Chapter 77: Chapter 77: The Edo Tensei Jutsu

"Come out, Orochimaru. I know you can't die. I want to make a deal with you."

After an exhaustive battle, with trump cards revealed one after another, Orochimaru had ultimately suffered a hidden loss at the hands of Uchiha Nagi's left-handed Monstrous Strength Fist.

However, Uchiha Nagi knew his opponent's capabilities; Orochimaru hadn't exhausted all his trump cards, while Nagi himself had nearly played all of his.

All that remained were his strongest, Sun Breathing's Kagura Dance, and his Mind Teleportation for escape.

"Nagi-kun, your growth truly astonishes me. I wonder, what deal do you wish to make with me?"

From the crater, Orochimaru's husky, magnetic voice drifted out. A few seconds later, he emerged once more—wet, slimy, and completely unharmed.

Evidently, he had used the Oral Rebirth technique again to recover from all his injuries. However, this time, the chakra consumed was clearly greater, and the damage from cellular division more significant.

But Orochimaru still wore that same smile, the chill in his eyes fixed on Uchiha Nagi like a venomous snake.

Without absolute certainty, it was clear Orochimaru didn't want to continue fighting either. He had many trump cards, but his opponent had a fair few as well. The fact that Nagi even knew Tsunade's Monstrous Strength Fist had shocked Orochimaru to the core.

After all, besides the First Hokage, Tsunade was the only one in the entire Senju clan who knew the Monstrous Strength Fist—though the Senju clan was now gone.

"I'm very curious, how did you learn the Monstrous Strength Fist? That technique is Tsunade's exclusive ninjutsu. I wonder if you could tell me, Nagi-kun?"

Uchiha Nagi replied without missing a beat, "It's nothing. Tsunade and I had a bet. She lost, so she taught me. And then I learned it."

Orochimaru: "..."

Is he trying to fool a child?

Uchiha Nagi's left hand was wrapped in bandages, so Orochimaru didn't know it was a White Zetsu arm. Although he had seen White Zetsu, he had never connected them to the First Hokage's cells, much less the fact that Orochimaru himself possessed Hashirama's cells.

"I wonder, Nagi-kun, what kind of deal do you propose?" Orochimaru narrowed his serpentine eyes, feigning interest.

"Eternal life—" Uchiha Nagi stated calmly.

"Oh...?" Clearly, Orochimaru didn't believe him.

Uchiha Nagi didn't bother explaining further. He took out a scroll and tossed it to the ground. As the smoke cleared, a demon, its hands and feet bound and sealed, appeared. This was a subject he had experimented on numerous times, one that had already gone mad.

Sealed in a storage scroll, without air, water, or food, a human would undoubtedly die. But it would not.

Uchiha Nagi directly stabbed his sword into its head, then pulled it out. The man on the ground shrieked in pain. Yet, the next second, the wound rapidly began to repair itself, disappearing completely within moments.

Then, Nagi used a kunai to sever its head. The body remained alive. He then reattached the head, and it returned to normal.

"An interesting specimen. A constitution akin to immortality. However, this alone is not enough to prove he possesses eternal life." Orochimaru was clearly intrigued now; his current words were merely an attempt to haggle.

"I won't waste any more words with you, Orochimaru. A fair exchange: I want the Edo Tensei and Senjutsu," Uchiha Nagi said directly, too lazy to expose Orochimaru's petty scheming.

"Edo Tensei? That's the Second Hokage's forbidden jutsu. And how did you come to know that I possess the method for cultivating Senjutsu?" Orochimaru asked, his interest piqued.

"Is there even a need to ask? Only the three great sage regions have the method for Senjutsu training. Orochimaru, you only have one chance. Kirigakure's forces will be here soon. Make your decision." Uchiha Nagi calmly looked towards the southeast, where a group of people was gathering and heading their way.

Orochimaru was also clearly aware that after causing such a commotion, it was time to leave.

Orochimaru was no fool. After serious consideration, he said, "I must confirm its authenticity. I'll take a blood sample for testing first. If it's real, I will come find you tomorrow for the trade."

Uchiha Nagi carefully examined the blood spilled on the ground, then nodded. He recalled the demon on the ground and didn't ask how Orochimaru planned to find him. With a flicker, he quickly located little Kimimaro and then used the Body Flicker Technique to leave the scene.

As for whether Orochimaru would renege on the deal after obtaining the blood, Nagi wasn't worried at all. Only Muzan's blood could convert humans into demons, and the chances of an ordinary demon converting or infecting others were pitifully small.

Only after Uchiha Nagi had left did Orochimaru narrow his eyes, lick the corner of his mouth with his long tongue, and summon several snakes. They slithered towards the patch of earth stained with the demon's blood and then swallowed small clumps of soil containing it.

Evidently, the allure of eternal life was not insignificant to Orochimaru. He would fanatically pursue even the slightest chance. As for capturing Uchiha Nagi to use as a vessel, he had now extinguished that thought; he lacked the certainty.

What Orochimaru didn't know was that Uchiha Nagi had nearly exhausted his trump cards. If he had gone all out, he could have defeated him.

Facing the pursuing Kirigakure Anbu who arrived later, Orochimaru paid them no heed. He summoned a large snake that swallowed him whole. Then, with a puff of smoke, only the devastated battlefield remained.

Just as Orochimaru departed, several squads arrived. The leader of one of these squads was exceptionally striking.

With turquoise eyes and long, brown, side-swept curly hair, her right eye covered by her bangs—this was Terumi Mei, the future Mizukage. At this moment, Terumi Mei was in the prime of her youth, a beauty of the highest order.

But right now, marriage was the last thing on her mind. She and her clan were merely one of the Kekkei Genkai families trembling in fear within the Blood Mist Village.

"Damn it! Where did these enemies come from, brazenly fighting in the Land of Water, completely disregarding us!" Terumi Mei fumed.

The Kirigakure Anbu present remained silent. If the Fourth Mizukage hadn't been constantly engaging in internal strife and purges, how would their enemies dare to be so audacious, fighting so flagrantly just outside Kirigakure?

"Do we know who the enemies are?" a man wearing a mask, evidently the leader, asked.

The few ninja who had arrived first and witnessed the battle replied: "One was Orochimaru. The other... seemed to be from the Uchiha clan, but we're not sure which one~"

"The Uchiha clan, you say..."

Terumi Mei pondered. The Uchiha clan had long since been wiped out, the survivors all rogue ninjas. Orochimaru was also a rogue. Two rogue ninjas had a major battle in Kirigakure's vicinity?

No matter how hard she racked her brains, Terumi Mei couldn't figure out their reasons. And looking at the scene, the intensity of the battle was anything but ordinary; it was at least at the level of two Kage-level shinobi...

"Damn it, if only the Fourth Mizukage hadn't turned the village into this..."

The surrounding people fell silent. The Fourth Mizukage's purges... it was truly hard to put into words.
