Chapter 156: Chapter 156
Even after I used the secret technique of the Cursed Sage Seal, Tsunade could only hold out for five minutes at most.
"You little brats, you actually think you can fight me?"
Before leaving, he still put in real effort, using advanced secret techniques to let them experience just a taste of his power.
The worst off was Konan, who lasted only fifteen seconds. The strongest, Tsunade, barely held out for five minutes. Even if they had all joined forces, it wouldn't have been enough to bring him down.
He had also placed the Cursed Sage Seal on them one by one, marking them with his own signature.
He took the time to discuss each seal with them, listening to their preferences regarding design. Most chose elements like flowers, animals, or clan symbols.
Hyūga Hina opted for the Hyūga clan emblem—abstract but fitting. It wasn't much of an issue; after a few days of "special training," she had made significant progress. At least now, she no longer fainted at the sight of certain... interactions.
On the other hand, Senju Meibuki had also shown impressive learning ability. Uchiha Shin took note of her rapid improvement.
Uchiha Shin had another interesting project—custom clothing. He and Senju Yue had collaborated to craft a beautiful cheongsam for Mikoto, Tsunade, and Kushina. It was his planned gift for each of them on their birthdays.
"Nono wouldn't suit a cheongsam," he mused. "She's better suited for something more... modest. A nun's habit, perhaps."
Such attire didn't even exist in this world, so he would have to sew a few himself. The very thought of dressing up the soft-spoken, kindhearted girl in a nun's outfit sent a thrill through him.
Her usual teacher's attire already looked exquisite, but over time, even the finest delicacies needed variation. The purity of a nun's habit? Now that had a special kind of allure.
Humming a tune, Uchiha Shin set off on his next adventure.
Destination: the Land of Demons.
Originally, his plan had been to head to the Land of Water and obtain the bloodline of the Kaguya clan. However, unexpected events forced a change. The Land of Demons had sent a distress call to the Land of Fire.
In exchange for unconditional surrender, they requested aid in sealing a monstrous entity summoned by a cult led by a man named Hōzuki Ryūsei.
The other nations had ignored their plea. With the Land of Fire's growing power, the world was in a cold war. No country was willing to send troops to suppress a monster that had suddenly appeared.
Most were simply waiting to see how things played out. If the situation escalated, they could always send shinobi later to assist the priestess of the Land of Demons in sealing the beast.
Meanwhile, Ryūsei had used the monster's power to create an undead army that was now rampaging across the land.
With no hope elsewhere, the Land of Demons turned to the Land of Fire.
Tsunade had originally intended to ignore the request. Why would she waste resources to help an unknown land deal with some summoned beast?
However, on that day, Tsunade had been knocked unconscious by Uchiha Shin's secret technique. With the task falling to him, he casually skimmed through the reports and grew intrigued.
Though he doubted the monster was truly capable of world-ending destruction, he wouldn't allow it to grow unchecked.
More than that, he was curious.
How had this otherworldly creature been summoned? What were its abilities?
And then, there was the priestess, Miroku. Her ability to foresee death and seal demons piqued his interest.
As he journeyed to the Land of Demons, he reviewed his knowledge of the region's lore.
A group of ambitious individuals had sought to conquer the continent. To that end, they had harnessed the power of monsters and spirits to create an undead army.
This army had rampaged across the nations until Priestess Miroku sealed the souls of the malevolent spirits beneath the temple of the Land of Demons. Their bodies were locked away in the Swamp Country's ancestral shrine.
"Tsk! The original accounts barely cover this," Shin muttered. "How did an undead army even get that far?"
No matter how formidable they were, the five Great Shinobi Nations should have been able to crush them.
Did no one take them seriously at first? Did they allow the threat to fester unchecked?
And this priestess, Miroku—her lineage was a mystery. According to the information gathered by the Anbu, the Land of Demons had no recorded history of a hereditary priestess line.
How, then, could she seal the beast?
Were other sealing techniques ineffective?
With all these questions in mind, Uchiha Shin finally arrived at the borders of the Land of Demons.
Instead of heading straight to Miroku, he first observed the battlefield.
From hundreds of kilometers away, his Sharingan granted him a panoramic view of the chaos.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Legions of puppet warriors advanced upon the Land of Demons.
"This time, they're not using clay—these ones are made of stone?"
Shin scoffed. "Why not go all the way and make them out of steel? Then you'd basically have a Gundam instead of some third-rate puppets."
Despite his sarcasm, he noted that these puppets were different.
Unlike standard puppetry, they weren't connected by chakra strings. Instead, they were powered by a sinister, dark force.
"This chakra… disgusting," he muttered, his nose wrinkling at the vile energy saturating the battlefield. "It reeks of human malice."
It was entirely different from the dragon vein chakra he had encountered in the past. There was no temptation to absorb it—only repulsion.
"Time to move."
With a whisper, he activated the Heavenly Hand Power.
In an instant, he was at the heart of the Land of Demons' capital.
Despite being labeled a "capital," the settlement was more akin to a village. Its ruler, the shrine maiden Miroku, was effectively the leader of a glorified temple town.
At the shrine at the village's center, a confrontation was unfolding.
A man with black wings and several subordinates stood before the priestess.
"See? This is the power granted by the Wraith!"
Hōzuki Ryūsei spread his arms. "Why do you resist? With this power and your sealing abilities, we could rule the world!"
Miroku, clad in her shrine maiden attire, her golden headdress glinting under the torchlight, remained composed.
"You're a fool. Why put your faith in a spirit of destruction?"
Ryūsei's expression darkened. His mouth twisted unnaturally, and a second, deeper voice emerged from within.
"Miroku… humans are weak. They crave power. A mere taste is all it takes to control them."
Miroku's expression did not waver.
Uchiha Shin, watching from the shadows, smirked.
"This is getting interesting."
