Chapter 46: Fight!
As soon as the words left Rock Lee's mouth, he shot forward with stunning speed, closing the distance between them in an instant. The sheer force of his launch kicked up a cloud of dust, the ground cracking slightly beneath his feet.
Akuma braced himself as Lee leaped high into the air, twisting his body for a powerful overhead kick aimed straight at his head. Without hesitation, Akuma raised both arms and blocked the strike with ease, his muscles tensing as the impact sent a small tremor through the ground beneath him.
Seeing that his attack had no effect, Lee didn't pause. While still airborne, he spun and delivered a lightning-fast sideways kick toward Akuma's ribs. But Akuma, his reflexes honed to perfection, caught the strike with his hand before countering with a straight jab aimed at Lee's stomach.
Lee attempted to twist his body to evade the attack, but he quickly realized it was futile—Akuma was still holding onto his leg, preventing him from escaping. With no room to maneuver, Akuma's punch connected, though he had pulled his strength back at the last moment. Even so, the force sent Lee flying backward. All of this sequence happened in less than a second.
However, in midair, Lee reacted instantly. With remarkable agility, he twisted his body, shifting his weight in just the right way to land gracefully on his feet. The way he recovered so effortlessly reminded Akuma of a cat, landing on its paws no matter how it fell.
Lee's eyes locked onto Akuma's, burning with sharp intensity.
"Heh… I knew it," Lee said, a grin forming on his face. "You really have been holding back all this time."
Akuma simply smiled and gestured for Rock Lee to attack again.
Seeing that confident expression, Lee instantly increased his speed, launching toward Akuma with tremendous force. This time, rather than attacking from the air—something he had initially believed would make his movements unpredictable—he opted for a ground-based assault. While aerial attacks offered dynamic strikes, he had realized that Akuma's reaction speed was so sharp that he could catch him midair, leaving him vulnerable to counters.
With that in mind, Lee shot forward and aimed a powerful right hook at Akuma's ribs. However, Akuma effortlessly blocked it with his forearm. Undeterred, Lee followed up with a rapid jab, then another, and another. He didn't stop. His strikes became a relentless barrage, his speed increasing with every attack.
Left hook. Right jab. High kick. Low sweep.
Lee's assault was a blur of motion, his fists and feet moving like a storm, striking from every possible angle. In mere moments, he had unleashed over 400 punches and 50 kicks—yet not a single one landed.
Akuma blocked them all. Effortlessly.
Lee's eyes widened in disbelief. He had underestimated his little brother. Even after launching an all-out flurry of attacks, Akuma wasn't even winded. His breathing remained steady, his stance relaxed, his expression calm.
Meanwhile, Lee could feel himself growing tired. His arms and legs were beginning to burn, his stamina slowly depleting. He clenched his fists.
Realizing he couldn't afford to drag this battle out any longer, Lee made a decision—he had to finish this quickly.
Lee took a deep breath, his gaze locked onto Akuma with unwavering determination. "Little brother, you're strong… but I need to finish this quickly. Let me show you a move I learned from Guy Sensei!"
With that, Rock Lee began unraveling the bandages wrapped around his hands, letting them fall loosely to the ground. As the strips extended far beyond his own height, he grinned enthusiastically.
"Primary Lotus!"
Akuma's eyes narrowed the moment he heard those words. He instantly recognized what was happening Guy Sensei must have taught Lee how to open the Eight Gates. And the Primary Lotus was a technique that utilized the First Gate's power. From the sheer pressure radiating off Lee's body, Akuma could tell that his strength had increased more than fourfold.
A thrill of excitement surged through him. Finally... a real fight!
"Bring it on, Brother Lee!" Akuma said, his voice brimming with anticipation.
As soon as he finished speaking, Lee exploded forward, his speed tearing apart the ground beneath his feet, leaving massive cracks in his wake. Akuma barely had time to react before Lee's foot rocketed toward his abdomen.
Fast!
Akuma raised his arm just in time to block the kick, but the sheer force sent him flying backward. He crashed through several trees, snapping them like twigs before finally coming to a stop.
Lee's expression shifted to concern. "Are you okay, little brother?"
Before he could get an answer, a shadow loomed above him.
Akuma was descending from the sky—mirroring Lee's earlier attack—with his own devastating airborne kick, aimed straight at Lee's head.
Lee's instincts kicked in. Just as Akuma had done before, Lee raised both arms and blocked the strike.
The moment their bodies clashed, the ground beneath Lee shattered violently, splintering apart as if struck by a falling meteor. Dust and debris exploded outward, filling the air.
Lee gritted his teeth, his arms trembling slightly from the impact. Seeing that Rock Lee had managed to block the attack, Akuma quickly executed a backflip, landing gracefully on his feet.
Akuma grinned, his blood pumping with excitement.
"Not bad, Brother Lee! Not bad at all! Show me everything you've got!" he shouted, his voice brimming with anticipation.
Rock Lee's eyes widened slightly before a proud smile spread across his face. Even after opening the First Gate, Akuma could still match his strength. That fact alone made Lee's heart race with exhilaration.
"Then I won't hold back!" Lee declared, his grin never fading.
In an instant, he accelerated, his speed increasing as he launched a relentless flurry of punches and kicks. He moved fluidly—attacking from the front, the back, the left, the right—his strikes coming from every direction like a raging storm. Yet, no matter how fast or precise his attacks were, Akuma blocked every single one. It was as if he could see them before they even came.
Then, with a sudden burst of power, Lee spun and delivered a devastating uppercut. But even that was stopped Akuma caught it with both hands, his muscles tensed like steel.
However, Lee wasn't done.
The moment his uppercut was blocked, he swiftly raised his knee, aiming directly for Akuma's abdomen. It was blindingly fast—too fast for most to react to—but Akuma saw it coming. He attempted to step back—only to find that he couldn't move his leg.
His eyes widened.
"What?!"
In his excitement, he had failed to notice Lee's true intention. The bandages from Lee's arm had discreetly wrapped around his leg, binding him in place.
Realizing he was trapped, Akuma had no choice but to brace himself.
Lee's knee slammed into his abdomen with crushing force. The impact sent Akuma soaring into the sky.
But Lee wasn't finished.
With a sharp tug, Lee pulled on the bandages still wrapped around Akuma's leg, yanking him back toward the ground. As Akuma plummeted, Lee leaped into the air after him, spinning mid-air with incredible speed, his leg poised for a powerful finishing kick.
However—
"RRRIIPP!"
With sheer brute strength, Akuma tore through the bandages in an instant, breaking free before Lee's attack could land. As Lee's kick came down, Akuma met it head-on with a powerful counter-kick. The force of their clash sent shockwaves through the air before both landed on their feet, their eyes locked in unspoken respect and determination.
Akuma, with a wide grin on his face, said, "Brother Lee, you've gotten strong… but I will not lose! Nor will I hold back my punches! Prepare yourself!"
Akuma's eyes burned with excitement as he took a firm stance, ready to unleash his power. Until now, Akuma had been defending himself, not attacking Rock Lee, but seeing that Rock Lee was able to handle it, Akuma decided to stop holding back his punches.
