Chapter 208: Chapter 208
As the hordes of ink clones rushed forward, Uchiha Shin simply leaned forward slightly, clenching his right fist.
On his knuckles, electrons clashed, annihilating each other in a violent surge. In mere moments, an energy fluctuation more potent than a Tailed Beast Bomb gathered in his palm.
"Positron Cannon."
With a cold smirk, Shin threw his punch.
A dazzling golden beam erupted from his fist, cutting through the air with an ear-splitting roar. The sheer force of the attack evaporated the fragments of the collapsing mountain, reducing the ink clones to mere ashes.
Boom!
The Eight-Tails took the full brunt of the attack, its massive body pierced clean through. The beam didn't stop there—it continued on, obliterating the mountain behind the beast, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. The ground beneath them superheated instantly, melting into a sea of molten rock.
Only the severed head of the Eight-Tails remained, suspended in the air. Its lifeless eyes reflected nothing but shock.
"Bajiquan: Sky Burial!"
With a sonic boom, Shin vanished from sight, appearing mid-air as he stomped downward, shattering the sound barrier. His hands gripped the Eight-Tails' horns, and with a monstrous pull, he summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
The Eight-Tails let out a final, garbled cry before being wrenched from its Jinchūriki, B, and absorbed into the statue. The severed connection caused B's body to go limp, plummeting from the sky. He was dead before he even hit the ground.
Shin didn't bother to look at the corpse. Instead, he rolled his shoulders, stretching as the residual power in his body slowly settled.
"Hah… first time using this in actual combat. The results? Not bad."
He flexed his fingers, still tingling with residual energy. "The initial burst exceeds Mach 100, and I can push it further. My physical enhancement in this state pairs well with the Eight Gates. Not bad at all."
Then, without another thought, he turned and vanished, heading back toward Kumogakure.
The village was still in chaos.
Kumogakure's forces were locked in a desperate battle against Shin's Black Shadow Corps—an endless horde of regenerating warriors. The morale of the Cloud shinobi had already crumbled. If this weren't their home, most of them would have fled long ago.
When Shin reappeared, a chilling realization spread among the Cloud ninja: B was dead. The Eight-Tails was gone.
Two figures stood out amidst the chaos—one of them was a young girl, trembling, her beige-blond braids whipping in the wind. Despite her obvious fear, she fought desperately, clawing at any hope of survival. She was young—too young to bear the burden of a Jinchūriki.
Yugito Nii, host of the Two-Tails.
Her body was exhausted, both physically and mentally, from years of enduring the hatred of her village. But right now, more than the glares and whispers, she feared the man slowly walking toward her with a twisted smile.
Uchiha Shin.
His crimson gaze locked onto hers. "It's not good to resist, you know~"
His voice was almost playful, but to Yugito, it was pure terror. The Hidden Cloud's destruction was his doing. He had slaughtered her comrades like insects.
"No—stay away!"
Panicked, she formed hand seals, her body trembling.
"Fire Release: Flaming Rodent Bomb!"
A burst of fiery chakra took the shape of dozens of small rodents, squealing as they surged forward. The moment they made contact with Shin's body—
Boom!
Flames exploded around him, scorching the ground, sending debris flying.
When the dust settled, Shin stood there, completely unharmed, casually dusting off his collar.
Yugito's stomach dropped. Her technique should have incinerated him. It had been strong enough to destroy one of his shadow soldiers, and yet—nothing. It was useless.
Her fingers twitched. The weight of the situation crashed down on her, and she simply… froze. For a long moment, there was only silence.
Then, blue flames burst from her body, her form stretching and morphing as the Two-Tails took over.
A monstrous, feline figure emerged, its body wreathed in flickering blue flames. Two glowing eyes locked onto Shin as Matatabi—the Two-Tails—spoke in a soft yet firm voice.
"So you're Uchiha Shin, the one hunting the Tailed Beasts... I assume you've already taken the Eight-Tails."
Her gaze flickered to the hulking form of the Demonic Statue behind him, and the chakra it emanated confirmed her worst fears. Several Tailed Beasts had already been sealed inside.
Matatabi took a deep breath, scanning him carefully. Something was wrong. The sheer force rolling off his body—it was familiar.
"This power… it's like the Sage of Six Paths himself. You're far beyond any normal shinobi. Even the Third Raikage wasn't this monstrous."
Shin tilted his head, smirking. "Oh? You've got a nice voice. If you were a little cuter, I might've let you go."
Matatabi blinked. The sheer absurdity of the statement made her pause.
"...Are you serious?"
Shin's smirk widened, but his eyes remained deadly. "Completely."
For a long moment, neither moved.
Then, Matatabi's flames slowly began to dim. She had no choice. She wasn't foolish—resisting was suicide. If she could buy Yugito's life, it was worth it.
The towering Two-Tails began to shrink, its massive body compacting until, at last, what remained was a small, blue-flamed cat, no taller than Shin's waist. Her twin tails flicked nervously.
Shin's eyes widened. "Holy shit. You're adorable. Way better than Kurama."
He crouched, scratching behind Matatabi's ears, causing her to let out an involuntary purr before she stiffened in embarrassment.
Yugito, still standing nearby in shock, snapped back to reality when Shin turned to her.
"Relax, I keep my promises. You and Matatabi won't be harmed."
A brief sense of relief filled her chest, but then—
"But…"
Her breath hitched.
"You're coming with me to Konoha. From now on, you're under my control."
Shin's hand moved before she could react. His fingers pressed lightly against both Yugito's forehead and Matatabi's head. A surge of power flowed from him into them, and a black mark bloomed on Yugito's stomach—a Sage Mark, binding them to his will.
Yugito's knees gave out. Matatabi's tails drooped.
Shin stood, stretching lazily. "Well, that's that. Let's go."
Without waiting for a response, he turned, walking away as his shadow soldiers cleared a path through the ruined village. Yugito, still shaking, had no choice but to follow.
The war wasn't over.
But for Kumogakure, it might as well have been.
