Naruto: Chakra System

Chapter 8: [CHAPTER 8] The Punctual Procrastinator

A few days passed. Kakashi's time in Konoha went well, as he made himself more familiar with the surroundings.

Though he already held memories of everything, he decided to personally acquaint himself with places and people he only had memories of, either from the anime or original Kakashi's vivid experiences. And...

Today was finally the day of the team assignments, and all the appointed Jōnin sat in the staff room of the Ninja Academy. Iruka Umino would first went to inform the Genin after the teams formation.

Once Iruka finished his part, one by one, all the Jōnin could come and take their respective Genin teams within half an hour. Everyone was present in the Jōnin ranks—Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yūhi, Genma Shiranui, and others—with only Kakashi yet to arrive.

It was already 10 AM, and all the appointed Jōnin and Special Jōnin were chatting among themselves when the door slowly opened. The figure of Kakashi, in his usual Jōnin attire, face mask, and one eye hidden under his forehead protector, appeared.

Before, the reason Kakashi hid his Sharingan was mainly due to its chakra drainage. But now, the problem of chakra drain had been resolved thanks to the system.

However, a new problem had comes. His Three-Tomoe Sharingan was now the Mangekyō Sharingan, which he didn't want to reveal so early, lest Danzō decide to take action against him, obviously—FOR KONOHA!

Seeing Kakashi walking towards them, with his hands in the pockets of his dark blue pants, everyone glanced at him curiously. Asuma was the first to speak and said, "Kakashi, I didn't expect you to be so punctual. You actually came on just time."

Kakashi let out a dry laugh, waving his hand towards all the present Jōnin. "Morning, everyone!" he greeted. With that said, he took a seat on an empty chair in the staff room.

He looked around and first to saw Asuma, whose brown eyes casually glanced at Kakashi with a hint of surprise. Asuma had olive skin, short black spiky hair, and a beard, somewhat similar to his father, Hiruzen Sarutobi, when he was young.

His clothing consisted of the standard Konoha ninja uniform with the sleeves rolled up halfway, a flak jacket, regular shinobi sandals, and a forehead protector. He also wore a sash with the kanji for "Fire" marked on it around his waist, a pair of black bangles, and bandages wrapped around his forearms.

Just beside him sat a beautiful Kunoichi Jōnin, Kurenai Yūhi. Kurenai was a fair-skinned woman of slender build, with a very attractive face.

She had long, untamed black hair reaching her upper back and very unique eyes that were red, with an additional ring in them, but obviously not a Sharingan. She wore makeup consisting of red lipstick and purple eyeshadow.

Her outfit consisted of a red mesh armor blouse with only the right sleeve visible. Her hands and upper thighs were also wrapped in bandages, and she wore the Konoha forehead protector and regular shinobi sandals.

Kakashi then glanced at the others. At last, his eye landed on Genma, whom he hadn't interacted with in the past week since he had transmigrated.

Genma had brown, shoulder-length hair that framed his face and brown eyes. He wore his forehead protector like a bandanna, the standard Jōnin outfit, and his as always senbon in his mouth.

Finding Genma here, Kakashi was a little surprised, though he knew that Genma was a Special Jōnin like Anko and could lead a Genin team.

Genma felt his gaze and asked, "Why are you looking at me with curious gaze?"

Kakashi shrugged and said, "I didn't expect you to be here as well."

Genma laughed. "It's the opposite, actually. We didn't expect you to arrive here this early."

Kakashi lazily waved his hands. "I didn't mean it like that. I didn't expect you to also be selected as a Jōnin sensei."

Genma sighed lightly in response and said, "Well, what can I say, Sandaime-sama wants me to teach a few Genin brats, so I can't refuse."

He then added, "Moreover, my team is all boys. But it doesn't matter. If they pass my test, they'll be Genin under me; otherwise, they'll either join the Genin reserve force or go back to the academy again."

Asuma quickly said to Genma, "Hey, don't go around giving those poor kids any tough tests."

Genma waved his hand casually. "I know, I know. I'll be fair. I'll give them a simple test. Test to land a single hit on me together. If they do, they pass."

Kurenai rejoined and said, "That's not fair. How can newly graduated Genin land a hit on a seasoned Jōnin?"

Genma shrugged. "Well, I'll give them a handicap, so it would be fair."

Kakashi narrowed his visible eye. "And what would that handicap be?" he asked.

Genma casually replied, "I won't use my one hand during the test."

Everyone in the room sighed. This still didn't make things fair for the Genin.

Kakashi nodded and asked "As expected of you. But who are your supposed students?"

Genma replied, "All are civilian kids. One is named Hikari, another is Daiki, and the last is Daichi."

All the nine Jōnin then talked amoung themselves for a while, before time comes for them to take there Genin squad with them.
