails were possible, meaning Full Bijuu Mode wasn't far away.
Back to the spar, after eliminating Naruto's Shadow Clones, Sasuke flickered in a blur of speed towards Naruto, his sword, infused with Chidori's chakra, gripped firmly in his hand.
"Rasengan!"
Naruto also flickered towards Sasuke, his right hand glowing with a spiraling blue chakra ball. He thrust the Rasengan towards Sasuke, who smirked.
"How simple!" Sasuke sidestepped, his sword slicing the Rasengan in Naruto's hand. The Rasengan immediately vanished, and Naruto's eyes widened in surprise while Sasuke's smirk grew wider.
Naruto looked at him and smirked back. "Got ya!"
"Rasengan!"
Sasuke frowned. His two-tomoe Sharingan, which had been active throughout the fight, spun slowly. The Naruto in front of him vanished in a puff of smoke.
As Sasuke turned back, the real Naruto, with a Rasengan already formed, was close to him, thrusting it into his side.
Bang!
Sasuke slammed into a nearby tree, his sword flying from his hand, and he spat a mouthful of blood. However, neither Sakura nor Kakashi rushed to him. Both knew that this wasn't a serious injury.
"Looks like it's my win!" Naruto said, a smug grin on his face.
Sasuke stood up, wiping the blood from his mouth. "This is only your fourth win in dozens of battles. Don't get so smug about it."
He picked up his sword and walked to Kakashi. "He's still able to fool me with his Shadow Clones again, even with my Sharingan activated. How? What's going on?"
Kakashi reassured him. "Don't feel down. Your Sharingan is only at two-tomoe. While that's not bad, Naruto's current strength raised too high. Your perception can't clearly sense the changes yet."
Sasuke looked down, sighing heavily. Kakashi put an assuring hand on his shoulder. "You still have room for growth."
Kakashi then thought, 'Sakura has already learned from me, and I have nothing extra to train Naruto in. Only Sasuke is left for me to help further.'
Just then, a messenger hawk flew down and landed on Kakashi's shoulder. Kakashi unrolled the message, the. his gaze sweeping over his team. "Okay, I have to go, so let's call it a day. You can have the rest of the day free." With that, Kakashi flickered away.
